Just realized brohammer was the one to give chief the pistol, the one with one round. And that he was probably saving it for a fate far worse than being attacked by banished. Scary stuff
It used to be an ar
@@rumble9920 That AR was almost definitely there because it's more marketable than the Sidekick. Chief holding an AR is good trailer material, I doubt it was ever canon.
O h
I guarantee it had nothing to do with the flood. It was most likely he was super depressed because he accepted the fact that he was going to die alone out there and the fact that he most likely was never going to see his wife and kid ever again so he was he was just going to end it.
@@mariobadia4553 wasn't talking about the flood, was thinking about starving in space once whatever food he has left runs out or when oxygen eventually runs out. I assume a pelican can recycle oxygen for awhile but I imagine he had an exit plan one way or another
I am overwhelmed by how good this looks... It's hard to put it into words how I feel about this game. I cant wait to switch off my phone and jump into Infinite at midnight as soon as it launches!
Agreed
No idea you were into halo
I pre ordered, so should I grab my physical copy and be a part of the midnight release or just go the next day and play at midnight w game pass?
@@WhiplashBunny The game is supposed to be release at midnight, December 8th (local time) on Game Pass from what I understand. So you'd get to play it sooner on Game Pass
@@WhiplashBunny the only benefits of getting a physical copy at midnight is time until you can play. Millions of people are going to be downloading Halo infinite at a single time. That's going to put a lot of load on their servers hopefully they will a lot more bandwidth but I have no clue if it's designed to hold that many downloads at once.
Actually, I think it's a great thing that Infinite relies on some prior knowledge. This means that older fans will know what's going on while newer fans are left curious enough to go back and try the older games to catch up.
Just lead to them spending the 40 to 60 bucks to get the entirety of the main plot
YES! None of this pandering to newcomers to the franchise. Let them check this out to see what the hype is about, start to want to know more, go back to the beginning, and then go through the saga up to this point with a fresh perspective.
Yeah I don’t get why it should cater to new fans at all. It’s a story game. Why would a story game not be connected to the previous games. That’s like if you watched the last lotr and then got mad that it wasn’t open for new fans.
@@knucklessammich3875 gamepass
Yeah, they have a whole COLLECTION for that tbh
I've found it difficult to renew my faith in this franchise, but having looked over everything the last 2 odd months, and getting a taste of the flights, plus this....yeah, they've hooked me good. To be excited for Halo again is glorious.
Yeaaah man,add to that thier efforts and commitment to the MCC.
At this point, even if infinite is that good,im willing to give 343 the respect for trying, tje prove they understand Halo and they care about thier community.

Im torn between Chief saying “no, we need to fight” or “I need a weapon” both are so badass
I hope it is an example of difficulty based dialogue changes.... Hopefully
@@joebarthram596 considering this is the beginning of the game, it’s possible that dialogue will be difficult based, but who knows
I honestly loved the "we need to fight" dialogue more.
Maybe they should mix it up a little: "no, I need a weapon to fight"
@@christianvolk5931 No, I need to fight a weapon.
Can I just say how professional and well assembled this review is? She really addresses pretty much everything Halo fans want to know and hear more about, she gives a more detailed explanation on how she feels about each aspect, she really nails it. And I'm not just saying that because she is giving positive feedback. She really feels like she knows exactly what the Halo community wants.
IGN for once put their best person for the job. Someone who actually plays on at least Heroic and is already a fan.
@@JohnPeacekeeper she’s easily the best games journalist out there imo

hahaha thank you bro, I attribute that to my Himalayan rock salt lamp and the comfy orange glow it gives off
I like that he still cares for what happened between him and cortana at the end of Halo 4. The Halo 4 ending was one of the saddest things I've ever seen. We lost cortana and yeah cortana maybe still alive but she's not the cortana we know
Honestly, I don’t think Halo 4 was a bad game by most criteria. Definitely not the best halo, but the plot was ‘mostly’ good, especially with the Cortana and chief relationship, and the main issues that halo 4 did have I understand the logic of.
The art style? 343 just took over, with the most recent game being Reach, the at the time most detailed graphics. The end result of 4 was definitely not the ‘best’ look, but it was incredibly detailed and definitely had a ton of effort put into it
Del Rio? Chief coming into conflict with high command, especially for Cortana, is conceptually a great piece. Plus, it lead to Halo Follower’s most recent animation!
Spartan Ops? As badly handled especially towards the later seasons as it was, they were trying to create the same thing Reach did: your Spartan is part of the story! If only they didn’t give ALL the cinematics to Majestic and had some scenes where our Spartans did stuff, like the prison break with the custom animations of escaping.
Halo 4, and Halo 5 honestly, they both had so many awesome pieces that if tweaked just slightly would have been amazing. Which makes them hurt even more. 343 I feel has always been just a step or two away from making a great halo game, and with the delays they’ve taken and the focus on releasing piece by piece, I think they’re making utterly sure they’ve got it this time on every front.
Not to sound disgusting, but I prefer innocent lil Weapon
@@SterlingSimmons22 Why would you be disgusting? I like the Weapon too.
@@starhammer5247 because if she were in the flesh, I would want to be in her flesh.
@@SterlingSimmons22 I respect your wisdom and will agree with you just because you are well versed and are a man of culture as well.
It seems like the Open World aspects are very similar to ODST/GHOST OF TSUSHIMA
You have this one area on the map and after a certain amount of missions, it becomes wider and wider until the end where you can roam the entire map freely to collect everything else or just explore.
I hope it doesn't become a destiny, the master chief's edition
@@thomasrandwijk destiny is a set of large maps that are not connected together, it looks more like ghost of tsushima
Maybe a bit like God of War?
Something cool, around 11:35 you can see that when she shoots the jackal, the elite then powers on a shield. It seems that some enemies will leave their guards down and be more vulnerable when performing something like an ambush or sneak attack
That's an impressive find, my guy! I absolutely did not even notice this. I reckon it'll be easier to kill elites when ambushing them XD
That means it'll be much easier to get that first "easy" kill when sneaking up on enemies. Up until know you've needed one of the snipers to knock out idle enemies in one hit, at least with elites. This is great, because in a large open worlds Snipers would inherently be one of the best weapons.
We can Kat cap them now!
Good catch! Another thing I noticed is that the jackals seem to be more dynamic when defending themselves with the shields. When you shoot at them straight on they spin their shields to move their weak spot around and make it harder to flinch them

This looks unbelievably good, IGN only played a snippet of the Campaign and I bet there is so much more to look forward too.
Not to mention the multiple Campaigns that will be coming in the future.
What do you mean by "multiple campaigns"?
@@resentfulsoulofthetoilet589 oh yea there will be extensive story dlc for this game
@@resentfulsoulofthetoilet589 apparently they're gonna be using this as the next halo game for the next ten years. an example would be like if they made new games for the MCC launcher
@@resentfulsoulofthetoilet589 In the updated Halo Waypoint app for Infinite, the single player section is labeled 'Campaigns', emphasis on the plural.
The fact missions sound like they're taking place in their own instances gives me hope that you'll still be able to load up and play missions with different skulls and the score system like past games, rather than having to play through the whole game again to replay missions you like, which was one of my concerns.
Also, it would be really cool if either in a DLC or the main campaign, the food _(edit: or even the flood)_ take over the open world section of the game, like a red dead undead nightmare kinda situation.
And a small thing I noticed which is cool, is how the Jackals rotate their shields to move their weak spot |(3:17). Makes it feel like the banished forces are developing extra tactics, giving them an edge over the old covenant, which fits their lore.
Ah yes, the FOOD.
@@thedaveed1 Lol, Excess food is a scary enemy when you need to fit into metal armour. But fixed.
It’s possible that the reason we don’t see atriox is because he’s still taking care of the flood, in halo wars we never saw them get eliminated let’s hope.
(Potential Spoilers for Shadows of Reach and Divine Wind)
As of Halo Infinite, we know that Atriox is no longer on the Ark and came back to the galaxy via an underground portal on Reach. It was also implied that the flood were pretty much contained in the ark, even if they weren’t eliminated. Between that and the recently released concept art for Infinite, I find it hard to believe that he won’t show up in the game at all.
My hope is that the outbreak was not able to be contained.
@@samlund8543 Haven't read those books yet, but maybe a future campaign where we take the fight to Atriox on Reach?
That could be the start of the 'multiplayer spartan campaign' that 343 have been alluding to as future content. Plus returning to Reach after all these years (in game and out) sounds good to me.
1:50 with this change of dialogue I'm wondering if this is an instance of difficulty based dialogue like the other titles. Makes me thinks of Johnsons speech at the beginning of CE.
That would be cool
Didn’t think of that. Good take
I sincerely hope it is, because I much preferred it when he had a new one liner as opposed to recycling an old one, as good as the old one is. Giving Chief 4 unique one liners right here would be pretty badass.
Yeah, I really hope that’s the case, because “no, we need to fight” is such a good one-liner.
The Banished are shaping up well. They adopted Cybernetics, advanced technology and tactics. The FLOOD are alluded to, the open world isn't a Ubisoft style open world with artificial bloated mechanics. It even feels like John is leading the surviving marines after a significant loss, which we know he takes hard enough based on lore. That's how i'm interpreting the "tiredness", more like a tired, long war veteran that still has a lot of fight in him, but the losses have built up it's subtly affecting him. I'll bet even a SPARTAN-II can feel the weight of war.
they seem to have worked out boss battles which means 343 are doing really good. We get a kind of guerilla warfare against the Banished, attack on bases how we want, take over them, and get the marines back in shape. Reminds me of how Keyes fought the Covenant on Alpha Halo. Except I think Chief will be leading this time. I'm happy they are going for fans, rather than catering for everyone, because something is lost in that. To anyone who is new to Halo, I welcome them to Halo, but I recommend the MCC first. to get to know the Chief.
Now I hope Jega U'domnai is the Grey Fox of this game. That'd be awesome.
I honestly felt like IGN was gonna fuck up this demo like they did with the multiplayer one, but this gal actually sounds like a halo fan at the begining
This stuff looks pretty bloody promising. I'm looking forward to seeing what it brings us. I may actually change my mind and at least give it a playthrough after all XD
We need the flood to be in this game. Imaging walking around on the ring and then you hear flood noises come from a part of a forest and then they run at you. This needs to happen.
Hell yeah. I'm thinking the first time Flood join the fray will be in an dark underground and claustrophobic environment. Where you can hear the noises echo down the passageways...
Yo my guy, thank you for being one of the only logical individuals when it comes to what she said about the Flood. Most people I've seen or listened to seem to think she said there will be no flood, but she was talking about the promethians. I think that if she has only played 3-4 hours and they are already alluding to the flood, them bois in the game lol if not now then at the very least it'll be in the DLC story content.
So excited for the Skirmishers. One the the coolest looking Halo enemies ever

Yay more gameplay especially for the campaign!
Not to sound negative, but I'd think it would be obvious that the flood is eluded to at least once in game since it all takes place on a Halo ring, which was built as a last ditch effort to deal with the flood specifically
I can’t believe what I love about Halo in my childhood is coming back and perfectly blended what I love about Halo now.
I think it's possible for Halo Infinite to be enjoyable for both long-time Halo fans and people newer to the series (assuming they know the whole story first).
I'm sure The grapeshot floating is NOT a glitch. It's 'mass manipulation device' as per the recent archive video. It essentially then manipulates gravity which would explain how it can pull a 2000lb spartan. and the fact hat it always pulls you towards something. My guess is it floats when not in use, since it likely manipulates what ever its touching.
That scientist must have been hella smart...
So it is like Metro Exodus, it is open in segments of the Campaign, to break off the linearity of halo. I like it!
6:56 - 7:28 the track playing has such a heroic tone and vibe to it
Are you gonna do a breakdown of all the Game Informer gameplay and news too? Even more stuff was shown from Game Informer. Same with the IGN gameplay discussion
Yes I saw that as well, pretty good stuff
Game informer 44 minute video is fullllllll of spoilers be warned
@@xXFallout2 That’s true. They have a few short ones that don’t contain any though. But show more Campaign gameplay
The way that Zeta Halo’s locations are broken up for that semi-open world experience reminds me of how Monolith broke up Mordor for Shadow Of War. That’s a good thing. 👍🏻
Miranda did a superb job of articulating my feelings. Like insanely great job by her.
My only criticism is if she was playing on heroic the whole time, it looked a bit easy. I mean that's, fine. I can go to legendary. But i can only imagine how easy Easy is. And I just hope legendary isn't too easy
hmmm...
Red monitor.
Allusions to Flood.
A chunk of the ring missing ...maybe in a swift containment measure they detached and destroyed it?
With over a decade to think the Flood over, I'm sure devs have quite a few ideas on how to improve their gameplay.
As soon as the person said, “The Flood Was Eluded to, but I never saw them” that gave me some goosebumps as well.
I have met somone that has given up on halo completely, they haven't even attempted to try to learn a bit about halo infinite but after I showed him your videos he started playing halo again!
Imagine being able to summon 20 marines you rescued only for them to be splattered by an enemy ghost lol
Or converted to flood
It's looking so good. I love how certain missions will play sorta like dungeons, not exactly unique but it's a perfect way to bring back the familiar linear Halo playstyle in an open world game. I do hope some of the campaign happens outside of Zeta Halo too though, always been a fan of leaping across the galaxy to crazy new locations.
I was literally about to watch the footage myself, got the notif for this video, and switched over here to watch it together 😁
I haven't been hyped for games in a long time but now with Halo Infinite, Dying Light 2, Battlefield, and Elden Ring; I'm super excited. Even COD has been pretty fun lately.
I’m really trying my best to not get too hyped for this game, but holy shit with every new update, it’s getting harder and harder to not lose my mind at how great Infinite looks
Reminder that she only played four hours of the campaign. So if the flood were alluded to in that amount of time we might be able to see them at the end! Or in DLC
just watched the IGN video, looking real good so far, hope 343 keep it up!
“Alluded to”. Yeah. Dude. It’s a Halo ring. Banished are probably doing all they can to locate and contain any Flood research facilities so they don’t get a repeat of the events on the past rings and the Ark.
Me and my GF crying because we're spoiler-dodging for 3 months until co-op drops. Have fun Spartans, we'll be MIA until then!
Lucky.
It’s like CE 2, with mixed in elements from H2, H3, and Reach. All of which sounds AMAZING.
And I am GLAD it’s aimed toward returning Halo fans. Halo was always accessible anyway, and there are plenty of people who are at least moderately familiar with the game already. What we need is a game that reinvigorates Halo fans instead of disappoints them.
It’s looking very, very good so far. I’m staying optimistic at this point, if a bit cautiously so.
Pilot: We need to run!
Chief: I need a weapon.
Me: (halo 2 flash backs)
I'm still shocked that she mentioned the flood so casually, that's a big piece of news to us all considering 343 hasn't said a word about it yet
The flood was hinted at in their first four hours of gameplay……I’m loosing my mind lol. If there was any time to bring them back…it’s this game.
i think when they say "alluded to," its not as big a hint as we might think. Since the halo ring was meant to destroy flood, their mention would almost definitely happen even if they didnt appear at all.
Wait are we getting flashbacks?? If so please bring back moments with J Keyes and arbiter or even blue team!!
I dont want the flood in the main story. But to have a fully flood side quest, like the onse In Arkham knight would be sick. You investigate mysterious marine deaths. Follow a (figurative) trail and find out the flood exist on the ring, and they're let loose.
After that you find them roaming around the ring just like the banished.
I'm really hoping they save the flood for a dlc (hopefully free, or cheap) so that they can put all their focus on it and possibly raise the age rating a bit
Something I noticed a few times throughout this video was that jackals occasionally shoot over their shield to change the to point where you have to shoot them to make them flinch.. pretty neat
Looks amazing and also I think she did a great job. Glad to see it was an actual first hand review with criticism instead of a fake one sided review
One small thing that I thought was pretty cool was at 3:20, where the jackel angled his exposed arm above him. Making the encounter more flexible, and relying on the players ability to adapt.
the person that did this video actually felt like a halo fan.
One detail I really like is the inclusion of Cortana's name scene. It's almost as if in response, "The Weapon" was assigned more as a designation than a name to stop Chief from humanizing her. They don't want him to get attached because the Weapon is meant to die once the job is complete.
I'm glad they seemed to find someone who's halfway competent to get the new footage lol. Most IGN staff members probably wouldn't be able to play on heroic
EDIT: saw the full video, and I stand corrected, lot of the footage was.... kinda bad ngl
I just realized that the reflection shield thing from multi-player could allow for the flood to be hyper aggressive. Thus giving you a tool to combat them.
3:20 see the blood shoot out of the jackal? There IS blood in this game.
There was blood in the campaign overview people are just reactionary and blind
@@bluestormpony I still thought I was seeing blood too. It's just not enough to cover the walls and floors like in CE. I'm fine with the current blood effects. It's subtle.
I really like the parts mentioned in the article that were absent in the video summary;
- There are secret rooms with rare or unique weapons.
- You can risk keeping a special weapon in a weapon's slot until you find more ammo. It creates fun tension.
- There are a variety of armored Banished, even Grunts.
- There's a grunt who is the Banished's "Minister of Propaganda", lol.
And I absolutely love that the Flood were "alluded to" while the Prometheans weren't "present". Hopefully the Prometheans stay absent from the story, while the Flood surprise us somewhere down the storyline. Overall, my excitement is building!
"There is a chance, there's hope!"
-HiddenXperia
The games slogan is discover hope after all
I love that around 9:21 after Chief guns down the first Brute, you just barely see the one on the left begin to rage out before he gets gunned down as well. A quick but nice detail.
Wait wait wait…. Cortana goes missing, right? And the weapon was supposed to be deleted? What if the weapon actually was deleted, and Cortana secretly took her place? Hmmm
That is the most common rumor and I will not be shocked if that's true
I feel very accomplished and special knowing that this is more for older halo fans. Thank you 343
If we get the flood as a DLC, holy hell I'm going to buy it
9:58 Ah, prelaunch- good times
Odd. All of the sudden full price for campaign only doesn't seem so bad.
If it has the emotional weight of halo 4 or at least what it aimed 4 while the play feel of 3 and the story feeling of 3 and reach, this will be everything I've hoped for
It is ... _really_ hard not to focus on "The Flood were alluded to".
How the hell do you avoid thinking about the community's favorite space zombie that disappeared for years when they were so bluntly mentioned in a video like this?
Don't forget about the exclusive footage that Game Informer has with Halo Infinite too! They've been uploading articles on their website with information I haven't seen anywhere else.
Why am I seeing blood gush out of enemies? I was told repeatedly that Infinite had no blood.
People lie when it serves their narratives
I just shaved yesterday and the goosebumps from the flood being eluded to and hanging on to that sliver alone makes me hopeful, but now I'm in pain..
Between this and Elden Ring, I'm going to be busy for a while.

I loved how BRUTALLY fast the gameplay was reviewed.
“IGN released campaign footage”
Although I’m excited for more campaign footage, it feels like this footage coming from IGN is like ISIS making a hostage video asking for a ransom.
9:54 I was watching this during my lunch break from school and damn I left off to school on a good note when I heard the flood being mentioned, my smile was just as wide as yours. Now I’m back home and have finished the video and I have high hopes that the flood can be in some campaign mission or added in through a legit DLC
I don't think the gameplay shown off is Heroic. This woman might have played on Heroic but this is probably gameplay from someone else's easy playthrough. The enemies to too little damage for it to be Heroic .
Yeah i thought about that too, if thats heroic then im going streight to legendary, she just killed brutes and elites with a few bursts
Hidden Xperia’s face when the flood was mentioned was priceless
If that's heroic then i'll play in Legendary on launch lol
Everything is looking so good! I already want to play it so hard
It's likely she played at heroic but the gameplay capture was given from 343 in normal or easy... I suspect easy

I honestly don't care that much about halo any more but bro your genuine joy at the reveals make this content so delightful to watch. Your passion is infectious man. Love it.
Elites seem to have Reach-style speed, which is a good contrast to the sluggish brutes.
Wow, I did not expect that level of professionalism and being generally in tune with Halo and it's community itself from an IGN video.
Personally I hope Locke isn't straight up dead but a side character you can optionally rescue. His potential as a character was completely wasted with 5's writing and I hope he, Blue Team, and Osiris get a second chance in Infinite.
Luc! At around the 9:20 second mark in the IGN interview video you can see a T'vaoan! Come on man you gotta talk about this! They've been my favorite species in Sci-Fi history and they finally make a return after all this time!
