Lecker! Erst dachte ich: Sand?..Was soll das?- Aber dann hab ich es gesehen! Vielleicht hättest du es kurz erwähnen sollen, das er zum zentrieren und isolieren des Zwischenraums von Backform und Übertopf dient! Wieder was gelernt, Danke Tom!
Welcome to my channel dear Elizabeth 😊 I appreciate your comment and subscription 🙏🏽 I you will come anytime to Diani let me know, I will bake the cake for you again 😀 happy weekend 👋🏽
Thank you Abdul 😊 I will try to keep a good relation between my mother tongue and English language and I promise to bring some German recipes where the ingredients can be bought easily here in Kenya! Nice to meet you here on TH-cam 👋🏽
Welcome to Tom's Cookery Studio. 😊😍👌🏽Great video again dear Tom. I didn't know about the sand in the Sufuria, but it makes sense so that the soil doesn't burn. And charcoal on top is similar to a real oven with top and bottom heat. THANKS also to Lilli for the delicious cake template. Cute how you kept looking into the camera from below. Yummy yummy yummy! By the way, almost 200 subscribers, respect. 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
youtube.com/@conjestarmwashy?si=jXO7CwaV4seKLR9g Thanks my dear Wolfi, I appreciate your comment 😊 and imagine conjestar watched my video and recommended my channel to her subscribers. It was such a kind and lovely present to me. I have linked her channel at the beginning of my response to you. Her music will be sweet balm for you ears too. Happy weekend 👋🏽 hope to see you soon when you're back in Kenya 🤗
Small TH-camrs allways should support each other 🤗 if they do an interesting content 👍🏽 I enjoyed the way Lily did her content and she really inspired me to bake on Jiko
Thank you Maxwell, yes indeed I did it the first time to bake a cake in a sufuria on a Jiko 🤗 once I heard about that Kenyans are baking that way. Then I found lily's video here on TH-cam....it was so exciting to bake the village way of my Kenyan fellows. Have a great weekend ahead 😊🤗
Thank you dear Cindy 😊 welcome to my small community here ! I will try to do my best to introduce some German style food during my next English language videos. Have a lovely weekend 👋🏽🤗
Thank you for this very nice cooking show 🥧! I would love to see more of first-try-recipes. Hopefully the sand is not between your teeth 😁. Great idea to bake in a traditional way. Is Schwarzwälder-Kirsch-Torte another idea? What do you prefer in a cake: chocolate, nuts, fruits, cream, quark, pudding? I am curious about decoration possibilities 😃. I am sure your cake tastes very good 👌🏼 To be continued...
Hello dear Angelika, I used a commercially available industrially refined palm oil to which vitamins A and D are added. In contrast to our selection in Germany, rapeseed oil or sunflower oil, for example, are hardly available, or if they are, they are very expensive. I was particularly surprised when I found peanut oil for the first time: the price blew me away! And that in a country where peanuts can grow in any garden. I remember from my time in Germany that peanut oil was particularly cheap. I really liked using it for frying and grilling at high temperatures because it is ideal for this and is also neutral in taste. I use olive oil for Mediterranean dishes and salads. You also have to dig deeper into your pockets if you want it "extra virgin", i.e. from the first cold pressing.
🤣 You want to lead me up the slippery slope and see how I slip on it 🤣 Unfortunately, I have to disappoint you because I'm not really a cake baker. I recently baked an apple and vanilla cake on shortcrust pastry at my daughter's express request. It was my birthday present to her. OK, it was a success...but I won't be making it again. I love baking bread and my own pizza creations. But cakes? Yes, the village cake, that was really fun. I will bake it again....in my electric oven 🤗😘🤗
@@TomInKenya oh that's interesting! So I think you can maybe also use coconut oil for baking. Then you will have a little coconut flavor in it 😉. Rapseed oil is what I mostly use for baking here in Germany, the taste is neutral. Olive oil is nearly as expensive as peanut oil at the moment. But olive oil is very very healthy and delicious for meat or vegetables and so on.
@@TomInKenya😂😂 No worries, I don't want to convince you to become a confectioner. So your sweet tooth is not big. I'm looking forward to your pizza creations! 🥰 For veggie lovers I can recommend fennel with gorgonzola on it. Ham will fit in there too 😘😉 Have lovely weekend 🙋🏻♀️🤠
