I was thinking the same thing about EP’s version having more feeling. I appreciate Frank Sinatra’s talent and have several of his CD’s. But I never truly felt that his voice communicated a depth of feeling. For me, Presley ALWAYS communicates emotion. I know it got to the point that he often had to tell his fans that not every song he sang was autobiographical. When I listened to the Aloha concert after his passing, I did feel that his singing of My Way spoke to the course of his life but that was just me. What a voice, what a storyteller, entertainer. 45 years since he passed and he is still the GOAT.
@@memphisflashfan1 For me there's one song where Sinatra really was story telling, "One for my baby and one more for the road" and that song was at his best when Sinatra was already in his late 60s during the "Ultimate Event" tour together with Liza and Sammy.
@@bertsplci Definitely. I truly enjoy several Sinatra albums. For example, “wee small hours of the morning.” And yet, if I was going to be isolated on a desert island and could only take one artist’s collected works with me, EP would be my choice.

I have been a fan of ELVIS PRESLEY for 65 years and believe me, I truely love this wonderful man! He was the best entertainer that has ever lived! He was the most handsome, most charismatic, and most generous person that ALSO ever lived! It is very sad that the youth of today don't have talented personalities to really be inspired by. The singers of today do not have to hone their craft; why should they? They have auto tuners and other types of musical enhancers for that! But, all in all, they are really lacking something that is very special...the knowledge and the feeling, that they WORKED to be that GOOD! And even with the auto tuners, they still can't sing like an ELVIS, The Beetles, or a Tom Jones!!! They just didn't put the time in! These young singers are leaving their fans lacking that wonderful thing, called Super-Stardom! It is actually very sad! ELVIS was, is, and always will be THE KING OF ROCK and ROLL!!! He said that he did NOT want that title but he definitely DESERVED it! Thank you for a SPECTACULAR reaction!

FYI this was from Elvis' unprecedented worldwide satellite concert from Hawaii called "Aloha Hawaii", it was the very first worldwide satellite broadcast of a concert, the only world wide feed ever done before this was when they televised the Apollo moon landing worldwide by satellite - a real piece of music history and Elvis did it first. RIP ELVIS

I think 1973 was Elvis at his peak!! I grew up with Elvis. I used to swing dance with my two oldest sister's when I was 4. They turned me on to him, way back then! And he's been in my heart ever since. There is one more thing I'd like to say....if you think he's good at rock n roll, you need to hear him sing gospels!! There are 3 hymns he sings, that make me get tears! In the chapel, Take my hand, Who am I, and in my opinion his very best... How Great Thou' Art!!

No one, NO ONE can deliver a song better than Elvis! Bridge Over Troubled Water covered by Elvis feels like a religious experience. I highly, HIGHLY recommend that one. I promise, you’ll FEEL every word. It’s my absolute favorite rendition of that song HANDS DOWN. Plus, he’s beautiful to look at. Even men have commented on his beauty. Even if he was a natural blonde and had some work done, he’s still have taken my breath away. Too bad he was gone before I was fully out of diapers. It didn’t stop me from learning all I could about him growing up. I can’t wait to go back to Graceland to feel his presence again. It was so weird, in a good way. I felt like I was getting a spiritual hug. I know it sounds crazy, believe me. But, I swear it’s the truth. That man’s essence lives on in that home. Mega fan or not, it’s well worth going. Even my hubby had a good time there. I hate when people say that he had this and that in him. Noooo…people took from HIM. The Cadillacs and bling were his thing LOOOONG before “rappers” came along. Some trivia:re: the Hawaii show: Producer/director Marty Pasetta told Parker he wanted to build a ramp for Elvis to walk out onto & Parker said no; Pasetta explained that it would be 8 ft. wide & Elvis could stay in the middle or go to the left or to the right if he wanted to (Pasetta knew how important the audience was to Elvis); Parker said no; fortunately, Pasetta was able to meet w-Elvis & he explained exactly what he told Parker; Fortunately again, Elvis overrode Parker & told Pasetta to build the ramp. Paseta told Elvis he wanted him to lose 25 lbs., which Elvis did. Elvis then hugged Pasetta & said you are one of the few people who has been totally honest w-me. Imagine how different that concert would have been if Elvis didn't have close contact w-his audience. HE would have been just as spectacular, but to not allow him access to 'his people" would have given that concert quite a different feel. Thank you.
