When I find a sentinel pillar on a planet I like, I usually build a base next to it, with a teleporter. I have a pillar base on my settlement planet, and on several others with lots of resources.

Like that idea. It would be an interesting project to develop the current planet, will have to look for the sentinel pillar with a view towards building a base.

You can disable the sentinel flare. Your friendly sentinel will then disappear.
