      @@hafsamoiz7014 I think that is impossible for most due to bone loss and lack of collagen and other factors in the skin. I do think if you take good care of your skin, you may well look 25 years younger if you use sunscreen, eat healthily and take care of your health generally. Sadly, a lot is genetic as well. But there is always plastic surgery or more invasive treatments if your best efforts stop working.
      The other thing that might happen is that you won't want to look in your 20's when your in your 60's and you will just want to look fantastic for your age. A lot of things cease to matter. While I envy the young their often beautiful skin, have no wish for that bland look or for the stresses of those younger ages. You may find there are many compensations for getting older, not least you don't care that much what others' think and you acquire experience, depth and wisdom in increasing degrees. Other things matter, personality, charm (hard to find these days), humour, intelligence, much more. But it is nice to look in the mirror and think 'I look good' at any age.

    Can we please talk about how the comments seem to be obsessed with not aging at all? Premature aging=looking 10 years older than you really are, but people seem to want to look forever 20? I know society pressures (esp women) to never age but it's actually not shameful. Preventing premature aging is about looking your age and not like you just got out of high school, so please dont be ashamed about looking 30 when you're 30.

    • @eylulvv

      Exactly what i was thinking! Honestly women’s obsession with staying 20 forever is really scary. Especially as an 18 year old i feel so old because im literally almost 20 😔 It’s sad how nobody wants to get older and wrinklier when it’s just how life is. Most of us are going to get wrinkles no point in being scared of a natural cycle. We need to stop being SO toxic o our own bodies

    • @colleenrawson8477
      @colleenrawson8477 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have two points as to why I do "anti aging" skincare.
      1. I'm super pale and don't want burns or skin cancer 😬
      2. I get the baby face comment a lot and those people say "you'll look so good when you're old". Like what?? I'll get wrinkles just like everyone else! I'm going to sunscreen like crazy to prove it works to keep my skin healthy 😊 I can't regulate my facial movements though, I can only think about so much 😂

    • @schwambibambi6492
      @schwambibambi6492 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@colleenrawson8477 well you're just doing "normal" skin care to prevent permanent damage, just like I am, so not really anti-aging (preventing and getting rid of wrinkles) 🤔 my point is about wanting to not age at all vs your point is about keeping your skin healthy and I think that those two are not exactly the same 😅

    • @colleenrawson8477
      @colleenrawson8477 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@schwambibambi6492 yeah, you're right 😂 there's an interesting intersection of healthy vs. unhealthy and aging vs. youth. If my skin is very healthy, it will probably be more resilient to damage and also look younger. If it's not taken care of, it will be less resilient and show wrinkles and dark spots faster, looking older. I think it's wrong to equate age to damage, because is it damage if it's normal? But it's hard to separate youthful skin from healthy skin sometimes. 🤔

    Now I follow a skincare routine with SPF, I sleep 8-9 hours a night, I drink 2-3 big containers of water, I eat a plant based diet, and I workout 2-3x a week. When I tell you I have never looked or felt this good I mean I've NEVER looked or felt this good!

      @@ayauna7561 In terms of *extra* procedures (face tools or expensive stuff), not likely. But there is never a too early time to incorporate cleansing, moisturizing, and sunscreening in the day. Some concerns as a teen is that your body chemistry is changing, so even if you use the same set of products, you might feel you need to use more/less frequently because your skin needs are changing (prone to dryness or oiliness). The second is acne and pimples; I’m mentioning two terms to differentiate a condition that would be best addressed by a dermatologist bc it’s face-wide patches or even chest/back acne vs. a handful of trouble spots on the face that have a pimple. If it’s the pimples then you could start introducing chemical exfoliant toners/treatments or changing your cleanser to one that includes some already. Skincare is preventative. You’ll survive with wrinkles, spots*, or scars on your face, but it could hurt your self-confidence and make you less assertive. When you solidify a routine of the basics (cleanse, moisturize, sunscreen in day) that you actually follow, it’ll be a lot easier to introduce or explore other products/treatments for specific concerns like acne or wrinkles.

      Sorry about your grandma. This just proves that you cannot prevent ageing and all it's side effects, even if you manage to keep your skin looking good and younger for your age. The body and skin degenerate over time. There is no cure - yet. It's also worth thinking what if we all lived twice as long, say to 150 and what this would mean to society and individuals.
      I like what Ricky Gervaise says. Dying is like stupidity, someone else feels the pain (grief). We are lucky if we die of old age in our sleep. Some people have bad health all their lives. It is a privilige to grow old, so let's not be hung up only on how we look, but how we behave, how we live our lives, and also staying healthy in body and mind.
      I hope you continue to remember your grandmother with love and your grief fades over time.

The one almost wrinkle I have is a smile line, but I have a crooked smile and there’s no helping that haha.

      @@jessicacourtney786 I use the Niacinamide with 10% zinc both morning and night. In the morning I also use the buffet serum, and at night I use the Hyaluronic acid 2% and B5 serum. In addition to having a frown line, my skin is pretty acne prone. Like, I’m turning 31, and I’ve legit NEVER had nice skin. Until now. I had a small break out right after I started using these products but I assume it was just my skin adjusting to them. It cleared up pretty quickly and I haven’t had an issue since. I’ve also got some scarring, both from acne and some from old piercings. All of which are nearly gone. I didn’t have much hope that this would work, but it did. Looking to add some retinol but that one scares me a bit because my skin is kinda sensitive. Right now I’m also using Neutrogena Hydro boost gel cream (the fragrance free one) both morning and night on top on the serums. Nothing super fancy, but seems to work for my skin

    I just came across Hyram last week because I want to begin a consistent skincare routine. His videos have been so motivating and informational! I've literally been watching them for hours the last 3 days. Here's what I'm thinking about starting, if any one has any input about if this would be a good routine or not, I would love to know!
    Note: My main goals are to prevent early aging and hormonal acne, reduce redness around my nose and textured skin, and even skin tone/sun freckles/dry patches.
    Morning routine:
    Cleanser - Simple Micellar Gel Wash
    Eye cream - The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (to help puffiness + aging)
    Moisturizer - Rovectin Clean Lotus Water Cream
    Sunscreen - SunBum Mineral Tinted SPF 30
    Night routine:
    Cleansing balm - Almond oil (I haven't come across what he thinks about this, but this is what I have on hand)
    Cleanser - same as morning
    Treatments/serum:
    > The Ordinary AHA BHA Solution (to help textured skin) - only twice a week
    > The Ordinary 0.5 retinol in squalane (to help aging)
    > The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% Serum (to help even dark spots)
    Eye cream - same as morning
    Moisturizer- same as morning
    Lip mask - just a random scrub that I need to finish

Now I am very fortunate because I just turn 50 and still get carded when I try to by liquor. However, I did notice that my skin started to look a little worse for the wear and when I started following Hyram, it got so much better. I look like I'm still in my 20's and hope to stay that way for quite some time. Thank you Hyram!

      That would be interesting to hear his take on it a specific brand. I actually stopped using organic/natural products because it wasn’t working for me. Most have oils or essential oils or specific extracts that I avoid now, and were NOT working for my skin and severely irritated and broke me out. I think it’s such a personal case by case basis though.

    I am proud to say I started proper skincare at age 16 thanks to Hyram. I'm 17 now and the difference between last year and now is light and day.
    For context, I have VERY INTENSE combination skin. I have to accommodate for different seasons because I'm extremely oily during the summer and I literally flake during the winter.
    A year ago, my skin was insanely red, I had constant breakouts on my cheeks and blackheads all over my nose and very visible pores. Today, my skin is smoother, pinkish but never bright red (I honestly think it's just how my skin is, I'm very pale) my pores are way less visible and I rarely breakout. I use a lot of niacinamide in the summer and hyaluronic acid and heavy moisturizing creams during the winter, and thanks to this, I'm almost never oily or flaky anymore.
    I use retinol, salicylic acid, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and benzoyl peroxide depending entirely on what my skin needs at the time (I try not to layer certain products and rather switch it up on different days so I don't irritate my skin). I primarily use CeraVe, The Ordinary and Paula's Choice as well. :P
    Long story short, ITS DEFINITELY WORTH IT AND ILY HYRAM YOU SERIOUSLY SAVED MY SKIN

    I've always been youthful looking but after a few years of not taking care of myself at all my skin was wrecked. My sister gave me a couple products and I had no clue how to use them so I came to TH-cam. I discovered James Welsh and then your page and two months later my skin is so much better. Today I only wore a bit of concealer and powder instead of a full coverage foundation. I am obsessed now. I'm a darker skin tone and never took spf seriously. I'm happy to say sunscreen is part of my daily routine. Thanks for your channel and for having a bright happy take on something that is so personal and really daunting!!
    Eta: I'm in Florida and know two people who got skin cancer in their 20s. I'm lucky to be nearly 40 and ok. But to think of all the sun exposure I took for granted I shudder!

So because of that I developed a very good spf habit. ☀️ Love your videos Hyram!! 🤗

    Thank you for being so open about this, especially about visible signs of aging that do show up in 20-something year olds. In a tiktok comment I said something about my fine lines (I'm 30) that I've been having since I was like 24, and people acted like that was SO extraordinary and like I'm a freak basically.

I’ve always been very much into skin care but you have taught me that skin care doesn’t have to be expensive and you don’t have to have a lot of products in your routine, just a few key ingredients. I love your personality and you’re so funny and cute! Keep doing what you’re doing!

      Try to use a product which has 2 to 5 percent niacinamide and use like 2 drops for only 3 days a week for a month and then incorporate regularly..Many people have said that the 10 percent concentration is actually too harsh...because I don't think niacinamide is very harsh ingredient it's usually it's concentration

      @ashers_aether7256 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i had the same troubles when i was 13!!! (i’m 14 now)
      i would constantly get comments on how red my face was and i was noticing forehead creases as well. i started washing my face more and i would use grape seed oil and evening primrose oil on my face every night kind of like a night mask. it helped with my oiliness and acne as well as moisturizing my skin a ton so the creases went away. i don’t do it anymore as i don’t really need to, but it really helped back then. i’m not sure if it would work for you, but if you do end up trying it out be sure to wash off anything that didn’t absorb overnight in the morning! if you want a less diy way of doing things, a snail moisturizer would be really beneficial! look for products that calm the skin too. good luck on your skincare journey!!

When I sleep with it overnight my wrinkles are smoothed out dramatically bc I’m not creasing. That’s just my specific case though, maybe yours is different! Good luck

      make sure to use sunscreen everyday as your last step, sunscreen and cleansers usually go with every treatment and moisturizer. if you are using a treatment cleanser (with aha, bha or pha), then you don't need to exfoliate your face as often. niacinamide goes with everything, just make sure to not use a retinol and exfoliating acids in the same routine. something like hyaluronic acid also goes with everything. and lastly, try to only use one or two treatments (like serums, toner, etc) per routine (for example, cleanser, niacinamide, moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning and cleanser, hyalorunic acid, aha/bha/pha, and moisturizer at night, the next day you could use a retinol or sth like that). hope this helped :))
