I was an child extra in this film when I was 10 years old. Portions were filmed in the Henry Ford Museum.

Fascinating event.
I wish I could have gone to this. My grandparents were not even born yet, though. I did visit Philadelphia once, I would like to go back again.
I am in this film in two shots walking away from the camera as a 10 year old, and I found a great shot of my now deceased mother. What was your source for the original footage? (That few frames at the very end after the credits, of a woman in her 1976 clothing posing with the color calibration card is amazing.)

This video covers a small part of an amazing event, lucky for all them they didn't know until after the 4th celebration what had happened to the 7th Calvary on June 26th. Had they known, it would have been as sour an event as the 4th of July 2020.
Hopefully during the American Tricentennial in 2076, there is a documentary or something for the Bicentennial in 1976.
It really doesn't look like the USA is going to make it past 2020 let alone 2076.

What Victorian hall was this filmed in? Engines with huge belted wheels, and all of the signage and iron tracery glass transoms? Is this in the Smithsonian building along the mall, the one that’s red brick? I’m not sure I’ve ever been in there. Quite convincing really.
The wow and flutter of the audio is terrible ( listen to the background music changing constant pitch). Please rescan this film with better equipment
Hmmmmmm.............. not a mention of the Phila. Art Museum ----which a guide there told me was "built" for the centennial of 1876!!!!!!!!! But that building is made of multi-ton stone blocks & columns ???? with-in the ten years after end of civil war???? Something does not add up----Art museum seems MUCH older!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The current building was constructed in 1928. The art museum got its start in Memorial Hall following the Centennial Exhibition. You got me wondering, so I looked it up. I haven't been there in years. I think the first time I was there was when we went for our third grade field trip.
Memorial Hall, shown several times in the film, also under construction. The present PMA is 50 years younger.
