Nice review!! Most 500 (IS & LC) owners are not interested in the track weapon-ish characteristics of an F Product. I had a ‘06 IS350 and a ‘16 IS350 FSport and I loved both of them! I just wished they were a bit faster and had a tad more driving dynamics without compromising the Lexus-ness and Lexus delivered! The IS500 is the perfect street car, it’s fast, stunning to watch, and is most of all…comfortable. The ISF is awesome, but the suspension is too stiff for me to use on a daily basis. Plus…mountain sweepers aside…I’m never going on a track, so the ‘F Bits’ would be wasted on me. So I’m quite happy to be Team FSport Performance! Thanks for posting.
I agree with you, hence why Lexus call this an F sport. I dont know why people keep comparing this to an F car. May be because the 2UR-GSE? The Asin 8spd already found various Lexus products.
Lexus introducing the actual F line of cars and then evolving to have f sports along side them was a great move. Lexus makes great cars in general and I love them both. The is500 also looks updated and very attractive and classy. your reaching here bud, i have IS500 and i love it, i dont regret getting it, and i enjoy driving it. But to say "the best high performance car in the world" is really pushing it, its really not in the top 10
@yosonimstuckinthetwilightz286 so if it's not in the top 10 in your opinion why do you have one?..why waste your money and time on a car you do not see or think is worthy of being in the top 10 in your book 🤔
I doubt a new ISF would be anywhere close to the price point of an IS500. Anything lower than USD$90k would cannibalize RCF sales. Toyota/Lexus are better off selling the “F” (or as a TRD or TOMs) body kit piece by piece as an end-user or dealer mod - maybe even a transmission tune included for the IS500 to transform into the F. Sort of what they did for ‘94 Supra to TRD3000GT and TOM’s body kit back in the days.
Smaller means lighter and better handling, which gives a performance advantage. Add a bigger screen and the lightning bling of the 500 to an ISF, and you have the perfect car. So, if a new F is coming, please, pretty please, make it an updated version of itself (ISFr, ISFII?) not an IS500F! I will also take a 2012+ ISF over the 500, any day. To put it in perspective, an IS-F is an IS body with everything else improved or redone from scratch, to achieve the ultimate Lexus driving experience on a street car, at the time (think Fuji/Yamaha/TRD). An IS500 is an IS everything, with an ISF V8 in it.
Honestly with ISFs regularly going for 30-40k depending on mileage. it is honestly worth it to spend about 20 to 25k more for a brand-new car compared to an almost 20-year-old car. I love the ISF but it just seems way more worth it for the IS500

The LS500 F Sport is pretty good, but lack the V8 though.
@@jml9550yes ls should have had a v8
@@shahangilani yeah, but ain’t happening. The V8 is gone after the RCF, IS500 and the LC500 gets discontinued.
@@jml9550 are they really getting discontinued ?
@@shahangilani I hope not, but history is any indication, it will in a few years IMO. These V8 volume is so low that it doesn’t make sense for Lexus to continue putting in development cost. Look at the V6, it is now gone from Toyota’s line up except in the Tundra, Sequoia and Lexus GX. They are all now turbo 4s, hybrids, hybrid Turbo 4s, TTV6s……
I love the simple looks of the past...modern hads alot of lines 😅
