Fun fact: The bit where Rusty looks at his non-existent wristwatch as an excuse to leave is a classic Chevy Chase bit that he's done in other movies.
I loved it when he did it in Caddyshack 2. He does it and you never see him again on the movie lol.
At every family gathering I use the "Grace, she died 30 years ago." joke when it's time for dinner.

The best part of these videos is Emily's wonderful, sincere laugh. You simply can't help but chuckle along with her.
"whenever Katherine revved up the microwave I'd piss mah pants and forget who I was for half an hour" may be the most lethal ninja joke ever delivered in a movie.
I always wondered how Todd and Margot got together. They don't seem to like each other or have anything in common besides being snobs to other people.
Of all the many things Chevy Chase did well in his heyday, one of his best was the Freudian slip and recovery, as he did repeatedly with the pretty sales rep. 🤣
Fletch: "What can I do to-for you ?"
"Clark : Hey, Kids, I heard on the news that an airline pilot spotted Santa's sleigh on its way in from New York City.
Eddie : [after a pause] You serious, Clark?"

Rewatches can be fun because it's always comforting to share a familiar, well-loved movie with friends who love it too. First-time reactions are great because it's like watching a friend discover something you love, but a rewatch lets everyone be part of the 'in on the joke' feeling. Every time I watch this, I still cannot believe that Rusty was played by Johnny Galecki.
Is it this movie or one of the other ones where they joke about the kid actors changing ?

Fun fact, the next door neighbors house is the exact house that was used in Leathal Weapon another christmas movie but an action/comedy!
In the scene where Clark freaks out after the lights don't work, and he irritably punches the Santa decoration and kicks it into the bushes. Chevy Chase actually broke his pinky finger from punching the Santa too hard. Him kicking the reindeer decorations was really him kicking in pain.
And yet I still almost always piss myself laughing every time at his pain.
favorite one-liner: Clark: "if I woke up tomorrow with my head sown the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am right now"
Its the holidays, its just good to see other people enjoy movies that we enjoy, regardless of if its the first time. Would rather see someone love a movie they've already seen than see someone hate something new.

Never could understand why Clark just didn't leave the attic through the hole he created when his entire body went through into the kids bedroom. All he would have had to to do was lay down in the attic and crawl out onto the bunk bed. I enjoyed the vacation series of films, but they should have cast someone else to play Rusty, someone older and taller than Johnny Galecki.

So worth it, thanks. The line that Eddie has (and the delivery of it) regarding the plate in his head and the effect that the microwave has on him is unbelievably funny, never fails to have myself and my Dad in tears laughing.
I actually saw this in the theater as a child. Yes, probably a bit too young to see it, but my father took me and loved the Vacation films. My sister wasn't feeling well and stayed home with my mother that weekend; have divorced parents. My father passed away suddenly back in 2016, sure not sure from what, but every time I see this film it reminds me of him.
"When Santa squeezes his big ass down that chimney tonight he's gonna find the happiest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse" is one of the best lines in the movie haha.

I’ve never been that much of an avid fan of the Vacation movies but Christmas Vacation will always hold a special place in my heart. At some point in our lives I think we all want to be Clark and put together that good old fashioned family Christmas but without all the chaos.
First time, tenth time, I'll personally watch all your vids. It's the experience of watching the movie together with you guys that draws me in. You guys would be fun as hell to hang out with and/or watch movies with. Great vid as usual and Happy Holidays everyone!

Thats amazing, cause watching this film is my families tradition as well.
I always loved how the wife was trying to be supportive of her husband and give the kids a great Christmas. But, it took me, at least. three times watching this movie, to get past, what I call 5th grade humor. My faves were always "It's a Wonderful Life" and "bell's of Saint Mary's" and The Miracle on 34th Street".
For Xmas this year, my sister got my parents matching ugly xmas sweaters. For my mom, it says "AND WHY IS THE CARPET ALL WET, TODD?!" and for my dad, "I DON'T KNOW, MARGO!" 😆😆😆
It's my absolute favorite Christmas movie. I even own 4 small, golden pins in the form of Clark's smiling head with a Santa hat on.
This was one of my grandfather favorite movies to watch no matter what time of year it was. He had one of the most infectious laughs I've ever heard. He's been gone for over 20 years now but everytime I watch this movie I can still hear him giggling and snorting at it. This movie is probably my 3rd favorite Christmas movie after Die Hard and Bad Santa. Love you guys and keep up the awesome work!!!

Lots of star power in this one: Mae Questel (voice of Betty Boop), William Hickey (looked much older than what he was. died aged 69.), E.G.Marshall (12 Angry Men).
It should be noted that Hickey was 61 in this movie.
(Yes, I'm commenting a lot.) Our traditions include this movie, A Christmas Story, Scrooge the Musical (1980), and White Christmas. Also, we put on any Robin Hood movie, turn off the sound, and put on Christmas music then watch the movie that way.

From day one when this came out, it became a constant for my family on Christmas Eve! We'd get home from mass, put on some coffee, put out the cakes/cookies (and sausage tray - typical German Christmas Eve!) and watch Christmas Vacation!! Still do it now over 30 years later - and I NEVER get tired of this flick. 10 out of 10, no contest!! Comedy perfection - don't care how over the top it is - that's what's funny about it.
I couldn't pick a true favourite line/part - but sh!tter was full, 'I don't know Margo', and so many other lines are quoted often in our household! Cheers & Merry Christmas!
You should check out The Long Kiss Goodnight, a very underrated action movie that like Die Hard, is set at Christmas. It's also got a badass female hero played by Gina Davis!
Yeah that movie is classic. Gina Davis is tough as hell and Samuel L. Jackson is absolutely hilarious. 👍🏼

Just found out this year that the lady who plays Bethany was the original voice for Betty Boop, a cartoon icon.

I HAVE one of those hats. Bought it as a prop in 2017 to make me look extra goofy in a community theater play. Two days later, we had that heavy snow, and to go out without freezing my ears off, I had to wear that hat for real.

The funniest line is this whle movie is when Aunt Bethanu ,entions the funny, squeaky sound and Uncle Lwis says "You couldn't hear a dump truck driving throuh a nitro-gycerine plant."

I got clark's Merry Christmas kiss my @ss as my notification sound on my phone...its also a family tradition that me and my mom watched but this is the first time I've seen any Christmas movie since she passed this was her favorite time of year she starred off as clark when me and my sister was kids and then secretly she started to become like cousin eddie this will make it the 2bd Christmas without her and I'm glad i got to watch this with you guys
