That sort of thing is found all over the House of Commons. The former MP Martin Bell, Independent member for Tatton (1997-2001) once said that walking through the corridors of Westminster, he was struck by how often he could see Tory and Labour MPs enjoying friendly conversations; if a blazing argument was going on, it tended to be between a pair of MPs from the same party. Fundamentally, whether MPs are Conservative, Labour, Liberal or Nationalist, they all want the country to do well and they want to achieve good things for all the people of this country, whichever way they vote. It's just that they have different ideas about how to achieve it.

I find her to be a standard person from the midlands. I've met probably hundred of people like Jess Phillips, I've maybe met 3 or 4 Rees Moggs. I know which one i think is more representative of British people and which I'd prefer to have in Parliament.
Even just from the video alone, Mogg was lying about what Cameron had said about WW3..that isnt what he said.

Jess ought to have stuck to the matter at hand rather than try constantly to bring party politics into it. I'm sure she sees herself as some champion of the people but actions speak louder than words, character louder than one's espoused views - she's no better than any Tory. Jacob, conversely, conducted himself with the utmost decorum.

@@lankystudent We always did live in our own country. If you went to any other country like Germany and said the EU was taking away sovereignty, they'd laugh. The EU only makes common law for human rights and trading standards (something that's in the common folk's favour and something we should want. It benefits the poor, not the rich).
Meanwhile, the vast majority of English law is created by unelected officials in the House of Lords which is an arguably less democratic and worse system than the EU. The fact Brexiters aren't pushing for the British system now to be changed suggests an understanding of our own system, let alone the EU.
The only reason the NHS is no longer for sale to the US is because the public found out. Meanwhile, food standards, working hours, and health and safety are already being discussed to be worsened. Inflation has already caused every family in the UK to be poorer, and as someone whose studied economics I can tell you that'll be much worse in the future. Very beautiful, yes.
Please, tell me specifically which human rights protections common business laws the EU provided were bad and the brilliant new ones the Conservatives will bring in. As a Brexiter, you should be able to list a large number off the top of your head. It's funny that not even Nigel Farage is capable of this.

And now we know that Brexit has knocked "at least" 5% off GDP. The US aren't signing up to a trade deal, which was one of the big selling points. They really should have stayed in. Thatcher had it right : go in, keep Sterling, and get a rebate to contributions. The Euro is a disaster. But membership of this trading block, with free movement of capital, people, and goods is very sensible. Now employers can't get staff; foreigners have had to leave; and the country is looking like a basket case, increasingly dependent on the City of London, to such an extent that the regulators are again watering down the controls put in place to rein in bad actors after the GFC. I really hope they have another referendum on it in the next 10 years.

    1:10
She reduces it to party political politics
    2:19
She implies that if Brexit succeeds all immigrant nurses will have to leave, being ignorant of the points based system proposed.
Two members of the public stated they were voting to remain because it was _about the children_, how does it benefit the children to sell their future Parliamentary Democracy *permanently*, where they would otherwise have been able to kick-out any future government that did not adhere to the mandate it had campaigned on to serve a corporately controlled dictatorial bureaucracy *whom they never voted in, can’t remove and regarding the law are untouchable?*
    5:35
Again, forgetting that this has absolutely *nothing to do with Party Politics* she has another go regarding the differing views within the Conservative party, banging on about Cameron’s position being untenable.
    6:17
Even if there was a *temporal* downside to the economy as she insists, though many disagree… it would be preferable to the *permanent loss* of our sovereignty,. Yes we’ll still be able to vote and Parliament will sit, but only regarding what day they collect the bins in the week, nothing that refers to anything higher… that will be decided on our behalf by Brussels and if we don’t like it… tuff.

The Remain camp's constant touting of the value of immigration as a reason to remain part of the EU is their most nonsensical leap of logic of all (and that's up against some pretty stiff competition). The Brexit camp is NOT about stopping all migration, but rather having our own system that WE control and manage ourselves. Of COURSE there are benefits to immigration, but there are a lot fewer benefits to open-door policies where anyone can move anywhere totally unchecked. It's just not right. It's why we never became part of Schengen. It is NOT a racist thing to wish for control over your borders!
