In the comics, girls with crushes on Charlie Brown never call him Charlie Brown. Peppermint Patty calls him Chuck, Marcie calls him Charles, and that girl at camp he held hands with called him Brownie Charles.

False! In the comics,Patty (not peppermint), Violet and Lucy all have crushes on him, but just call him Charlie Brown, so don't try to speak on things you have no idea what you are talking about.

    •  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +11

@@GaryTongue-zn5di Lucy's crush is on Schroeder, and Patty has a secret crush on Pigpen (Though she is Charlie Brown's oldest friend and has been around as long as Charlie himself). It was only a few years ago I realised something about the end. Snoopy and Woodstock are eating Turkey. And a Bird is eating Bird. And why are they eating non traditional trimmings? They have new potatoes and carrots and some other kind of vegetable. Why didn't Snoopy fix Mashed potatoes and gravy and Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce? And that Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream looked fantastic.

I remember this special. It may have been the first to include Peppermint Patty, Marcie, and Franklin. According to an extra on the DVD, a boy voiced Peppermint Patty in this special.
The usual questions come up. Sally said that she hadn't eaten all of her Halloween candy. Didn't she spend the night with Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin? Maybe the next year she went trick or treating. Where were the parents during all of this? Most families only own a single toaster. Did they borrow or even steal a few? There are models that can toast four slices at a time.
Some might wonder about the time of Grandmother's dinner. But that varies per families. Nowadays all the children might not have gotten to ride in the station wagon. Would there be enough seat belts? Finally, Woodstock helped Snoopy eat the turkey.
These specials should be back on network TV. Thankfully I have the DVD. Most of us missed that subtle change with Peppermint Patty. No one else called him Chuck.

The Thanksgiving special came out a few year's after The Great Pumpkin, so in theory Sally could have gone trick-or-treating prior to the events in this special, but I get where if you were growing up watching these specials as a child the continuity would be off. After all, if you watched this special and The Great Pumpkin, you would be wondering where Sally got all her Halloween candy if she were sitting in the pumpkin patch with Linus. She couldn't have shared any candy with Charlie Brown because he only got rocks. And what did Charlie Brown do to all his neighbors to make sure he only got rocks for trick-or-treating?

At 4:07 on the subject of deep emotions, the most endearing part of all the Charlie Brown series is in this Thanksgiving episode. At the end where Snoopy and Woodstock share their meal together and that tune is playing... and being outside with the Autumn leaves all around. That moment always takes me back to my childhood and simpler times when I first saw it and we a children didn't have a care in the world. That moment is so touching and nostalgic to me that I get misty eyed. I feel so good every time I watch it.

One of that bird's FAVORITE (human) treat foods was chicken. So evidently it isn't unusual for birds to like to eat other tasty birds.

one thing I could never stand about Peppermint Patty in ANY of the Charlie Brown shows is that she doesn't listen. She puts people on the spot. She demands things, has unrealistic expectations and gets angry when people don't give her what she expected. Thing is,if she actually gave people a chance to get a word in,they would tell her they aren't able/capable of doing what she wants. If I knew someone like her,she wouldn't be someone who I would even talk to. Thankfully we have cellphones with caller ID these days. Someone like her would drive me crazy

@MissyFaith1971 we had a girl like her in our inner city Ministry some years back. Really good leader and we tried to encourage that in her but she definitely was bossy. Like Peppermint Patty she had no mother, her mother died when she was a toddler. Once she trusted Christ as her savior you could see the change in her. She never said what but you could tell when we had prayer time there were times when she definitely was quiet longer with her head bowed like she was giving some things over to God. Just admitting she needed the help was the key and that's something Peppermint Patty doesn't do. I remember one time in class our director was teaching something, and this was after this girl had trusted Christ to save her, and she just blurted out that she had no idea what our director was talking about. But she said it politely and like she wanted to know, and our director could sometimes get a little wordy and not think about his audience if he wasn't careful.
This girl also had a lot of hidden anxieties that Peppermint Patty probably has, and that's why she was like that.
I think in dealing with a girl like Peppermint Patty the key is to show her that it's okay if she's not perfect and that it's okay to ask for help. I think the fact I have physical handicaps and did so much with the ministry, yet I was always humble, helped her a lot too because she saw an example of someone who was probably like what she saw herself as. Even though she didn't have physical problems, mentally she was quite insecure. I think Peppermint Patty is the same way.
