  • Howdy ya’ll! Today we’re going to dive back into the history of Philadelphia with a specific and enthralling focus on The 1876 Centennial Exposition, which celebrated 100 years of American Independence.
In my previous research, photographs from this World’s Fair, the first official one in The United States, were scarce, however upon a second dive I’ve accumulated over 180 unique and seldom seen photographs of The 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia.
Furthermore, a majority of these images are of the Stereoscope variety. We will discuss the brief yet eventful history of the 1876 World’s Fair, while examining the details of these historically important photographs in a very rare collection. I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions in the comment section - Enjoy!

Living through 1960s-2020s, there was an abrupt change in direction in 1981 with Regressive forces taking control and Progressive forces demonized, Civil Rights and Vietnam War were the last battles of the two forces nearly equal with Progressives slightly winning until 1981 when Regressives took full control ever since?

We absolutelt have regressed, we are barbarians living in the ruins of Rome... thats why conspiracies like mudflood and Tartaria have gained traction, they arent real but people are grasping for an explanation as to how we have fallen so far culturally, socially, aesthetically, etc. It is disgusting what has happened to us, the degenerate state we find ourselves in the absolutely abhorent and disgusting state of our civilization. Jarid you sparked a curiosity in me about my own country holding such an event! Well Melbourne Australia was to hold such an event in 1880 and was visited by 1.3 million visitors, quite a remarkable fete considering our population was only 2.2 million at the time. Jump forward, one hundred and eight years to 1988 and my home town of Country town Brisbane [as most Australian's called it] was to hold EXPO 88 as it was affectionately referred to, to which 18.6 million visitors invaded our town. EXPO changed it forever! A second edit, our local brewery Castlemaine Perkins [XXXX ] was given permission to release a new beer with an alcohol rating of six percent and night clubs were allowed to stay open till 6:00 am.

The statue was free but the pedestal/base that it sits on had to be built and paid for by the people of the usa.. As far as I know children from all over the USA sent in pennies to help pay for this and other fundraising endeavors helped too. The statue sits on an Island that had a fort. The statue's pedestal is inside that decommissioned fort.

The 3 permanent buildings are interesting in light of one being Southern State, one Northern State and 3rd integrating them from Boston?

Well, there's the explanation to how the materials were transported - not by oxen and cart - but by train, pre-1800. Some of these structures were standing there well beyond 100 years and the materials were sourced far and wide by train. However, other machinery was used to lift heavy stones so the entire "settling and colonizing" primitive indian settled lands is hooey.
