the fact that the anti cheat is actually doing its job makes my incredibly deprived heart somewhat warmer
When they have to rely on reports to ban 250,000 cheaters after 6 months, that's not the anti-cheat doing it's job, that's the community doing the job for Blizzard, and it's rather despicable, having to rely on the player base to get cheaters banned.
This dude was most likely using an old cheat that had already been detected a long time ago. The fact that it took this long to get them banned is still cause for concern..
@@Splashbang_OW the person did mention him bragging it was homemade, most likely he made it partially from scratch, so it would be pretty obvious, but most likely slightly different than an old version

It's not doing it's job at all. As someone with a little knowledge on the "cheating" subject due maybe personal experience, the anti-cheat is garbage. Just don't be BLATANT like this idiot, and you won't be touched. The cheaters you have to ACTUALLY worry about, are not these. These will always get caught/banned relatively fast. It's the other ones that know how to hide and not be blatant that you should be concerned about. Walls are NEARLY undetected by the anti-cheat in it's current form. Also there are like 10 bypasses (most are paid unless you code, but with ChatGPT it's REAL easy) So most people that want to actually CLIMB, you likely won't ever suspect they are cheating unless they give it away at some point being stupid. But MOST cheaters that have half a brain, aren't going to get caught. Especially not by the automated system LOL. That's just a poor people thing or people who use absurd aimbots like this. You can easily just put aim-assist on PC through the application and it won't be as obvious. It'll only have a bit of smooth tracking. Set it to like .3-.4 and it's nearly impossible to notice.
Tbh it seems like blizzard is actually listening to reports some guy was tank on my team threw the whole game just running round with ball saying hello to the enemy team reported him very next day got a message saying he got banned
I imagine the overwatch anticheat as a guy in the basement. He was looking at that cheater and for 12 minutes he didnt noticed any suspicious activity. And then: "aha! its a hacker!"

The only time someone ever got banned was when I reported for the F-slur and everything past that never got banned.

I've gotten no less than FOUR notifications in these past TWO DAYS! That was after many months where I didn't get any notifications at all despite always reporting people being racists, throwers, people being AFK, and possible cheaters. I think it was Flats himself who explained that Overwatch bans happen in waves - they spend months without banning people and then there's a wave of bans. I guess we're in a wave now, at least in my region.

The fact that the anticheat doesn't get on high alert the moment someone's aim teleports like that is incredible.

Some previous examples of cheats at least come with traces of simulated flicks or disguising those instant jumps as lost packages, this one was dumb enough to do neither.

We watch these videos and some of them are "You see it if you know what you're looking for - then it's obvious" and some of them are "I have motion sickness after watching 5 seconds of the camera jumping everywhere" - this was definitely the second type.
Anti cheat probably gathering as much evidence as can be. Thats why it didnt work right out of the gate. If it bans players real quick just for noticing really good aim and or performance y'all will assume that the anti-cheat is a little too harsh.
Again the Anti cheat was probably gathering as much evidence to prove the player was cheating, and when a certain amount was meant thats when the anti cheat kicks in and banned the cheater

I just imagine the anti-cheat as a guy coming back to his desk with a coffee and a sandwich to see THIS happening on his screen and just stands there open mouthed before desperately typing in the command to ban the cheater and glancing around to see if anybody noticed him slacking off. That was NUTS.
Eh, I doubt a physical person actually watches most of the reports. It would be logistically impossible. I think there would be a few edge cases where a physical person could review a couple of things, but I assume most of it is done through an AI program that detects cheats or something.

one time i had a hunch as orisa and i chucked my spear in a random spot and blasted a stealthed sombra. Thought for sure i was gettin banned after that

this exact thing happened to me as sombra. i was crouched in a corner on samoa and this orisa walked by, turned around, and oneshot me with a spear while i was invisible and i was in shock. i endorsed them just for that
I got motion sick when he swapped to diva and started shaking back and forth at different targets.
Edit: Shooting at a Moira orb had me loosing it lol.

Ahhh, so the submitter was on the same team. That makes a little bit more sense on to why they didn't want to believe it at first and didn't 'see' it for themselves until after the game or maybe when they were spectating death cam.
Yeah and i know some people kinda focus on their gameplay and not too much of their teammates expecally if they aren't near them often, it looks likr this dude wasn't near people super often so they didn't suspect anything until he got a ton of kills and then they got suspicious
He absolutely flammed his teammates for not healing him. I've seen way too many of these types to believe otherwise.

Flats he said he wasn’t used to hackers cause he was on console back in ow1 when he played ranked, that’s probably why he wasn’t used to hackers as it’s really not at all common to see hackers on console, especially back on OW1 which for a long time wasn’t cross-play.

Can I just say it took almost the entire match for people to call him out
Recently came back after qutting in OW1 and got this map after a couple of matches. i was playing sombra and for the life of me could not find a single healthpack to hack. So him not knowing the healthpack is there doesnt even surprise me. On every other map i've played in OW2 (which im pretty sure is all of them at this point) the healthpacks are really intuitively placed, but on this one it's just not the case, which is really weird to me.
Yeah most maps I can imagine where the health packs are mostly but I have no idea where there are health packs on this map
Yeah some of the new OW2 maps have a few medkit placement where you get it either by exploring the map or accidentally find it when you lost. Especially flashpoint map some of their medkit placement are wack
I've watched lots of videos on spectating cheaters, but I never saw anything THIS nasty. Jeez

That's because most of them "try" to hide it. Even though using any aim lock is nearly impossible to hide lmao. These cheaters aren't the ones to worry about anyway, these always get caught. It's the ones that are a bit smarter and actually know how to not be obvious that you should worry about. As they likely won't ever get banned. The anti-cheat IS DOG SHIT. If people don't report, it'll hardly ever detect anything BESIDES hard locks like this.

The 9 billion mph snapping makes it hysterical. Anticheat probably likes collection and processing a lot of data before it acts but whatever bar needed to be filled for action was definitely completely filled quite quickly, probably only took a few games like this.
I think it would be more interesting to show some more subtle cheaters. I've been getting a lot of them lately in ranked. The cheat I see the most is one where they play normal like 90% of the game but at crucial moments they will melee the air or something then proceed to hit an insane flick afterwards, then go back to looking normal until another key moment in a teamfight. I've also run into some people walling but not using any aim cheats. Like just walls and nothing else. I think when they melee the air they're locking it in but only for one headshot.
I'm sure the amount of wall hacks in the game are also ridiculous as well. I have no way of proving that one but. I play support a lot in the amount of times that they'll aimbot snap as soljourn on Moira is insane. I believe the settings are turned on for just supports, just right click. Which makes it nearly impossible to tell. The amount of smurfers are also really bad. Free to play a game that makes it so much cheaper to just buy a new account

blizzard should be able to detect too much aim snapping (regardless of cheat software) and immediately ban cheaters but they're not
Aim Snapping can happen to anybody if packet loss occurs mid game
There's also the whole " when Anti-Cheat gets stronger the Cheats get stronger " then the cycles continue

@@GoldenKirby Yeah, I think I remember reading something where the anticheat kicking too quickly after catching it will clue the cheater in on what was caught so making it take a little while obfuscates the specific action that triggered it. But this case was so obvious it's insane.
The problem is that flick shots are a thing, and while consistency can be an indicator of whether it’s a flick or a cheating program it’s sometimes hard to distinguish. You can pop off on window with flick shots and people call you a cheater when it’s just luck and skill matching up for a push.

If the anti-cheat kicked in then maybe his cheats were actually homemade. Think about it, OW2 cheats that people pay for probably have more time and effort put into then to be undetected by the anti-cheat. But if it's only one guy making his own cheats, then maybe they're not as refined and more noticeable by the anticheat.

A draw works the same as losses now, if you get 15 draws/losses you get your card reset, I'm assuming the behind the scene stats don't work that way but what's told I'm not shocked someone said they count as losses
How the supports are still healing him all the way through this is beyond me. Like even in a possible de-ranking GM game i'll stop healing if its a hacker
As a support player, I can't ever tell who is hacking and who isn't tbh.
It's probably an extremely young player as well. In no way is an adolescent or adult going to hack this way and not get dizzy/get motion sickness.

I had one ranked game that barely began, the game closed declaring there was a cheater somewhere. I didn't even recognize since it was too early in the game.
that was one of the saddest cheater I've seen so far.. and yet it took the anti cheat 15 mins of that non stop to react.. that's if it was his FIRST game with the cheat and since it's comp it means it probably isn't.. my head hurts with all the snapping around though, so thanks for that I guess

That first one kinda hurt me because I've played a lot of Sombra, so sometimes I shoot certain areas JUST IN CASE and she always happens to be there. 😅
Side Note: I was once accused of cheating by a Sombra bc he threw his translocator to disengage. He claimed he was invisible and I was hacking because I was shooting him and killed him while he was invisible. It was impossible for a few reasons:
A. I was playing Moira. Moira can't damage you if she can't see you.
B. Sombra goes invisible faster, but NOT IMMEDIATELY after throwing the translocator.
C. I used my brain and eyes and started draining in the direction she threw it, so she wasn't able to go into stealth due to taking damage.
Maybe he was new, maybe he was just stupid, idk, but every time he died he accused the person who killed him of cheating. Same with his buddy. Perhaps they were cheating and felt nobody should be able to kill them? It was qp and it's not like I play at a level any higher than plat maybe... (Whatever the new Plat is...)

I seriously wish Blizzard would enable fine grained speed control as default...

13:40 I remember those times... tbh I think that, because in OW1, we paid 60 bucks for the game, we were more invested in it and it's fairness. Now that it's f2p, the gates are open to any number of people who don't care about the game and are more likely to cheat or just ragequit matches because they're not at all invested in it.

@Flats, The thing where you say the bullets go sideways is called a aimfix program. (you can see gunz the duel another old fps game where this was abused a lot for clearer replays so you can see how a cheat like that works).
I guess the reason he didn't get called out earlier is he barely killed anyone so almost no replays... people probably skipped through them because who expects a orisa\dva to be rage hacking. But someone should have noticed at 7:30. I don't get his dva play, though. He acts like he's never player OW one minute but then does the fly in, rockets, melee combo the next.

I played an overwatch game where a teammate was unusually bad. As I watched the replayed I saw that my teammate was literally a poorly designed AI that would aim at their teammates and spam abilities whenever they were low health. At that moment I realized that some game really are just 50/50.
The fact that it took so long for him to get called out is why cheaters hang around for so long in this game lol.
