Incredible arc from Vaxei when you think about it. After losing his 5yr tournament streak to Malis in a showmatch and again in MGC, he turned it on when it mattered most in the OWC grand finals with a 1k combo on tb to secure the 6th straight OWC championship for the USA. Remarkable work. In Vaxei we Trust 🦅
underrated teammate is definitely fiery. couldn’t do jackshit in grand finals cuz the mappool was basically mapped against him LOL, but he was insanely good at the shotcalling for map picks and strategizing, i don’t think they get nearly as close without his mental fortitude here

I really think people underestimate what having an extremely seasoned tournament vet can do for your map comms and strategy, fiery is by far the most experienced in world cups on the USA team which i think does wonders for their organization despite the fast moving stress of the matches.

Tbf SK has their own carries as well. USA as a whole had better players to match SK’s supporting players, holding it up for the U.S. even when Vaxei and Rektygon couldn’t completely bring it home.

Everyone who says this USA win is "boring" didn't watch the match and just skipped straight to the results ://
They will see one of the most exciting and hype OWC match with amazing carry performances from several people and also the best OWC performance from worst hr player, and still say "boring" as soon as they know the US has won. Saying it's boring feels like an insult to the hard work the South Korean team put out this match. Just glad it didn't turn out like 2022 where US sweeped before bracket reset or even 2019...

Why is there bracket reset? What's the point? Close match, really good.
It just gives the winner bracket their advantage for playing harder matches and making it though. It would also defeat the purpose of there being a winners bracket and a losers bracket.
The format is that to get out of the tournament you need to lose twice, usa had already lost it wouldn't be fair if sk got out of the tournament after 1 loss

Two teams in the grand finals are supposed to be the best of the best and 2 consecutive wins against winners bracket best team is "slightly" too hard, don't you think? I guess bo ~17 (up to 9 wins) is the better approach. And the winners bracket sweat is that they play less matches, isn't it?

@@user-uc6wo1lc7t that is a good thought but another aspect a tournament needs to fulfill is that it's always worth to win. For example after the qualifiers the nr1 seed is faced against the nr32 seed, that seems a bit unfair right? But if that was not the case, it would be worth for a team to try to not win so that you would face the nr32 seed. And in the aspect of the grand finals, the team that has not lost yet has it easiest, that is the reward of not losing before
