You could raise the hatchback on your suv. Back it up close to the tent. It should give you an awning to drape a tarp over it. Peg the outside edges down. You now have a room with access to your tent and car. Hope this helps. Thank you Claire for another great video.
I know you'll figure it out. You are so strong! Now you have more time to consider the best vehicle to live in. Keep up the great work. You have great, high quality videos!
Enjoyed the video. Nice spot for camping and for recharging. Can't wait for everything to fall in place for you so you can buy a nice size used Chevy Express or Ford Transit cargo van and build it out from scratch with a diesel heater. I think a bigger van like those are better choices if you wanted to travel more, or live out of it full time to save money, than the smaller Ford Transit connect.
You mentioned leaving the handle to your pot in "the apartment" and your work, so is the camping and being in the car just recreational? That was a really nice camp spot. The sunset was beautiful.
Hi Joanne. I am currently in a full time work camping job and I have housing (an apartment). I have also lived out of different vehicles full time. TH-cam allows me to spend more time car camping when I would otherwise be working overtime or another job to make ends meet. But youtube or not when I need to get away I go to my car because it feels like it's more my own if that makes sense. Check out some of my earlier videos where I explain more. No matter where I am in life for the last couple decades I retreat to my car or nature because I feel more free. I hope that makes sense.
I absolutely understand how being in the car and with the car changes your dynamic. I sometimes travel cross country, and when I do I live in my car. The freedom to go where you want with a vehicle that keeps you safe from the elements with just the things you need...well you know. I love driving and living out on the road. See you on the next one! And the thing about feeling conspicuous😂 Thirty years ago I spent 17 dollars to stay at an oceanside campsite in a state park in Oregon. I was cooking on a hibachi fire and living in an old van. The couple in the campground next to me were whispering comments about my primitive set up, "just like the Flintstones". That campsite probably costs more like 50 dollars now. Alligator dream.😅 When we were growingup in Florida we could drive out to the beach and make campfires. We could stay all night. We didn't leave trash. There were no pay booths. @ClairenParkerontheRoad
And on this night you did a wonderful job with what you had. Despite your struggles, Claire, your strength is shining through.
Thank you. 😢 You always say the sweetest things. ❤️ ❤️

I think your tent setup turned out nice! Love the cast-iron it's the only thing I cook in. Your dinner looks delicious! 😋
The cast iron is so growing on me! Thanks Brandi!

Thanks. I can't tell you how much comments like these mean to me, especially when I feel skeptical about myself.
