    Hey guys! My vitiligo appeared 1 month ago, on my hand and it's already pretty big. I am 17. I was worried at first, because i thought it may be showing that i have some serious illness. As soon as i found out it's vitiligo. I felt relieved, that it is not dangerous in any way and quite frankly, i love how it looks! It seems so unique and interesting and it's okay to be different in some way. I have seen a lot of vitiligo people on the internet and all of you look gorgeous, so don't be ashamed of it! I know some questions about it may be annyoing, but people will always have stupid questions anyway, no matter who you are haha. I hope you accept or at least will accept your vitiligo one day. Be strong. Love you all so much!

    I just found out a couple of months ago that I have vitiligo on one of my eyebrows, it's not that bad, but suddenly having some white eyebrow hair was just irritating haha. I actually learned to like it though.
    It's great hearing someone else talk about this and I actually don't think there's anything bad about the vitiligo on your face. You can barely notice it anymore and it makes you look unique, wich is always a good thing. Keep up the good work, I love you channel!

    Tess thank you for sharing your story. I've had Vitiligo for the past 29 years. What started as a small patch on my neck is pretty much scattered in several places on my body. Granted in 1998 when this came about, there wasn't much known about it, other than that Michael Jackson had it. My father had a small case of it growing up, so more than likely my case was hereditary. From 1988 to 1997, I covered with dyes and makeups. Of course none ever matched my true skin color, which drew even more attention. It wasn't until I was a senior in high school that I decided to stop using the dyes/makeups. I was already self-conscious enough, and if I was about to graduate from high school and go into college, I needed to embrace me for me. I did try some of the topical cortisone creams around 2003? after a dermatologist had suggested it. Really didn't help at all. I'll randomly hear about new treatments that are out, and I decline. My spots make me well me. If people have an issue with it, it's their problem not mine. I have a fairly light complexion, so my spots are only noticeable during the summer time when I get a little tan. Once again, thanks for sharing.

    Hey Tess! I can really understand your story since I have vitiligo as well. I was a bit surprised when I saw your video in my sub box! Mine spreads from my belly button to my right knee, and came out of the blue too when I was around 12. I can totally get your frustration on the lack of information there is about it and how nerve-braking it is not knowing how it will evolve. Also, the fact that it is very "out there" for people to see or comment on is quite difficult to deal with, it's not something that you can choose to share or not. I also used to feel quite "guilty" concerning over it, given that it's a disease that solely affects the way you look.. but it really messed with my self-confidence. As you, I have come to terms with it and I've gained a different perspective as years go by. I see it now as more of a challenge that strengthened my journey with self-love and self-image and as a constant reminder of how easily (and uncontrollably) our bodies can change and thus, where the true value of a person resides. Thanks for sharing your story and cheers to uniqueness!

    I have a skin condition called melasma that's kind of like the opposite. I get dark patches of skin on my face and it worsens in the sun cuz the melanin is stimulated. I first got it from being on birth control and I've been off of bc for about two years now and still have it. It sucks when people make comments or you can tell they're staring at it. I have it over my lip too so it looks like a mustache, which I've had kids I teach at my job say as well. Thanks for putting this out there for people that might be struggling with vitiligo. I know I feel a little better when I see people's videos about melasma

    Hi Tess! I discovered your channel a few days ago and have been watching all of your videos till I got to this one that really spoke out to me. I also had vitiligo when I was about 7/8 years old. It was big and very white and covered basically all of my eyelids and chin! I remember people always noticing it and asking if I used white eyeshadow, or something but I was so young at the time that I was not caring AT ALL!! But I can imagine that if I were your age (when we girls start being self concious about our body), that I would actually care a lot more... Thankfully I found a great imported treatment (a cuban one)- one cream, one medicine and light sessions - that helped me so much that dont have any marks anymore! im so glad you incorporated yours so well! Thank you so much for sharing your story! kisses xx

    I have vitiligo myself. I'm 26 now but it appeared when I was 22.
    1st thing to understand about vitiligo: It is a "reaction" ....NOT a "disease." You are correct that there are many things that cause it.
    2.) THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU. Your body is working just like its supposed to. Those with vitiligo usually just have extra powerful cells and when incompatible foreign substances are introduce to your body, your body will act to balance out or eliminate the cause destroying our melanocytes in the process.
    3.) The Drs' you saw each were partially correct. Vitiligo is a Fungus of the skin's cells. The Fungus comes through Mucous produced through ingestion of foods we eat that are not compatible with our physiology. (THAT's why it is hard to find a single, one pill, "cure-all".)
    Its a process to take care of it. Start with changing your diet to become more Alkaline. (Green leafy veggies MAINLY...) and then cut out acidic foods and "mucous causing" foods like anything Dairy.
    Yes. I did get rid of my vitiligo and heal my body. But it takes a few months time because 1st you must get rid of the cause of the condition, before your body can begin to heal itself (replace those destroyed cells). You'll be fine. Trust me.

      @@HappyEver-jz9px So sorry it took md this long to reply so I will try to summarize everything I did.
      My previous diet was Vegan. I combined vegan meal or protein shakes, with a spinach, kale, bananas, and loads of mixed organic berries (strawberries, blueberries, black berries, raspberries) and honey for extra sweetness.
      I ate this (2x) a day. Just breakfast and lunch. Sometimes dinner if i didn't want to cook.
      I was very physically active so my metabolism was high too which to my process.
      My current diet is a Polyphenol based intermittent fast:
      Intermittent Fast: No Dairy and No Processed Sugar, for (4-hours) after I wake up.
      Polyphenol Food: Coffee (ND+NS) with Coconut milk and Honey.
      Reason:
      Autoimmune conditions like Vitiligo and IBS are closely related to the same condition.
      When the gut has small holes (micro-tears) in its wall lining, fecal matter can escape in the body, infecting us and causing our immune system to go haywire.
      (In the case of vitiligo this results in melanocytes destruction.)
      Polyphenol foods (dark-colored, bitter, fruits and vegetables) help your gut bacteria heal those micro-tears and stop releasing fecal matter.
      High lectin foods can cause these micro-tears over time but foods like dairy and processed sugars are the biggest problem. Dairy and processed sugar can drastically reduce your polyphenols before they heal your intestinal wall.

    • @isaiahjones9283
      @isaiahjones9283 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kollojudevikasowmya1822 I used to eat vegan (vegan meal/protein shakes, with spinach, kale, raw honey and mixed berries).
      Now I focus on a Polyphenol diet. I will only eat and drink polyphenol foods and beverages.
      Polyphenol foods are dark and bitter fruits and vegetables.
      No dairy or processed sugars, for (4 hours) in the morning. Dairy and processed sugar destroy Polyphenols for your gut.
      That's all I do, though.

    Wow just today I found out I have vitiligo right in the same spot where you have it! For me it came out when I was in 7th grade at first they told me it was because of a fungus that had touched my face and then they told me it was something to do with how stressed out I would get. That was in 2012 which I was in middle school and all the way through hs I never treated it and thank God it didn’t spread wider just the parts where I had it under my lips and a bit on my lips. It went away somewhat but just recently about 2 weeks ago 2 little white spots started coming out again under my lips. I cried so much not going to lie but today they gave me treatment and hopefully it works great on my skin! Im praying to God it all goes well and doesn’t spread ❤️🙏🏽 you are gorgeous btw!

    U r brave!!!...when doctor said that I have this chronic skin disease.. I didn't burst into tears cz my inner mind was ready to hear the bad news. After visiting doctor pretty calmly I went to office .. did my regular job. Came back home and set my mind to fight against vitiligo.
    Sometimes I think God must've hate me so much and he wants to punish me.

      I really get you! I had a rare disease for years causing inflammation, pain and mental health issues...constantly beating myself up about being the one to have it out of a million...now I recovered, it seems I have vitiligo...but if living through pain for 4 years has taught me one thing, it is that no matter what life throws at you, there is a reason or purpose behind it. You will always find a way to get through some bad situations and in the end you get stronger. In other words: Stars don't shine without darkness, muscle grows by at first tearing up a bit before healing stronger...there are so many more ways to say this...I don't want to say, that one day it'll all be good, because that's not what happens, but if you shift your point of view, you find empowerment in the things that seem bad at first. Yes I have bad days, bad weeks even! But that just means I gotta figure out what makes them so bad and work at that instead of trying to self destruct my being....I really hope you are okay in the times of Corona and wish you the best for the future

    • @ishratjahan3204
      @ishratjahan3204 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No dear it broke me every possible way physically, financially and mentally. Its been rough 1 month. I have been diagnosed with corona positive for more than a months. My parents infected by me most probably. My dads situation was worse even got so worse went to ICU. But he got cured with help of God. But i m still positive. May be because i have autoimmune disease or may be i didn't get enough time to heal cz time to time i went hospital as a my patients attended. Now in isolation. Its hard...

    • @wolveshowling26
      @wolveshowling26 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ishratjahan3204 oh dear, I wish you a quick recovery...what I do want to add, is that of course my comment is not true in the short term (a few months), but in the long run you are strong. I lost a lot through my disease too you know, friends,education, every aspect of my life that gave me the smallest smile and way too much weight. At some point I was ready to leave this world, but I didn't.
      Because I knew in the long run I could make it and be happy again. Yes it broke me, for over 4 years, over and over again. But if it didn't, all the joy in my life wouldn't be here today. It taught me to expect the worst and prepare for it, so bad things have less of a mental and physical impact, and it taught me how to be more attentive to my health in every day life. I believe in you, 100%. And if you really struggle to juggle life alongside with your health, then I'd recommend the TH-cam channel of Brendon Burchard. Hes a coach for high performance in every day life and although that probably isn't exactly what you're looking for, there are so many things you can learn and apply to your life to make it better, he's a game changer.

    I got it around your age. Same thing. Responded well to treatment and I lived 30 years without it being a big deal. But now at age 45 it's come back with a vengeance! Sucks because it's super bad on hands, face etc... super noticeable. I appreciate this video because it reminds me I was lucky because it wasn't an issue during my teens, 20's, 30's and half way through my 40's. Other than when playing basketball in College in my early 20's sometimes players would say something like who jizzed on you. I'm glad I stayed out of the sun for all these years and my skin is healthy. Other than all these new stupid white spots. Such a weird disease. They said it could come back later in life and it did.

    • @LindseyGiardini
      @LindseyGiardini 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's an autoimmune disease. Fixing your gut will help it reverse. You must be disciplined but your body will thank you. My son has vitiligo and it covers his entire body and now at the age of 45 I'm getting it. I'm cutting out a lot of things in my food because I also know that I have many other issues all related to my gut health. If I fix my gut and balance my hormones I know I could keep this from spreading. So many people have tried it and done it. Also you have to take 30,000 IUD of vitamin d. That helps too. In fact, it will help all autoimmune diseases. Dr. Berg has great videos on this.

    I also have vitiligo, and I am also decently pale. My spots are mostly located on knees, hips, ankles and hands though it is also now appearing around my eyes. The existence of my vitiligo doesnt bother me although since the skin is so transparent around my eyes, people often comment on my need for sleep and have even been told my "white eye-shadow" looks really bad.

      Use protopic on the areas that youve got vitiligo on and stand in front of a UV light. basically get a light sun burn and that will make the pigments come back to the spots where youve got vitiligo. Ive been doing that for the last few years and all my normal skin colour came back on my stomach and chest and now my neck is getting better too. You can buy a UV light at homedepot i think. id ask your dermatologist but it works. If you want more info shoot me a message in private and ill help you and anyone else out.

  • @LegendaryBeast12
    @LegendaryBeast12 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You could have triggered it with the lemon juice, using any kind of citrus fruit on skin can be good for some but it can also cause photosensitivity if you go into the sun right after a citrus application or during, which can be even worse for some creating a rash or it can cause hyper pigmentation which is similar to what you have on your face. It could very well just be vitilago but if i were you id look into lemon juice and its effects with sun and hyper pigmentation. Your goegeous anyway but thought id let you know some insight ive learned about citrus, I love essential oils and lemon is one its great for acne prone skin but ive also learned your not suppposed to go in the sun right after or while having lemon oil or juice on your face...I know you said you put it in your hair to lighten it but it could be possible you got it on your face...possibly triggering vitilago or hyper pigmentstion from the lemon...it couldnt hurt to look into since it could drastically change your treatment options good luck beautiful.
