Hello and thank you for your visit to our channel, and your kind comment! We will definitely think about doing some more videos on sentence structure, and you might also like this one that covers a few kinds of sentences: th-cam.com/video/SUxjMvGEtcs/w-d-xo.html
My love l can't imagine how much this lesson has help me with the reading module in ielts . Knowing the structure of a given sentence the key to success.🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Tuan, thanks for visiting the channel and for your comment. I will put adverbials and absolute phrases on the list, and start creating a video soon! :)
Thank you so much for developing the video about the sentence. I watched the video three times with full concentration. The video (How to Write Powerful Sentences) developed and prepared very well. I liked that the sentences must answer at least two wh-questions (who/what) and it is much better to explain all five questions (who, what, when, where, why) . The video talked about active and passive voice with details and there were enough examples regarding active and passive voice. It is much appreciated to touch types of sentences (simple, compound, complex and compound and complex) because they help writers to bring variations in their writing. I am looking forward to watching upcoming videos.
Thank you for your feedback, Pervaiz. I'm glad the examples were helpful! Great idea about creating a video regarding sentence variety. I'll get that one out soon, along with paragraph-writing!
Great question; I think it can be quite difficult. Usually, when I am not sure how formal or complex my words should be (which should depend on what's best for my reader), I will try to "mirror" what I see from others. If someone I'm emailing with, or a client, or a textbook, or a website uses a certain kind of language, you can often then adapt your own to reflect that.
Thank you so much for making this video on my demand. 😊 I would also like you to do a video on bringing Clarity to your writing. You know I have a problem not being able to convey my ideas with a certain clarity and all the times I want to say one thing I end up saying other. I just wonder how not to make my readers feel confused reading my texts. 😊
Hi there, glad you enjoyed it! Great idea about writing with clarity. I will create a new video on that soon. In the meantime, maybe these three will be helpful (if you haven't watched them yet): th-cam.com/video/H3tw-qqnwj4/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/hS5OflhlHpM/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/Y0gOvl99Qes/w-d-xo.html. Thanks for your comment as always! :)
Thank you for replying. Well, I believe I am aware much of this advice in these videos (I have watched your videos and have got my insights of these rules from those). Yet, I find it too hard to write something sensible. And by my writing insensibly I don't mean my writing doesn't make sense at the sentence level but it is normally at the paragraph level. Moreover, I find it hard to generate ideas.
And what do you think, does every effective writing needs to be clear, or does every clear writing need to be effective? I mean what comes first clarity or effectiveness?
Hi Younis, I'm sorry this reply is so late. We now have a video on writing paragraphs too: th-cam.com/video/_53AGJMkGas/w-d-xo.html I hope you will enjoy it! :)
Hi again! I'm sorry, this reply was hidden and I just saw it now for some reason! I think the 2 go together. We need clarity in order to be effective. If the message isn't clear, it can't become effective. So I would say we want to write a draft, then go back and focus on clarity, then go back and focus on adding any detail needed for effectiveness. Thanks for your insightful questions! I'll check out the responses more quickly now!

Hi Kyun1456, I realized I have not made your requested video yet. I will work on some more advanced structure videos. However, I did come out with one about sentence variety; maybe you will find it helpful! :) Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/QZUhby3Gssw/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for providing clear examples, what are some easy ways that help us in choosing appropriate words that fit the educational context?
