My thoughts exactly. The idiot who wrote this version obviously didn't do his home work to find out anything about the Creepers character before turning him into a slasher without purpose instead of the creature he truly is. In slasher movies killers tend to kill for reasons other than their own survival, but the Creeper tends to kill to keep on living. When he isn't killing to keep from being killed he is killing to eat what he needs to survive on and then after his time of eating he goes back into a long bear like hibernation, but instead of waking after the winter months he wakes up every 23 years. I would like to know why 23 years? What significance does 23 years have for the greater of the JeepersCreepers series? I hate that the greedy money Hollywood whores destroyed this movie...because at the end of the day...they weren't worried about making a quality film that made sense.... all they worried about was the fact that they knew the fans of this movie franchise who pay money to see this movie and once someone paid to see the movie it didn't matter if the movie sucked and they walked out....they still got paid.
@@lindas5200 The Creeper is a slasher villain what defies a slasher villain is an unstoppable killing machine they racks up bodies, that's what the Creeper do. The thing that worked about the first jeepers creepers film, at least for me, is that it really felt like an urban myth. It felt like a scary story you’d hear from a friend on a camping trip. Hell I remember in school kids would just retell the whole plot of the movie around the lunch table as if it’s a story they just made up. The franchise has never been able to recreate that vibe imo.
Legit. Before I ever saw the movie or even knew it was a movie I heard about the Creeper and his song and thought it was a urban legend. It scared the piss outta me and I had nightmares. And now it's one of my top 10 horror movies.
I agree with a made the creeper “scary” was the mysterious vibe of not knowing if it was a creature, man, alien or a hybrid of both. I always wanted them to do stand-alone story of the creeper being in the Wild West since he kind of dresses like a cowboy. like how they did the new predator movie where the predator was in a time period they could do the same thing with the creeper. Which would kind of explain too why he kinda has that cowboy 🤠 look. It still would be a sequel too
Yeah especially the first half of the movie where there is so much mystery. You don't know whether it's some crazy serial killer, or a monster or whatever

@@willfanofmanyii3751 Well JC1 had a budget of 10 mil, JC2 had 17 mil. Both movies are a lot of fun so Salva, with the right funding, could create a perfect end to the franchise.
I just want a true sequel to the second movie... awakening in the barn, fighting the taggarts, returning characters like Trish and some from the second movie teaming up for revenge, finding out the creepers weaknesses as well as what he is and where he came from... and defeating him for good to let the franchise finally end... As well as actually filming in real locations on empty highways at night like the first 2 did... the first 2 had very little day time scenes but would hide the creepers face and it was done well.
The first two movies and even the third one had a budget. Seriously everything you said is basically what we should’ve gotten. It’s sad cause we will 99% will never get a true sequel to that ending. Like the creeper literally in his movie is coming out of an abandoned building like not even a barn.
I don't know to be honest. I've always felt like a lot of the horror of the creeper came from the fact that you don't know what he is or where he came from. He's almost Lovecraftian in that we know nothing about and probably couldn't even hope to comprehend his true nature. I also like the ambiguity of Jeepers Creepers 2's ending where you aren't sure if he's dead or not.
The very beginning of this video when he said "weip, you can nail THAT coffin the fuck shut...." Literally had me laughing for like a half a minute. 🤣🤣🤣
Sometimes motive isn't needed and makes something far scarier. As you said, the Creeper eats, feeds off fear, does its thing for 23 days and then goes to hibernate. An antagonist creature/ villain doesn't need to be deep to be effective and scary.
Yeah same here. They are coming out with s2. So stupid. I gave it a try because i thought an adult rated Scooby would be cool. But nope. No scooby. Black shaggy. Indian Velma.. acted nothing like the gang. But I should have expected it from a woke most likely feminist person. Cant stand her as a person and she ruined the gang. I hate her and Velma almost as much as Reborn
They should invest in a prequel set in the dark ages, and and sequel released in 2023, exactly 23 after the first one. When the creature wakes up, and the father is waiting. We deserve it.
One of the reasons the first Jeepers Creepers is so good is the chemistry of the leads and Justin Long's performance in particular. You're really rooting for him and the film works better when the leads are at the forefront and not the monster. Long doesn't get enough credit as an actor IMO.
It's a slasher flick, who gives a shit about character development or chemistry? Aside from the final girl and the killer, everybody gets merked. That's how it's supposed to be. I am more interested in how they're gonna die, they don't even need to give them names for all I care🤷
@@jayvoorhees4170 Trust me. I love a good slasher flick. But the first JC isn't really that. It's more of a monster movie, like Fright Night or Tremors, and in horror movies like that, the characters are just as important as the monster chasing them.
@@TheJrod482x fair point, the first one is definitely more monster than slasher. The other two settled in to the slasher subgenre and I like those. So when they announced this 4th / reboot, I definitely didn't have high hopes 🤷
This felt like a student film to me, and like I felt in my summary “Jeepers Creepers Reborn” is the Hot Topic of horror sequels, in that it’s attempting to be trendy, failing to be cool, and twelve dollars more than I should’ve rightfully spent.”
Man, as a fan of the first two films I am so disappointed. The Creeper is such a cool and unique horror creature with so much potential, fans of the franchise see the potential it's why people have remained loyal to the franchise all these years later and why we get so upset that it seems we will never get a resolution to the ending of JC2. This is definitely the end of the franchise. I don't see it being brought back. If Jeepers Creepers comes back in some capacity after this, I will truly be shocked.
@@boomstickcritique902 Unfortunately it will probably fall in the Hellraiser abyss. But at least they've resurrected that franchise into seems like a interesting series coming soon

Hearing Cody rant about this movie and seeing other reviews made me confirm that this movie makes the 3rd one look like a masterpiece.
I think my favorite part was when the creeper got sad because they broke his record player lol. Really made me feel for a monster that dragged a little kid away in a horrific scene, just to scare him. And give a big middle finger to his dad
I made it a little past the whole cosplay runway part before I realized this is the actual movie it's not some weird parody bit it's the actual movie. I only watched like a half hour but I felt rage creeping into my soul the whole time.
So much potential, all of it squandered. The Creeper has existed in universe for centuries. Maybe they could make movies about him in different time periods? I think he'd fit really well in the old west. His outfit has always had a western vibe and I love western horror.
That would make a great idea if it were executed correctly. And it just goes to show if they gathered 10 legitimate JC fans with a small budget they could make a good movie. Even the kill scenes would be better than this.
I think Halloween ends might be the biggest disappointment this year big time I think people going to riot my buddy saw the latest screening he told I might love it how super weird it is and different
Ever since the second movie I've been convinced that the creeper represents Victor Salva. If filmmakers could keep that in mind as well as pay attention to why the creeper does what he does, they could probably make a decent sequel.

In my opinion: They should get Brad Parker on board. He’s the one who made the original designs, artwork, and storyboard for the first Jeepers Creepers. The next thing I would do is bring Francis Ford Coppola back as Producer. The way I see it, bringing back the legendary filmmaker would influence other serious parties to wanna join in. I sort of stumbled across your channel and it made my day. I LOVE the Creeper, he is one of the greatest, original design monsters to come along in ages and YES I know NO ONE but this tight little core of us who know who he is, his backstory and have never seen these films, and yet, he remains solidly awesome for we, the Creeper Crew. Thank you for your review, you have saved me precious time of theatre face palming, verging on tears and just start yelling "YEET THIS!" at the top of my lungs. I was so excited he was on his way back. I'm just so damn grateful for you right now I can't tell you. But it's nice to know there's a tight little Creeper Crew dudes out there, happily enjoying how awesome he looks. Maybe in the next tragic installment we'll find out how he learned to drive a converted tow truck from the 1940s and the thing that finally vanquishes him is having to stand in line at the DMV to renew his registration. (which I actually want to make.) Thanks for suffering for us.
Dude, you hit the nail on the head with EVERYTHING in this video. Agree 100%. Saw it last night and I’m kind of insulted by how bad this was….the first scene was fine, but yeah, confusing as hell. And then we get into the main story and….it’s just garbage. When the voodoo lady first showed up, I asked my wife if this was a fan film and I expected the actress(?) to say “Paging Mr Herman. Paging Mr. Herman. You have a telephone call at the front desk” before looking straight into the camera. From that moment, I knew we were in for some dog shit. 😂🤦🏻♂️
What’s more sad is that they marketed this as a soft reboot/sequel acknowledging all prior installments and using some of the comic book elements. I saw it coming that four was gonna be as terrible as JC3. That one ATOM ticket review from last week further proved my point. They just confirmed our pessimism, just wow. It had everything going against it and they didn’t stick the landing at all. They were nowhere near it.
@@famousthaneus9810 Both. It treats the events of the first three films as having happened in some form, but the original three movies themselves are meant to be movies based on those events.
@@famousthaneus9810 This adds a whole lot to his mythos which makes adding the comic book shizzle pointless. They threw everything at the wall to see what stuck. I was wondering for months why the poster had a stroller, didn’t think it would be like Rosemary’s Baby in the slightest though. Or any other movie for that matter. And The Creeper itself is just abysmal. But at least it proved my point. At least for now. The point being the thing on the back of his head is in fact operating him, at least when weak, going into hibernation or feeling threatened. Like a parasite or host except he as a whole is the parasite IMO just getting body parts to regenerate. Just like in two. It wasn’t a one time thing. The parasite itself was helping him eat people in this movie and it didn’t even pick up after the barn.
I liked the scene of the crows swarming the Creeper's body and having it be gone when they flew away. I also liked one moment where it smiled for the camera; that was the one time I thought the Creeper actually looked ok. But that's about it...everything else was bad.
This is such a great review Cody. I recently just watched the OG Jeepers Creepers film and I really liked it. Still need to watch 2 but the fact that they put out this out and didn’t give us the fans a satisfying ending with her and the old man team up to defeat the Creeper once and for all is just sad. I am really sorry, Cody, because this one probably hurt you the most.

Love your channel! I think that years later and time and distance from whatever the hell this movie was, you should be one to reboot the Creeper and do the series justice since you love the original film controversy aside and might have better ideas than some people in the film business. Also you still going to do a ranking of the series since you said you were at the end of this video and I know you've been very busy to get to it correct me if I'm wrong. Even though the ranking might, it would still be cool to see as I like hearing your updated thoughts on something and saying something new when describing films of a horror series, good or bad or in between.

From what I heard, the first Jeepers creepers movie was suppose to be based on a segment from the original Unsolved Mysteries show. That kinda explains the first few minutes of the movie with Dee Williams.
I once had a conversation about horror movies where someone came up with a simple but brilliant notion for a film - Pumpkinhead Versus Jeepers Creepers. Two American folk horror icons, that have both been sadly mishandled for many years, that could work well together on screen. Pumpkinhead is more Southern States while the Creeper seems to be more closely associated with the Mid Western plains, but the Creeper clearly has a substantial range it operates in and it is not so unreasonable that the most southerly extent of its range could overlap with the area haunted by Haggis and the Demon of Vengeance. This movie would helpfully practically write itself too. You set it 23 years after the first two movies. The Creeper rises from its seeming death, gruesomely regenerates its wounds in the usual way, and returns to its cycle of feeding. You could have Trish from the first movie, now a woman in early middle age, teaming up with the younger Taggart to try to track the creature, following it as it appears to migrate Southwards. Along the way, the Creeper attacks, kills, and eats parts of someone important to a character who either already knows about the unnaturally long lived Haggis and the... unique services she offers, or learns about her as they try to discover what happened to their loved one. Knowing that they have little likelihood of ever getting vengeance on something so monstrous as the Creeper by any other means, they go to the woods witch and make a fateful deal, unleashing Vengeance - cruel, devious, pure as venom - once more into the world, to seek the destruction of the Creeper and to kill those the Summoner blames for abandoning or failing to save their loved one, even if they don't consciously acknowledge their desire for vengeance on all of those people. As each monster acts according to its nature the bodies start to pile up and local law enforcement arrive to get caught n the middle of the escalating carnage before the two creatures clash, most probably repeatedly since neither can easily be killed. Perhaps the Creeper, being intelligent, tries to kill the Summoner or Haggis to get rid of Pumpkinhead that way, only for the Demon of Vengeance to intervene. Perhaps attempts to destroy both creatures as they battle result in many more persons winding up on the Creeper's menu or being killed by Pumpkinhead for getting in the way of its mission of vengeance. You could even have Lance Henricksen appear as either a vision seen by the Summoner, or playing a cousin of Ed Harley who knows the story of Pumpkinhead and informs the Summoner about it or gives information to the protagonists. If Freddy versus Jason can make money, I am sure this match up could too.
@@tyronleung5276 Unlike Pumpkinhead, the Creeper does not appear to be tied down to any one location or region - all we have seen so far is its more recent hunting ground. It is basically a case of 'have insatiable appetite for human flesh, will travel'. It wouldn't be so difficult to find a reason for the two to run into one another.

His description and rant on how he felt about the movie is identical to my thoughts on Velma. 😂
Your impersonations were far more entertaining that the whole movie. Thank you for that! And I share your frustration: I too felt insulted and robbed.
They should invest in a prequel set in the dark ages, and and sequel released in 2023, exactly 23 after the first one. When the creature wakes up, and the father is waiting. We deserve it.
The first Jeepers Creepers came out in 2001

All of us fans of the originals who understand the character and knows what a new movie would need should get together and make it 😂
One of the reasons the first Jeepers Creepers is so good is the chemistry of the leads and Justin Long's performance in particular. You're really rooting for him and the film works better when the leads are at the forefront and not the monster.
Long doesn't get enough credit as an actor IMO.
For true! The second one was decent just goofy and the plot felt messed up
It's a slasher flick, who gives a shit about character development or chemistry?

In my opinion: They should get Brad Parker on board. He’s the one who made the original designs, artwork, and storyboard for the first Jeepers Creepers.

I was so excited he was on his way back. I'm just so damn grateful for you right now I can't tell you.
Did this end up being a soft requel or is this movie operating completely on its own new lore?
From what I heard, the first Jeepers creepers movie was suppose to be based on a segment from the original Unsolved Mysteries show. That kinda explains the first few minutes of the movie with Dee Williams.
Great review my man, you hit it spot on. The fans should of made this movie.
The creeper supposed to take place in Southern Florida and pumpkin head from north Carolina Tennessee area in the Appalachian mountains
