The way got my loose I got a 2x4 piece of wood to lock the crank spinning back then i used a long cheater bar, it took some work but I got the job done in a safe way.
Daniel Patino yeah, I have removed them just a ton of times and it is always disturbing but I get it done. This time in the Izzo really worked me though. Maybe I needed to eat first. Lol
Im in the market for a new bike it look like you a have a lot of experience on YT i love to climb and i like to enjoy the downhill not pushing myself to crazy limits. Im trying to figure it out ether the capra elite of the Izzo launch edition, my 3rd choice is the canyon strive 9.0 What would be your recommendation?
Daniel Patino I actually think you might want to consider the Jeffsey. It climbs well and goes downhill well. The Izzo can really do everything though. You may not be able to buy a launch edition Izzo though as they are all sold out. If you want a YT, maybe plan to order a 2021 the beginning of January.
Sean thanks for the reply, i was able to order an Izzo launch edition it will be shipped on january 21st so you think the capra might be too much of a bike for what I do and maybe ill be having a hard time climbing? I do santiago peak (twice a year) in OC which is 5689ft of elevation and there is a nice single tracks (some pretty insane) going down. However i live by Greer ranch and that one i do more often. Have you done back to back climbing test on your YTs?
Daniel Patino I have done back to back tests and I have ridden in those areas. For me, I know the Izzo climbs best but I still mostly ride my Capra because it is so much more fun downhill despite the small punishment on the climb.
Hi Alex. I bought the32t from Worldwide Cyclery. The chain guide slides up and out of the way and right back with the new ring on. You don’t actually have to remove it. absoluteBLACK Oval Narrow-Wide Direct Mount Chainring - 32t, SRAM 3-Bolt Direct Mount, 3mm Offset, Gold
@@CaptGoodJob great answers I have the Capra elite and was thinking of putting the oval ring, I hate climbing as well. this was really helpful. any other pros or cons you noticed after riding it for a couple of months?
@@xBry4nTx I have noticed that I keep changing my suspension setup. I just can’t lbs on exactly what I want there. I also am obsessed with the Oval chain ring and the AXS components. Other than that, I run a cushcore out back and I may take it out for a while to ride at around 31 lbs.
Best camera work of any TH-cam video ever!!

An immense amount of force is no lie! Good vid, bruh. We want a LTR on the oval from you.
Yo Berckage! I’m gonna do that.
Thanks for the video, hope to see a review and if it helped you. Just like you anything to help those climbs I'm all ears.
Will do!
What is the offset of the AB chainring you installed?
3mm
Hey bro like your video, can you help me on what size is the oval I have the same bike and you able to put the chain guard back??

@@CaptGoodJob why the 32T and not the 30T? I have a 2020 capra pro race. Im just confused on which oval ring to choose. Thanks
kevin luu I have the 10-52 chain ring on the bike. I didn’t need the 30 the same way that you would. Get the 30 of you have a 10-50T on the back.

Some gorilla put my Capra together and had to use an old set of handlebars as a breaker bar to get my bracket off, as well as standing on the pedal.
Yeah. Super annoying. Glad you got it out.
What size is your capra elite? And how tall are you? I’m 5’6” and I ordered a medium. Should I go size up?
Constantine Alarcon I’m 5’10”. My son is 5’6” and he loves riding the medium. Totally a preference thing.
That's not black....
😅
God dmn I would like a Capra elite!
You can buy this one if you are a size medium.
But frankly, great video
