I have two bases on a planet with curious deposits. I put in teleporters and just go back and forth farming runaway mold. Then, refine them. I've made hundreds of thousands of nanites that way.
I would recommend only going for radiant shards if you wanna do that approach. Get the Nomad exocraft, and upgrade the mining laser as much as you can for faster mining. Also important to mention that you only get 1 radiant shard regardless of harvest bonuses, and therefore the Nomad exocraft is recommended as you traverse the planet fast AND! (This is the good part) The mining laser on the nomad can reach the radiant shards from as far away as they render. So if you see them, you can mine them. Another interesting note is that you can from a long distance mine these shards through other vegetation for some reason. Also upgrade engine with S or X tier upgrade modules for even faster traversing with the Nomad. Remember that the Nomad is basically a hovercraft, so you can drive across water as well. When it comes to farming runaway mould, I would recommend finding two spots with at least 6 or more moulds per group, and then make a base around each with a portal, so you can jump back and fourth between these two with as little loading time as possible. Final note about the Nomad exocraft. I used the mining laser on a NPC fregate orbiting the planet and I destroyed it. So the the range of the mining laser is insane. You can also use the mining laser to kill Dissonance Resonators wich can give echo locators for sentinel ship hunting or inverted mirrors wich give 950 nanites per stack of 10. So Radiant Shards and Dissonance Resonators is a profitable combo. Another thing you can do to maximize profit is to find a dissonant planet that has smooth terrain and as little vegetation to hide Radiant Shards as possible so you can see them for far away with ease. Also keep in mind extreme weather types.
I just discover this yesterday but instead of farming like in the video, you can instead do the ship delete glitch instead. I notice it give upgrades when dissemble and one of my S rank ship give 3 S rank upgrades. Dissemble ship, change quick, change it back, dissemble and repeat process and sell upgrades to merchants. I can farm 30,000 nanites in 10 minutes on top of farming credits too.
Great vid oddmangaming. Another way, spending units for nanites, unlock 5-10 pirate space stations, jump to each one, buy up arms/tech crates at the vendor, portal to a planet, then portal to standard space station, open all the tech items, 15-25 minutes is 30-50k nanites, but at the cost of units, 1-2 million units per pirate station. I havent seen any vids on this style.
Hey, Brother! Thanks for the tips. I forgot about the contraband at outlaw stations. I'll also look into making a video about farming sentinel glass and selling sentinel upgrades for nanites as well.
Eleven months ago I made a video about this. In it I create about 50,000 nanites in about 12 minutes. You need to turn on closed captioning to see the subtitles in my video. Note also that this method has the advantage that it works efficiently in permadeath mode, where stack sizes are limited. The limits to stack sizes slow down the techniques shown in this video.
@@Blitnockyea thats also the case on survival mode i will try this method once i get the money rolling for now im cooking meat stew its be3n 4 uears since i played but still knew that meat stew got me really far really early
@@TheLoneWolf1313 the nice thing is you can at least break even, if not make a profit, if you buy all the illegal goods while you're picking up the arms/tech packages and then sell the black market commodities in a normal system
You can build an infinite amount of refiners on your freighter. I have 30 on mine so i get 30 stacks and then make 60k nanites each round. Do this twice and you will unlock everything that needs nanites in the whole game
@spotgoober3904 airless planets are low gravity so escaping them is really easy. If your looking for a longer jetpack burst just go to any space station and buy movement modules I have about 4 installed and it last around 40 seconds
@@maximusbarlow5577yea but thats bullshit i dont have time for and i thought selling stew to kronos was tedious , i barely have to lift a finger while your dodging enemies and wasting time
Thanks for watching! Absolutely! Supercharging the Optical Drill blueprint for the mining laser almost doubles your output, which is especially important when farming curious deposits for nanites.
New player here (just started this past weekend): I just ran into the runaway mould the other night. I just so happened to have the mining upgrade on my multitool set to 88%. It blew my mind that I had over 1k nanites at the time (hell, I JUST got my frigate last night). Thank you for this video - it was informative and concise (easy to understand). I'll be making more than a few bases, now. :D
i have a planet where i established 10 runaway mold bases. and i just transport around the bases. each base has at least 4 refiners, plus the "home" base has 12 refiners and a trade terminal. Important note here... you can have more than 3 refiners. you can have 3 medium and 1 large in a single spot on a base. you can spread them out on your refining base in groups (of 4) that are 50 or 60 units apart. The planet also has loads of gravitino balls. I use base teleport modules and my roamer exocraft when farming here because it is an aggressive sentinel planet. aggressive sentinel planets and extreme planets tend to have the best resources. The mold bases are all enclosed so as to keep the sentinels at bay. between grav balls and mold (with adequate refining capabilities), I can pull 40k+ nanites per hour and, easily make 50 an additional million units from grav balls. i have over a billion units at this point. final note: an fully upgraded multi tool is key for efficient farming. I use an S class sentinel rifle to make short work of the mold balls.
You actually can have more than three medium refiners per base. You can only have three within close proximity of one another. So make them in clusters of three and make sure those clusters are separated by at least 30 units of distance. For good measure, you could add two larger binders to each of your three medium refiner clusters. I did this on my main base. As in linked them all together with a small network of short range teleporters. I haven’t used this set up to farm nanites yet, but it significantly sped up my production line of Fusion Ignitors once I got them all up and running.
If you have good standing with the native races, you can use their "friends discount" to farm nanites as well. Buy all of the S and A class tech upgrades from all four vendors at a space station for the 50% off discount, then just sell them back again. You can do the C and B class items as well but the profit is small. Do NOT buy the ship cores, though. Those cost a lot of nanites and only sell for a few units. Depending on how many tech upgrades are available, you can make a profit of several thousand nanites at each station. It's not fast, but it's easy to do any time you are visiting a space station for other reasons.
I didn't build a base at every mold deposited, I found 4 deposits, marked them with save beacons (because they persist no matter how much you travel off planet or reload) and built a base in the middle. I just fly around the deposited until I have 3 stacks (max # of refiners) put those in the refiners, and while they're processing (~20 min) I go out and harvest more mold. I like this method because of all the refiner glitches. You don't want to leave stuff in the refiners and leave the planet. 50/50 they're empty when you return. And the large refiners on freighters are THE WORST. I always have around 500k, refill at 300k. Takes about 90 minutes, but only because of the processing time.
@@charlietheturdil8632 refiners and harvesters have a major glitch/flaw, if you leave the system, any items left in the refiners will vanish. is this perhaps what is happening to you? or do you mean they actually dont work? as in you put stuff in and click 'begin' but they do nothing?
You are actually not limited to 3 medium refiners per base. They just have to be far enough apart. From my testing, you can place another med refiner as long as the next nearest is more than 6 blocks away. This is the same for the large refiner, but you can only put one of them in each spot
Do like me and build a base on a Dead planet/Dissonant and With runaway mold, In addition to one on a radioactive Planet (Dissonant) extreme storms! Build a base next to the biggest group of Mold, If u want u can build another base on the same planet, next to another group, then U can fly ur starship between the two (Or use the exocraft if they’re kinda close) They will respawn, Or if there’s a space station, teleport from ur base and back again, to make them Respawn, but make sure u wait for the radiation storm! If u want shelter u could just sit in ur ship or build a Mudhut there until the Storm comes! i suggested Extreme Radioactive cuz the storms happen more often, it means 2X The mold and Atlantidium! Use the best Atlantid MT u got for it and make sure the mining laser is installed and Linked to the Runic laser 💪
Awesome vid! I just got back into NMS with the latest expedition... and didn't even know you can craft your own ships now! So exciting! But I've been collecting nanites the old-fashioned way... by just doing nexus and bounty missions. This is so helpful... especially where the Class reactors are a little nanite pricey for ship crafting! Two thumbs up!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad my video was helpful! There are several effective ways to farm nanites in NMS now. I have a few videos on my channel demonstrating how to do it.
Good to know. I just started the other day and found a planet on my starter system with runaway mold. But my multitool wasn't advanced enough to harvest. Now i know what to work on to get what i wanted. Thanks 😊
I cook meat stew and sell it yo kronos on the anomaly gives you 80 to 160 nanites per stew and all you need is mordite its a method you can do as soon as you hit the anomaly thebfirst time all you need is 10 salvaged data and you can buy the foodprocessor at the anomaly . Then i just start killing any animal i find for tons of mordite its quite tedious giving kronos all the stew you made because he still takes one at the time but it takes but with about 400 mordite you make 200 meat stew in 16 min exactly then its gonne take you another 20 min to sell it all wich gives me about 12.000 to 15000 nanites depending on how much kronos likes my stew and all this on about an hour . This method has been in the game almost from the start and is overlooked by many people or they find it to tedious to sell the stew but done well you can sell kronos 1 stew every 5 to 7 seconds and that adds up fast including the factvthis can be done as soon as you enter the anomaly with no other requirements other then 10 salvaged data i think its the best method to start making nanites quick Seriously im 30 hours in now and have nothing left to buy at the anomaly thats paid with nanites this way you also dont have to bother with anything less then s class upgrades on all you gear and ships . On top of that you have unlocked making a lot of exspensive stuff really early on and fully legit and now im building a stasis device farm on my freighter
Saved to my NMS playlist. Had been farming units with interceptor salvaging and then using some of those units to pay pirate tech and arms packs then selling the X-Mods. This feels a little more organic and avoids spending any of my hard earned units.
@@OddManGaming Well it was. I don't know whether the recent update did something to break it, but every last one of the bases has vanished. Settlements are still there and messages, but the bases just gone. Broke my heart as I was all set for a second run to get my damage based multitool to S-Class.
Once I discovered these balls I did the exact same thing. Put walls up so they don't roll away and started harvesting. I am now flush with Nanites, with no less than 60,000 on me and always have a dozen stacks in storage of mold which converts 9999 to 1999 nanites.
Thanks for watching. The curious deposits are a Godsend when it comes to farming nanites. Next thing I need is to build up my freighter base with as many refiners as possible to refine the "refiner" process.
I found that getting my Explorer/Merchants/Mercenary guild standing to exalted allows me to collect at least two upgrade tech blueprints for FREE at every space station. The week for approximately 400 nanites a piece. Warping from station to station allowed me to collect 20 in 5 minutes which when sold gave me nearly 10,000 nannies in Leeds then 10 minutes 😊
Thanks for watching. Refining pugneum / atlantidium is not as efficient as farming curious deposits, but it's a great way for new players to get nanites quickly with little investment.
I'll give this a try next time I come across curious deposits. So far I've been picking fights with the sentinels that show up at manufacturing plants and taking out the full wave from inside, and selling the plans I get from their shards and from pirates at pirate stations.
Hey, Bro. Just remember to supercharge the optical drill upgrade for your mining beam to boost your runaway mold yield. You'll make a crap ton of nanites that way.
@@OddManGaming My multi tool is full maxed in terms of mining upgrades. But is there Any way to boost the amount of nanites produced? for every 9999 I put in I get 2000 out. It's the fastest method I've come across so far but still really time consuming to grind up to getting a S class multi tool and ship.
Great vid. I hadn’t thought to enhance my mining beam so that’s great advice. And didn’t know the dissonant stuff gave nanites. 2 x great info. Subbed and thank you so much
I just found this video and im a nms vet its hard to learn stuff but you helped me make a fungul Mold base for lots of nanites thanks it helps out a lot
This is what I do for mine. On one planet, I found 3 deposits, 1 with 17, 1 with 18 and 1 with 23 moulds. Set up 3 bases with refiners maxed out in all 3 and the nanites sky rocket. There are multiple other deposits, but only need 2 to be honest
@OddManGaming the 3 deposits are all on the same planet, 2 of the bases are right by each other and the 3rd is half way around the planet. Would love to get a picture and send it to you to show you. I should still have that game, doubt I deleted it.
I have a robot pet planet. Several feeders and harvester in middle to gather wire. Collect and consume. Not as quick, but a lot less labor involved. Finding the planet is the hardest part.
@OddManGaming it only gives 7 or so each, but the collector litterly collects 100s of them for you. Use a nutrient processor and carbon to make animal pellets. Have a few plant walls in base to get the carbon to make pellets. It's mostly a passive way to collect. Just stop by and collect, refill the feeders, and consume. Mold refining is quicker if you are in a hurry, but over time, this method adds up.
@@rurallawwildwest9679 Looks like you many need to be in your base for it to work now. Doesn't seem to work well while I'm away from my base, but got a 1000 nanites in no time while in the base.
does the class of your multitool increase the amount of resources you get from mining since mine is b tier but I am getting notably less than you in the video(I'm relatively new)
Thanks for watching. The multitool's class determines its overall base stats (damage, mining speed, etc.). The upgrades that you install determine the yield of your recourses. Make sure you install the mining upgrades (Optical Drill and any other S-Class upgrades) in supercharged slots to maximize your output.
If you run into a pirate system and have enough units you can buy suspicious arms or tech and they proc a pretty high chance to drop 300 nanite cluster a piece.
find a planet with dissonance as they usually have radiant shards, living fragments, drillers and grav balls. establish a base with refiners (3 medium and 2 large is the local limit and it works), a trade terminal and a Roamer bay. Next just buzz around in your exocraft using your advanced mining laser to harvest shards as well as hopping in and out picking up grav balls. use your cannon to blast the drillers and gather inverted mirrors also. If sentinels become too troublesome, move to another area as you can easily outrun them in your exocraft. FIll your cargo storage in your suit and your exocraft then head back to your trade terminal and sell the grav ball and refine the shards. radiant shards are the most efficient source of nanites since they refine quickly. a full stack of shards (10) will net you 500 nanites and refine in just a few minutes. I also have a runaway mold network of bases set up and they are fun... but a full stack of mold (9999) takes 20 mins to refine. the yield for mold to nanite is 5:1. after i make the circuit of my mold farms, i end up with 50 or so full stacks of mold and refining does become a bottleneck. Radiant shards yield 50:1 and refine much faster. As an added bonus and, depending on the grouping size of the grav balls, you can net of millions of units per hour on top of tens of thousands of nanites. when possible, I like to set up on planets that have the grav balls in bigger clusters, but the main focus are the shards. this method requires no glitching. glitching is cheating. Aggressive sentinel and hostile environment planets are usually loaded with exotic resources and curious deposits.
I just farm for larval cores from the whispering eggs. A full sack of 10 will net you 500 nanites. You can either sell them or refine them into nanites with any refiner. I personally choose to refine them cuz then I don’t have to stop my exploring to go to a space station or summon the anomaly. I just slap some of the cores into my personal refiner and continue with my exploration. Easy peasy lemon squeezy
I just turned on free purchase in the game settings) To me it makes the game more enjoyable to play. I still have to get resources to build stuff. But it is heck of a lot easier. Equipment slot upgrades are a click of a button. All upgrades are free also.
Definitely gonna have to set up a base around some of those! Didn't even think to do that on the one planet I've seen them on so far. I've been farming sentinels and selling the gear upgrades, as well as buying all the S-class upgrades at every Gek space station since I'm a high enough rank to make a roughly 100 profit per upgrade from reselling them, which leads to 1.5k-2k nanites per station. You could realistically just sit there and reload autosaves to restock and repeat that method, but it does feel pretty cheesy to spam, so I only do it if I pass through a Gek system.
I buy suspicious packets, open them, and sell the upgrades to the tech merchant. I get about 4k nanites for 4M units. I can make about 500M in a couple hours. So i harvest stuff and craft my stasis devices, sell them 10 ata time, use that cash to buy up the suspicious packets. I usually hit about 10-15 systems that will get me 40-80k nanites for 90 minutes of effort. I play about 3hiurs a dayz so the rest of tye time im tweaking the farms and mines and gas harvesters, refining materials.
That's pretty much what I do as well. I'd scrap a couple of sentinel ships, and use the cash to by the suspicious packages of tech and weapons. It's easy to get units in the game, so buying and selling outlawed tech and weapon upgrades is a pretty solid method of getting legit nanites.
When using sentinel ships you can hover in place and shoot the ground to gather resources, might not be as efficient as mining laser but more time efficient or is if you have decent weapon set ups on the ship
buy suspicious packets on the black market, sell the tech and arms modules to the scrap dealer for nanites, sell the contraband in a regulated system to regain some of your units spent on the packets. if you need more money, set up a farm or hunt down sentinel interceptors to scrap, they bring in a lot of units.
I just fly between two Outlaw systems and buy the Suspicious Tech and Suspicious Weapon packages from the Outlaw space stations, I seem to get like 10-12 on avg. They usually give the Suspicious Weapon, Tech stuff which sells for like 330 nanites ish each. Not sure how much it is per hour as I was also farming Freighter Modules from the Pirate dreadnaught at the same time, but I grinded out like 50k nanites to upgrade an Interceptor to S class pretty quickly.
Man, I regret having destroyed all that green slime now… I recently went onto my first salvage freighter, and while I was exploring the hull, I decided to put the slime I was getting from the creepy bugs into my personal refiner a whole bunch of times. I didn’t know they eventually turn into nanites! Also, for people who might want to farm a whole bunch of slime, abandoned freighters are the way to go. They have these massive blobs of flesh that regenerate when you leave the area temporarily, and when you destroy them all they give you a lot of slime.
Thanks for that tip, Bro! I've always ignored the slime because of the amount of time needed to refine it to nanites. I bet that with a freighter base stocked with refiners would make refining slime much easier. I need to try this. Thanks again.
You can have more refiners, just have them at different parts of the base. You just need some distance between them... I have 6 medium and 4 large at my base. You can probably have even more...
I've just started playing nms so I'll be back when I'm a bit further into the game. I'm not sure this is exactly a new player strat but I'm sure this info will be very handy.
Hey dude great vids, do you plan on making an updated Units farming method as returning players like me are struggling to make good units since they patched the cobalt and chlorine thing haha
Hey! Thanks for watching! Absolutely, I can make an updated video in unit farming. The easiest way IMO is by scrapping sentinel interceptors, which sell for a ton of cash (between $16m -$45m and up). You only need to find one abandoned camp on a dissonant world and unlock the Harmonic Interface to locate crashed sentinel ships.
If you have an oxygen hot-spot mine, chlorine is still a great way to make money early. It can be a bit tedious to do all the refining, but chlorine is still a good money maker.
Get the economy scanner fly to outlaw systems and buy blackmarket goods and the blueprints and rinse and repeat about 5 times and youll have landed about 50,000 nanites and tenfold your units once you sell in a normal system
Refine the inverted mirrors, radiant shards, and pugneum after going on a dissonance killing spree. I set up my basis on dissonate worlds just plain harvesting can be boring.
I did a combo of things for nanites but my favorite way is to buy a ton of pirate tech mods so I can min max my permadeath save and selling what I don't need
Survival stack size is kicking my ass with these.. Ended up just converting units to nanites in pirate stations. Buying suspicious tech/arms then sold for nanites.
Make a money farm and warp to pirate stations and buy all that stuff you can convert into nanite, such as hexit/mordite, larval egg, hypnotic eyes.. Goes best with an interceptor, becouse it can go up to 1200 ly warp range, so it's easy to find pirate stations
I've only ever found one curious deposit or runaway mold and at the time I had no idea what runaway mold even ones but I did end up refining it and gaining a little bit of nanites I have yet to find another runaway mold area so that I can make a base and start a runaway mold Farm so I've been using the radiant Shard method because I found a pretty good planet that has tons of radiant shards but I was not aware of the other method combining pugneum and Atlantidium. No idea that it made running mold
if u endgame player with 100mil+ units just scrap ships, go to 3 star economy system, wait S, A or B class ships land on space station, buy it scrap it, sell the upgrades module, repeat
i invested the time to max out all my guild reputations. in two hours time i easily have 50k nanites plus all the inventory expansions. admittedly this took some time and effort to set up but it was a great set of goals to get me going starting out. it is pretty boring going through the loading screens constantly.
@@OddManGaming can confirm buying the suspicious tech from outlaw stations is the fastest way to get nanos (read that on a lower comment) but the guilds are a great way to get free inventory expansions and access to hard to craft materials. Otherwise it takes entirely too long to farm guilds. I just tried it again and only got 20k (in that time frame) nanos for my last run. Too random to be reliable.
I just blast worms from space if you kill them with the multi tool they drop over double but it's easier to just blast them with the ship and fly to the next location.
I find that I don't farm nanites at all. Last playthrough I did something crazy. I did not dump all the foodstuffs and vegetables. Cooked them all up into whatever they would make, then run a macro overnight to turn everything in to Cronus on the Anomaly. 50-80k nanites overnight.
Thanks for watching. Just follow the tutorial and you will see the same results. There should also be a link in this video's description on where to get a good multitool for the job.
Thanks for watching! You're correct. Sentinel upgrades are a great source of nanites. I'll probably do a video tutorial on the best way to farm salvaged glass.
@@OddManGaming farming salvaged glass is a good video subject, useful for a few different reasons. I need a buttload of sentinel upgrade modules to waste on min-maxing.
Runnaway mould is by far a faster method. Gotta hunt and setup on a planet. Thanks, nanites were slowing me down. I was farming glass and prospecting it for upgrades to sell. Using the level 3 alert the spawns the spawner that keeps making 2 sentinels, kill for 30 minutes and see how that compares in this for nanites. Just curious if it measures up to 15k ish for mould or the 6k from pug + atlant refine...
Easy way early game is get the portable refiner and refine all the goo from damaged machinery you find. Usually just keeps giving you more goo but eventually it will all turn into nanites. Typed before i watched the whole vid so not sure if you mentioned it
@@OddManGaming usually just my early game way before i find a curious deposit. If you have the personal refiner its pretty easy and sorta passive, just gotta deal with the noise of the refiner on your back and remember to check it when it stops.
I Murder Sentinel Interceptors to get lots and lots of nanites! I love space combat, the AI cant handle me. Didn't know about the runaway mold though... Cool.👾👾👾 ♾♾♾
The way i get it is by getting a lot ove money with chlorine then just buying ships its not a really good method but if you have plenty of money its not too big a deal worst part is waiting for A or S class ships
Does the mould from atlantideum and pugneum give more nanites than the pugneum alone? Pugneum too does convert directly to nanties, and at a very rapid rate too, and atlantideum converts to pugneum iirc. Guess you get less, but it's faster maybe?
Thanks for watching. I'll need to double-check the conversion ratio between pugneum and atlantideum to mould and just pugneum. I believe you get more because of the time required to refine the two into nanites.
@@OddManGaming Yeah, I'm not sure if atlandtideum is fast, but pugneum is super fast. Time sinks usually give more, normally anyway. And if you set and forget and come back later, it doesn't really matter if it takes a while.
I allso have one option that isnt that cheaty i guess. Go to a planet with corrupted sentinels. (The one full of purple crystals) and farm the crystals/mirrors from these sentinel diggers each crystal gives 50 nanites and each mirror thing gives 95 + you can find nests with larva there to allso convert into nanites
@@SuperBangBus - not cheaty at all, I’ve often travelled across dissonant planets, harvesting shards and resonators, and refining them as I go, easily making thousands of nanites every ten or fifteen minutes.
I harvest sentinels for modules, and sell them. I think it's around 350 nanites per module. Mostly I just like blasting sentinels, so it works out well.
The actual best way is to use a portable refiner to make 4095 nanites. Then, put something like 9 other refiners at the same emplacement (just a bit in front of the first one). Delete all of them except the first one (that's a duplication glitch). Then, take out the thing inside the refiner (not the nanites though) and repeat, then put something back in, and repeat, etc. That should do 40k + every 30 seconds (it's still working btw)
So between my 3 curious deposit basses and 15 refiners I am always stopping in at least once a day for roughly 30k nanites and in the same system as one of my mines I found a player base with 4-5 separate curious deposits so I almost always have 20-30 full stacks of runaway mold to refine so sometimes I have to stop by an additional base to drop runaway mold into another 5 refiners and that keeps me sitting at or above 400k nanites most of the time
Thanks for watching! I have 3 curious deposit bases but use those in conjunction with farming curious deposits at other player bases whenever I need large quantities of nanites quickly. I keep my medium refiners full with runaway mold constantly while I'm out harvesting.
😮Easiest way to make nanites even to new players by far is to jump from pirate planet to pirate planet, buy suspicious packages that give upgrades, larval and hadal cores, all mold and mold derivatives, open packages and sell them to pirate vendor, process the rest. 40 to 50k nanites in 20 mins, no need to harvest anything, you always run out of deposits and it takes time to find new, this way you just use pirate station teleporter and money, and get lot of other neat stuff too to sell
I find this kind of farming to be a bit boring, usually what i do if i need nanites is that i warp to a new system using my freighter (ik its slower than normally warping but its cool asf) and then i go around trying to find all of the creatures on planets and upload them to get the bonus. It can be quite painful sometimes especially with cave animals but yeah i do this in conjunction with credit farming, aka buying low, filling up my freighter storage inventory slots with the different commodities and selling at a high. I also try to scan as much vegetation and minerals on top of that as possible to then get nanites from helios in anomaly. It doesn't yield much, but maybe per hour the most i can expect is around 10'000 nanites so, yeah i probably have to do your method at some point.
If you ACTUALLY want to get a lot of nanites, go to a dissonant system, get the echo locater from the walkers and go get the sentinal ship you get from it, sell it for a bunch of units, then go to pirate systems and buy a bunch of suspicious arms and tech and open them for all the modules, then sell em. Can have like 20-30k nanites in like 2hours
Thanks for watching. Good point regarding using the exocraft for farming inverted mirrors. The radiant chards also yield a ton of nanites when refined as well.
Hey there, just saw a vid where scanning the flora and fauna was netting 30/40/50K worth of nanites using an S class upgraded scanner with the visor. Takes seconds to do just scanning away
Thanks for watching. Scanning the Flora, Fauna, and rocks will only give you units, not nanites. If you scall all fauna or flora on a planet, you'll get a nanite bonus for discoveries.
Correct. You can make even more nanites by buying and selling black market tech and weapons. That's the beauty of No Man's Sky. You can play the game however you want.
My base is on an airless planet with tons of larval cores AND runaway mold spheres to farm! If anyone wants to come get it let me know and I’ll drop coords.
@@JustanerOwO2001 There's no need for you to be rude. Hello Games probably removed it just for this current expedition. Go search for it from damaged machinery. You might get a random upgrade.
Thanks for watching. Sounds like you're in Survival mode. The number of items that can be refined at once and your inventory capacity are both limited.
Thanks for watching. Remember, backpack refiners require fuel whereas medium and large refiners do not. Always ensure that your medium and large refiners are constantly running while you're farming curious deposits for runaway mold.
Thanks for the update. I noticed that as well. The Optical Drill is still at the Space Anomaly, but it's named something else. It should still be directly below the advanced mining laser.

What's the range on the teleporters? If it's over 600u that is a great idea as that is the range at which the deposits respawn.
Nice!
@@tqbatman3482 You can use a regular base teleporter that can go to any of your bases that have one
@@saxmanseldon could you give more information on this, details of the setup you had
Thanks for watching!
i've been doing this in my regular exocraft as not got many upgrades for the nomad yet but didn't know the nomad could go over water that's cool!
Units were no problem to get, but nanites were holding me back. Thanks for the video bud
No problem. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! Correct. I have a freighter base setup to do nothing but refine nanites.
Airless planets have alot of larvel core eggs that are worth 50 nanites each!!! A stack of 10 equals 500 nanites and takes half the time!

@spotgoober3904 airless planets are low gravity so escaping them is really easy. If your looking for a longer jetpack burst just go to any space station and buy movement modules I have about 4 installed and it last around 40 seconds

Absolutely thorough and excellent guide! 200 hours in and i never thought to supercharge the laser!!
You bet, Brother! Thanks for watching!
i have a planet where i established 10 runaway mold bases. and i just transport around the bases. each base has at least 4 refiners, plus the "home" base has 12 refiners and a trade terminal.
@@choosing.tangent I may or may not have placed 10 large refiners in my capital ship adjacent to my portal room...
"Jaws with the bling bling"🤣😂
Thanks for watching. Am I right? He looks like Jaws with gold teeth.
Thanks for those tips, Brother!
Correct. Thanks for the tips. I may create a video on selling banned modules for nanites in the future. Thanks for watching.
Very good points. Thanks for watching.
If you have a Freighter depending on the class, you can put 10 20 30 large refiners. On it
Thanks for watching. Once I consolidate all of my curiosity farms on one save with my freighter, that's my intention.
Seems mine never work 😢
@@charlietheturdil8632 refiners and harvesters have a major glitch/flaw, if you leave the system, any items left in the refiners will vanish. is this perhaps what is happening to you? or do you mean they actually dont work? as in you put stuff in and click 'begin' but they do nothing?
You are actually not limited to 3 medium refiners per base. They just have to be far enough apart. From my testing, you can place another med refiner as long as the next nearest is more than 6 blocks away. This is the same for the large refiner, but you can only put one of them in each spot
Correct. You just need to space them out a bit.

@OddManGaming broo. Last night, I figured out storm crystals and got half of my ships inventory full. So many credits
This method has been in the game almost from the start and is overlooked by many people or they find it to tedious to sell the stew but done well you can sell kronos 1 stew every 5 to 7 seconds and that adds up fast including the factvthis can be done as soon as you enter the anomaly with no other requirements other then 10 salvaged data i think its the best method to start making nanites quick
Seriously im 30 hours in now and have nothing left to buy at the anomaly thats paid with nanites this way you also dont have to bother with anything less then s class upgrades on all you gear and ships .
On top of that you have unlocked making a lot of exspensive stuff really early on and fully legit and now im building a stasis device farm on my freighter
Thanks for watching. Wow! I didn't consider cooking as a way to get nanites. Thanks for the tip!

Hey OddMan. ANOTHER nice outfit man. Love the fashions in this game. All the art is so creative. Game play seems so sleek too.
Thanks for watching, Bro! I wish I had more time to create NMS content, especially with GTAO being kind of dead right now.
@@OddManGaming Have you had any issues with Nanites vanishing from the refiner only to reappear at a later time?
I found that getting my Explorer/Merchants/Mercenary guild standing to exalted allows me to collect at least two upgrade tech blueprints for FREE at every space station.

That's pretty much what I do. I've found deposits on multiple planets but never on the same planet.
Thanks for watching. I'll need to try using feeders and harvesters as a means of farming nanites.

Yes! That's also a great way to get nanites.
find a planet with dissonance as they usually have radiant shards, living fragments, drillers and grav balls. establish a base with refiners (3 medium and 2 large is the local limit and it works), a trade terminal and a Roamer bay.
Thanks for watching. I already have videos on those methods on my channel. That's the beauty of No Man's Sky. You can play it however you want.
Thanks doe watching. I also have a video on my channel regarding larval core farming for nanites.
I just turned on free purchase in the game settings) To me it makes the game more enjoyable to play. I still have to get resources to build stuff. But it is heck of a lot easier. Equipment slot upgrades are a click of a button. All upgrades are free also.
Thanks for watching. Agreed. Changing the difficulty settings makes the game more relaxing IMO.
Good tips. Thanks for watching!
Correct. The ability to hover makes sentinel ships great for harvesting basic resources. Thanks for watching.
buy suspicious packets on the black market, sell the tech and arms modules to the scrap dealer for nanites, sell the contraband in a regulated system to regain some of your units spent on the packets. if you need more money, set up a farm or hunt down sentinel interceptors to scrap, they bring in a lot of units.
Thanks for the tips. I may create a video on selling banned upgrade modules for nanites in the future. Thanks for watching.
Good tips! Thanks for watching!
Correct. I believe if you have more than 3, then you need to space the next refiner about 50-100u away.
WOW!

Thanks for watching. Correct. I already have a video on selling black market upgrades for nanites on my channel. Again, much appreciated!
I was lucky enough to find 3 different areas to build farms I’ve setup on my starter planet for the curious deposits.
I'm still on the hunt for curious deposits myself since I can't seem to fund multiples on a single planet.
Refine the inverted mirrors, radiant shards, and pugneum after going on a dissonance killing spree. I set up my basis on dissonate worlds just plain harvesting can be boring.
Thanks for watching.
I just go to a sentinel planet and mine radiant shards for an hour and I usually get enough radiant shards to make a few thousand nanites

Make a money farm and warp to pirate stations and buy all that stuff you can convert into nanite, such as hexit/mordite, larval egg, hypnotic eyes.. Goes best with an interceptor, becouse it can go up to 1200 ly warp range, so it's easy to find pirate stations
I'm going to try this method. Thanks for the tip and for watching!
@@OddManGaming Dont forget the suspicious packets.
I just made 40k Nanites in like 30 minutes (without refining the differend stages of runaway mold)
I've only ever found one curious deposit or runaway mold and at the time I had no idea what runaway mold even ones but I did end up refining it and gaining a little bit of nanites

i invested the time to max out all my guild reputations. in two hours time i easily have 50k nanites plus all the inventory expansions. admittedly this took some time and effort to set up but it was a great set of goals to get me going starting out. it is pretty boring going through the loading screens constantly.
I have to give that a try. Thanks for watching!
@@OddManGaming can confirm buying the suspicious tech from outlaw stations is the fastest way to get nanos (read that on a lower comment) but the guilds are a great way to get free inventory expansions and access to hard to craft materials.
Very interesting. I know Cronos pays nanites for food. I'll need to try that.
On permadeath/survival you can only refine 250 at a time. A little more tedious so just farming glass from sentinels is much faster

Farming glass from the sentinels gives you valuable mods you can sell at space stations
Thanks for watching. Make sure you supercharge the optical drill upgrade for your mining beam to get up to an additional 86% yield in mould.
Easy way early game is get the portable refiner and refine all the goo from damaged machinery you find. Usually just keeps giving you more goo but eventually it will all turn into nanites. Typed before i watched the whole vid so not sure if you mentioned it
Thanks for watching. Refining the goo is time consuming but also effective at creating nanites.
Thanks for watching. Don't forget you can refine haline brains and radiant shard for nanites as well.
One tweak; you can have 3 medium refiners and 3 large. Doubling your yield per each 20 minute process.
Good tips. Thanks for watching
The way i get it is by getting a lot ove money with chlorine then just buying ships its not a really good method but if you have plenty of money its not too big a deal worst part is waiting for A or S class ships
Thanks for watching. Clorine used to be worth a lot more before the waypoint update released. Still not a bad way to make money though.
I have a network of bases that mine and grow resources for stasis devices, then I use them to buy npc ships and sell the modules
Good tips. Thanks for watching!
Did not know that, thanks!
No worries! Thanks for watching.
Killing sentinels for their glass is my favourite way. I learnt a few things here though.
Thanks for watching. I have a video on farming sentinel glass for nanites on my channel. You should check it out.
Catching and releasing fishing is another easy way to make nanites in the new update. With some fish netting you over 150 nanites.
Good point. Very true! Especially with the rare and legendary fish.
Thank you so much for this!!
No worries! thank you for watching! Glad it helped!
@@Adrena1in no no i mean the option that he uses is cheaty. Getting 10k nanites in 30 mins is not what devs intended yknow
@@SuperBangBus - You said your method "isn't that cheaty, I guess", and I'm agreeing with you. It's a very good method for getting lots of nanites.
Hey, Bro! It's not cheating if you're having fun.
Hey, Bro! It's not cheating if you're having fun.
Can the curious deposits spawn on any planets?
Hello! Thanks for watching. Yes! Curious deposits spawn on every planet type.
i choose this method too rather than cronus ,this is way faster compare to cooking and giving to cronus ..thankyou for this
Hey! Thank you for watching. I appreciate you!
I harvest sentinels for modules, and sell them. I think it's around 350 nanites per module. Mostly I just like blasting sentinels, so it works out well.
Thanks for watching. Farming salvaged glass for sentinel upgrades is a great way to make nanites.
Thanks for watching. That's the beauty of No Man's Sky. You can play your game however you want.
@@OddManGaming same I believe I currently have 4 full stacks of runaway mold in my inventory I really need to get refined
Thanks for watching. I have a video on my channel demonstrating that method of nanite farming. You should check it out.
Thanks for watching!
@craftingtyre23 That's the beauty of No Man's Sky, isn't it? You can play your game however you want.
@@OddManGaming indeed good sir
Inverted mirrors are also interesting for nanite farming. Each stack of 10 gives you 950 nanites and they can be easily "harvested" with a roamer
@@cmoor7928 I think you mistook unites and nanites. Scanning gives units.
Thanks for watching. Scanning the Flora, Fauna, and rocks will only give you units, not nanites. If you scall all fauna or flora on a planet, you'll get a nanite bonus for discoveries.
I had no idea that runaway mold does that haha.
Definitely keep the runaway mold. It's more valuable than gold in this game once it's refined into nanites.
That's my favorite weapon the sentinel. DPS IS 112,867
Thanks for watching! The sentinel multitools have the highest damage potential of any other multitool in the game.
You make more by buying all the blueprint in a station (with the discount from relation with the race) and then reselling them to the same vendor
Thanks for the information, Bro!
3:23 The Optical doesnt exist anymore...
The optical drill is still at the Space Anomaly but just under a different name. It should be directly beneath the Advanced Mining Laser.
@@OddManGaming there's only the Fishing Equipment
@@OddManGaming Well look at it, by yourself
@@JustanerOwO2001 There's no need for you to be rude. Hello Games probably removed it just for this current expedition. Go search for it from damaged machinery. You might get a random upgrade.
how do you have such big ones I can only refine 250 at a time and only have stacks of 500 in the inventory
Thanks for watching. Sounds like you're in Survival mode. The number of items that can be refined at once and your inventory capacity are both limited.
I was born in fire and oil destroying sentinals is my job
Thanks for watching!
Alternatively, dodge the grind with custom difficulty
That is true and it's a legit gameplay mechanic. Thanks for watching.
Your backpack should be the one working nonstop. You should be noticing when that droning noise in your ear stops.😊
Thanks for watching. Remember, backpack refiners require fuel whereas medium and large refiners do not. Always ensure that your medium and large refiners are constantly running while you're farming curious deposits for runaway mold.
I'm boring and I farm sentinels, it helps me forget that I'm farming instead of just fighting.
Thanks for watching! Sentinel upgrade farming is another great (and arguably more fun) way to make nanites.
Larval cores give 1:50 nanites
Correct.
Just a quick note since the last update i cant get the optical drill upgrade 😮
Thanks for the update. I noticed that as well. The Optical Drill is still at the Space Anomaly, but it's named something else. It should still be directly below the advanced mining laser.
dont forget, adding tainted metal with nanites in the refiner gets more nanites
Good tip! I'll try that next time!
