First decrease the 7 to 8 hours of school focus on new skill based course in high school . Why memorise everything ? Personal grooming and presentation skills is more important. Based to industry demand change the subjects for kids . Kids should be Elle to work from 18 year with internship . Sick education system

Because we have different boards starting from CBSE, ICSE, State board, Matriculation board. So how can centre implement ? If they implement then the state will start crying. Tamil nadu state is worst and for getting votes they do linient marking . They just need to memorise and vomit the same question which is on the back side of the chapter in the text book. No application based, no logic and with such shitty education how will the students get job. Same thing in the engineering college also

@@vidyanagarajan9135 CBSE should implement it. Rest of the boards will follow.
Why do we even bother with ties? Why write so many pages of notes? If classroom teaching is effective, why do most kids still need tutoring? If one-on-one tutoring is beneficial, why not just upload videos or let parents hire tutors at home and allow private exams? Kids could use their free time to take courses that help them upgrade their skills. We could have school twice a week with no books, focusing only on discussions or experiments.

What you call "job market" has history of ~350 years starting from industrial revolution in late 18th Century. When steam powered machine finally broke the production limit of human and animal labour a new kind of human skills were required to operate these machines, manage the workers who learned those skills, accounting business transactions and so on. However computer and information technology in 20th century gradually reduced the role of humans for these job. AI and IoT will also take away the role customer support, programmer and so on. The job market you know are going to die.
My goal is not fear mongering. But to open your eyes to learn how world and nature work to create value that enhance lifespan, health and happiness which is at all time low.
Be an entrepreneur. Identifying problem and finding solution are going to be most important competency in this era. Be more multi disciplinary because solutions are not going to be come from one domain of knowledge.

We need to give respect to skill based jobs like electrician, plumbing, carpentry, painting(such individuals can become self employed and don't have to be dependent on jobs) People look down on these very important jobs and everyone wants their kids to be doctors or engineers... no. We need people of all fields and we have to respect them. In Germany, less than 50% people go for university degrees. Mostly people opt for apprenticeship or work experience to improve their skills.

      **What is unemployment?**
Unemployment refers to the situation when a person has skills but is unable to meet their basic needs with the income they earn because of inflation. As a result, they search for a better job while still being employed in a current one. This is also considered a form of unemployment.
Every year, millions of engineers graduate, and many of them secure jobs with salaries ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 rupees per month. However, with the rising cost of living, it's almost impossible for them to sustain themselves on such a salary. Consequently, they start looking for better jobs, which also puts them in the category of unemployed. It’s unfair to blame students for lacking skills when the real issue is the inadequacy of wages to meet basic living standards.

Majority of private institutions and professional colleges are churning out graduates, in exchange of exorbitant fees , who are not fit to be graduates even if you compare them even with those who graduated in India 30-40 years back. Basic skills like reading , writing and Arithmetic are not being grasped by average student in school.

A bigger problem than unemployment is actually under employment. And that is one of the reasons why qualified people leave India. An architect, a doctor, a teacher works much harder than what they do in developed countries, but they are paid peanuts comparison to their efforts. Indians need to be taught topics of choice and not subjects. Make exam system 30% written, 30% MCQ, 30% presentation and practical and 10% social work. Have tie ups with foreign countries for 5 years citizenship exchange program for all age groups. Reduce work hours to 6 per day per employee and making working hours 24 per day wherever possible to handle growing joblessness. People and their unjustified expectations and demands and attitude is the problem. As per rough estimates, their are 30 lakhs+ shops in India involved in sarafa market. Each and every shop requires atleast one employee to assist them. But each of them is afraid to hire a new person. Now u think, why??? The answer is hidden in this paragraph itself.

Agree what we need is investment in innovation and making it easy for people to do business . Today big corporates threat you either they buy you or destroy you . Then give money in hand of people and encourage them to buy this can be done by reducing taxes ( which is completely opposite to the present policy ), govt should work on law and order so it doesn’t happen it someone from outside want to invest they have to mind bout safety of their employees, small and medium should be encourage and given offers or incentives. I tell my experience, I worked on big projects in Europe like equivalent to 80cr Indian rupee or 100cr and so on. Thought lete come to India set factory and create job and also do R&D to create innovation and you can make more money on that via export. To be honest this country is far more hostile and difficult. If you get through start up India funds coz you don’t have some network to give them bribe which is 40% of the fund money u are denied. If you still get it all then other companies take you as threat and bombard you with legal notice.while if you business in another country the system is easy and they help in so many ways and if they know you got patent or innovation based product investors are happy to invest.

No, I do not agree with the person in the red shirt. Academia is not solely about teaching technical skills. While industries focus on making money, academia operates on a low-profit and low-loss basis. Academia works from a philosophical standpoint, making original discoveries and setting the rules of science. Only then can science be utilized to develop new technology. I strongly believe that academia must be research-oriented, academic research is more advanced than industry research. What industries think today (or developing the technologies now), academic research though about 50-100 years ago and keep the foundation and set rules therefore industry is now able to making product. For example, the idea of the quantum computer was proposed by Prof. Richard Feynman approximately 50-60 years ago. Quantum computers are based on the laws of quantum mechanics, which originated in 1905. After 100 years, a professor experimentally verified quantum entanglement, a basic component of quantum internet and computing. Now, industries are working on quantum computing research and trying to develop quantum processors. So, don't say academic research is useless. Every research effort contributes to technological development. Without understanding the underlying science, one cannot develop any technology.

It is not that IITians do not have to think hard about what they want to do in life once they get into IIT. Once they (1000 out of 12 lakh IIT aspirants) get into IIT, they do not necessarily assume that a job offer is ready for them to grab 4 years down the line. IIT is just a world famous educational brand that takes you only up to a point. Nothing more. Nothing less. It is about giving your best, being dedicated, disciplined and grateful for whatever opportunity we get in our journey through the ladder irrespective of whether we are IITians or not. Think about Satya Nadella (B Tech from Manipal Institute of Technology) leading Microsoft.

    (1) primary schooling is just as important as higher education. It is here that people acquire life time habits of decision makers ng, interpersonal skills, a solid broad overview of the world. Based upon these basic foundations, the students are mentally ;& emotionally better placed to make informed decisions regarding graduation & post graduation decisions for pursuing suitable careers later on.
    (2) India's investment in R&D is VERY poor. Therefore, we have become a "copy & paste" nation. This mind set has to change.

What about the job opportunities for them?

Education is meant for learning and acquiring knowledge, not for getting jobs. You get a job if you possess the skills required for the job. Education enables you to acquire the skills. But you yourself have to work on developing and mastering the right skills. Students and parents are confused. They expect to get jobs by mere possession of a degree. Having a degree is necessary, but not sufficient to get a job.

Engineering is a skill base degree but why engineering students are unemployed.
    What is unemployment?

The same people who work outside India become top leaders in world leading innovation companies. You must have heard even Elon Musk naming one Indian person Ashok Elluswamy for driving the Tesla Autopilot project successfully ,Musk even went on saying - Without Ashok, Tesla would just be another car company. Same story is not heard here.
The problem is not with India's talent pool, but rather with Indian investors who wants quick return for their money. They are not ready to wait for 3-5 years for building something major, rather they'd want quick profits. This discourages the organizations or startups to start some R&D , and focus is given on service oriented business.
