Feel like my boy Death Flayer could've made the list. Not the most unique scorpid skin but he has better stats (1.6s attack speed down from 2s) and he is a rare in Durotar. Has done me proud so far haha

Humar was a lot harder to get for alliance on a pvp server. A friend with a horde toon helped me by talking to other horde in the area. I renamed him 'Cataclysm'. It was funny that 2 xpacs later was named 'Cataclysm'. I still have him as well as the Ghost Sabre which my daughter (on her hunter) and I tamed one day. I named him 'Prism'. That was before rares kept their rare names.
I remember back in my teens when I had to get past getting ganked by horde for an hour just to have a random guy kill humar mid tame causing me to check for his spawn every 8 hours 😂 thanks for this video, you just made me re install wow after 8 years off
Deathmaw, rare black wolf in Burning Steppes, is harder to nab than OCJ. Main reason is, all of his spawn areas are among heavily quested mobs, mainly the mobs for "Dragonkin Menace". Took me almost 2 months of near-nonstop camping to get him, only saw him alive once prior and was killed before I got to him. His unique feature is a 1.2 attack speed, shared by Slavering Worgs in SFK.
I still have a weak spot for the black armored boar and I'm really happy that Blizz made the HD model look equally cool, if a bit different from the original. Mazzranache is a close second based purely on visuals, how can you not love such a snazzy looking boy.

The only saving grace of abandoning all those rare pets is that you didn't level them to 60 first. I'm currently using a ZG Bat and Humar. Was thinking about filling my last slot with a Son of Hakkar but I might have to go put a level 60 Ghost Saber in there instead.
Theres 2 white versions of Humar, those are my favorite skins! Albino lion! One low level in the barrens north of Humar and another high level as a rare spawn from a horde only quest in Winterspring
But I probably like the white lion cause I play Alliance and hes really rare to see on alliance side. But I see tons of low level hordies with him jaja
But Spiteflayer is the only bird with attack faster than 2.0, he is more unique than Lupos 4 sure. And carrion birds are pretty underrated, so it would`ve been nice.. Well and I`ve got one tamed, so wanted him to get his second of fame.

Many rare and exotic pets were abandoned in the making of this video. I was a week early... You keep telling me about these rares that I don't remember. Only to abandon them later on. >_> Disgusting retail doesn't have that stable problem.
Maybe it's because I play horde a lot, but I don't really think of the white lion as unique. Every lvl20~ horde hunter runs around with him for a while because of Echeyakee. The white gorilla.... I probably should have mentioned. But I have to save a few for the followup "5 MORE Rare and Unique Hunter Pets in Classic" if this video does good haha.
@@Bigbobbedboi Uhk'loc is a fun tame sub-60, because of the best trap only holding him 15 secs/tame lasting 20. That and his almost guaranteed knockback if he hits you.

He's super cool, but yeah skin isn't unique. There are white crocs in wailing caverns and maybe some other places I can't remember.

There's Uhk'loc, a white rare gorilla and U'cha, a unique brown gorilla (you have to kill for his pelt)
