Bro can you tell if there are any problems or anything that i shall know before buying it. It's gonna be my first laptop and I'm cs student, so could you tell me what os you are using and what platforms you use for coding
I still use this as my personal machine. I've replaced the keyboard, the battery, and swapped out the logic board for one with an i7 and 8GB of RAM, which makes a BIG difference. Big Sur is a too much for it though. It's quite possibly one of the best laptops Apple ever made.
You inspired me! I just picked one up for $110 on eBay. I owned a 2012 11 inch, bought it brand new and loved it. Looking forward to having another one. Thanks for the great video!
I recently got a 2014 11" macbook air and from a previous ThinkPad user I can say that the macbook screen is way better. And I got it for 100 € with the original box and accessories plus a thunderbolt to HDMI dongle.
Watching this on my 2013 MacBook Air.had it since brand new and even though it can't be undated to the latest macOS anymore it still works like a beast.
I've been on a iMac/Macbook binge it shocks me how cheap people let these devices go for how functional they are! I have a 2013 macbook air (i5, 4gb, 256gb) I got for 40$, and a Macbook Pro 2013 Retina (i5, 8gb, 256gb) for only $40 as well! Even changing the battery on these babies is less than 50$ and extremely EASY! These macbooks are awesome, somehow the 4gbs of RAM is enough to keep it going strong! I highly recommend looking at older iMacs as well, I've gotten some for under 30$ and they are even better the macbooks in terms of performance and upgradability!
@@MacTek Couldn't have said it better! Even the 2015 are a pain in their own sense because of how proprietary things were, no upgrades!!! The sweet spot I think is 2012-2014 because parts are readily available, they're cheap, and they're so easy to upgrade! Max ram, max SSD and Open patcher hahahahah!
It's funny how people in the interwebs say that 8GB RAM in a latest M2 Mac is not good for anything other than light work - Apple knows what they are doing and the base MacBook Airs will last for years if you look after them - your video is one good example for that.
I recently got one for 75 USD in eBay, I love it, it’s super portable super light, the chasis feels sturdy and while 8GB feel like barely enough, the machine keeps up. It’s also perfectly fine for Steam in-home streaming for whenever I wanna do some couch gaming
@@rjkrjk3066 mine's an early 2015, so it's on macOS 12 monterey and I ocasionally use windows 10 through bootcamp. Both OSes are still receiving security updates, but I'm conscious that won´t last further than 2025, but hey, I wanted something light and cheap for my last year in college
Great video! I have the same one…got it when it was released back in 2013. Still going strong. My cycle count is around 400. 66 is very low! Do you think the battery was replaced?
I love that the macbook air batteries are so cheap nowadays whether on Amazon or Ebay! I replaced the battery for a 2013 macbook air for 20$ and fully expected junk performance, BUT i wanted to test the lower end battery since it was like a 10$ difference. Months down the line and that battery has been amazing! Previous battery had 2200 cycles....
i have this but I bought a new iMac. I haven't used my Macbook air for over a year now. I'm trying to start using it again. Do you think it would still be good in 2024?
I'm having a shitty problem. My brother pooped in my Macbook Air 11 inch and closed the lid. I didn't find it for like a month. It was hard to open as the poop essentially turned to brown cement. Now its a Crapbook Pro. 💩
i am using this for my cs degree still a beast
Any tips you can lend me? ima be starting CS courses this January 8th coming up lol

My mother bought it and used less than 30times 😂 still same as new

Truth. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a MacBook newer than like 2015. (Unless I hit the lottery or something)

I got the 2015 one with 8gb ram the screen was broke so it was only 25$ if you go the repair route you can really save a new used screen was 40$

Left dock alignment is a top G on my daily driver 2017 MacBook Air!
Excellent review! I am patiently watching the Ebay searches...Thanks
I would love to see videos about your flight school journey, hoping to start my RPL license next year!

Lucky you. Found an 8 gig one. For a great price.
I can’t edit my music on mine. It’s 4 g. Ugh.
what about software updates ?

I got a 2015 one and it works great 👍
I'm going to buy this I'm excited! I really like the background at 0:54! where did you get it?

2 questions:
1. When did you buy this?
2. How long are you going to use it for?
About 2 months ago and will probably use it for the next 2 years.
I've been thinking of getting one of these as a dedicated Obsidian machine.

Just ordered a 13in earlier today 😊
Don’t think you’re going to do video/ audio recordings much. Mine won’t let me edit music without it slowing down. Ugh.
I’ve had one since 2014 still works great apart from the battery ( I didn’t have the 11” tho)
It can be upgraded to 16G ram 2T SSD, I just do it!
How
Does it still get security updates?
I have question for you. Are you able to edit the 1080p videos on this Macbook air 2013 on imovie video editing software?
Dude i want a mac just for Garageband. It's a good idea or should go for M1 or M2 stuff?
it's night and day difference
Get the M1 and keep it until Apple stops support.
nice, how did you install big surf on it. I am havig one with Sierra and trying to upgrade to bigSurf

Hello everyone does Airdrop work on these? Thanks in advance
