- A tier list rating the plants in the original Plants vs Zombies. Note most of the tiers are based off of their ability through the main Survival campaign, and I have changed my opinion on the rating of certain plants such as FumeShroom which I believe belongs in high B tier, Starfruit which I believe belongs in high A tier and Ice Shroom which I believe belongs at least in high C tier.

I love how every upgrade plant is in A or S tier, meanwhile Gold Magnet goes straight to F Tier.

@@Eidolon5150 Snow Pea can only stall single zombies and not multiple at one time due to the ambition. Puff Shrooms can handle thing with the right amount however.

Just a quick tip that normal movement speed, Zombies have to walks 3 tiles if you planted a potato mine as soon as you saw them, assuming there's noting blocking, it's a really good stall plant since the next zombie spawns around when the first one died, or they comes near your base(or there's a timer, but you saved 75 sun at the start of a game), so just place your Mine all the way to the back if you have one. Also the fire peas deals a really small AOE, or at'least Hits mutiple zombies

Cabbage pult can actually hit ladder, screen door, and snorkel zombies without having to actually hurt their individual shields (or having to let snorkel zombie rise up to eat another plant), which I think makes cabbage pult more useful then the peashooter.
U get him at last stage of game, only time you can play him in those situations is at chapter 2 wit 3 pre picked plants

@@-Puppet- I wasn’t talking about by itself, I was talking about spam strategies, almost all plants are bad by themselves, other than instant use plants ( Squash, Cherry bomb jalapeño, etc ) If you have not tried the strategy of placing two rows of sunflowers, I would recommend trying it, it allows for double the sun production, and more space between the zombies and mowers. Using double sunflower rows allows you to spam starfruit, for an almost guaranteed win. On multiplayer, you may have to be more cautious, and be more slow with sunflowers at the start of the match, try cheap defensive plants such as walnuts, garlics, of pumpkins to stall, then, if it works better, try planting a column of starfruit, with pumpkins on each of the front ones ( On all if possible ) then, once you have a good setup like that, spam them to your heart’s content. Hope this helped!

@@Tortle_owo I personally think Grave Buster, Fume-Shroom, Starfruit, Torchwood and even cactus should of been a little higher and chomper and the weird magnet thing I decently didnt forget the name of should be lower. Also Flowerpot and Lillypad should be in the same tier.

@@ninetyninex19 Cactus can be used in the earlier game before you can purchase caitlins. There not the best attacker out there and there highly outclassed but for the earlier game there not bad at all. I feel Cactus deserves a solid D tier. Also I find Grave buster to be quite useful in certain levels because there cheap and they can remove graves giving you the ability to make a more organised defense and if I remember correctly they even give you coins for every grave that's destroyed.

Putting a plant on a pot essentially makes the plant immune against gargantuars before the pot gets crushed

@Sonic . Exe but he is SO BAD, just because he summons a gargantuar dosen't mean hes good, because that only clears one lane and takes a long time, while you can use jalapeno instead which takes 1 second and is a lot more efficient

The threepeater’s purpose is to compact three lanes of pea shooters into one so you have more room to plant sunflowers. It also allows you to beat pool levels without aquatic plants. That is, unless it’s 3-4...

Also, you really did Fume Shroom and Starfruit dirty. The former is great at thinning out clumps of zombies and has pretty good DPS for its Sun cost, while the latter is killing machine in large numbers, despite the unorthodox firing pattern.
I do agree with that my placement of Fume shroom is underrated but I think starfruit May go up one tier at best for me. Even though if the screen was full of them it’s super good, that’s the same with pretty much any dps plant. Though Starfruit has 5 projectiles at once which is super nice, considering most of them are not in a straight line it makes calculating where to put the starfruit a lot more complicated then say a repeater. Now if you do get a bunch of them they are fantastic and because they do shoot everywhere they can be mostly planted mindlessly, but considering you get it pretty late in the game and it’s not very useful in endless or the roof levels, I just didn’t think it was THAT good.
@@ViddysVids The vast majority of DPS plants are a lot more expensive than Starfruit, can't defend multiple lanes at once and also can't shoot backward for killing Diggers Zombies. Say if a lane gets destroyed by Zomboni or something, the rest of your Starfruits would be able to defend that otherwise defendless lane.
Well to be honest I never really thought of that because most of the time the strategies I like to use out of survival are spike rock based and so I've never really had to worry about Zombonies, and it's not like the games hard so like any strategy I did worked most of the time besides in endless., where starfruits arent the most optimal anyways. My two major gripes with Starfruit is it's not super good when setting up but once you've got a row or two they are amazing, but also how long it is until you get it in adventure, and in the roof levels it's not unusable but its usually not worth the seed slot when you could have an extra catapult or bomb or something. And though in the survival modes they can mostly solo, especially in pool and fog I would imagine, I feel like other strategies are just better. I do think if I were to remake my list again I would probably bring it up to B or maybe even A but I'm not sure if it's S tier worthy to me but that's okay.
Also ShyGuyMask, even though i know you didn't do this on purpose I want to thank you for making your tier list video. It's gotten my channel a lot of traffic and it makes me super happy to see all these people come in and enjoy stuff I worked on and I really liked your vid aswell.
@@ViddysVids Starfruit isn't really difficult to use at the start of a level to be honest, if planted early enough one can defend from the first few Basic Zombie, especially if you keep the Zombies in place with Puff-shrooms. You can also simply plant Starfruit ahead of the Zombie and use its backward shot to kill the Zombie.
I'm interested to see what videos you'll make in the future if any as well.

I stalled the early zombies with Puffshrooms so they'll keep in place and the Starfruit can hit them.

To make cactus better, it should have every 4th spike it fires be a big spike that deals double damage. This would make it worth the extra 25 sun spent on it.
i’d say that it should have kind of a poison effect, when a zombie gets hit, the spike sticks in it and takes damage for some time after, you could even make it 150 to compensate

@@KR-wl5yd but here is the thing, survival endless is actually only a part of the game, yes it is infinitely long, but to average players, it is only a small part of the game, so it isn't that far off to the average players.

Remember how good Magnet-shroom was in this game? It's not pretty much used in PvZ 2 because PvZ 2 now has only a few amount of zombies with metal objects
Magnet Shroom is one of my favorite plants in pvz but I thought Viddy didn't like not plants?

no way in hell chomper is above fume shroom or ice shroom. chomper kills one enemy and then waits half a decade before attacking again. meanwhile fume shrooms take out whole rows of zombies at once. ice shroom can buy you time AND sun if you are being overrun or are still building up defences.
In the day, it can be placed at the back and when you are in trouble, coffee bean and then all the zombies frozen.

Cabbage pult is actually twice as strong as a peashooter. You don’t really have a reason to use it after getting the kernel pult, though.

In my opinion the cabbage pult should be in the same tier as peashooter. The reason why is because it's basically a direct upgrade to it. It's able to be used on rooftops hit snorkel zombies while submerged and damage screen door zombies.

Something you forgot to mention with cactus: It’s projectiles can’t be affected by torchwood. Another reason it blows
Luckily it got a major overhaul in pvz2, it now shoots piercing shots that hit all zombies on the lane and it hides in the ground to act like spikeweed if a zombie gets close to it
