African art made of wood: Millenium Handcraft Ukunda Kenya

- 144 wood carvers produce African works of art from wood in Ukunda Diani.
I visited them at the Millenium handcraft Co-Operative in the middle of Ukunda (Kwale County ,Kenya) and learned a lot about wood types, techniques and design. If you are planning to spend your vacation at Diani Beach at some point: Take the opportunity to visit. I was given a very warm welcome and could not imagine how difficult it is to make a small or even a large work of art out of wood with simple tools.

You hit me right in the heart with this topic 💘, because I absolutely love these kinds of accessories and would love to decorate my apartment with them. I was even given a handmade bowl from Ukunda once and it has a place of honor on my shelf. Even though my English isn't perfect, I understood the most important things and the report really impressed me 🥰. Sehr interessant wieder mit den unterschiedlichen Holzarten und wie lange an einem Souvenir gearbeitet wird. Das "betrunkene" Zebra als Flaschenhalter wäre auch mein favorisiertes Souvenier. Genial..😂👌🏽👍🏽
