Loads of shops in your walk about. Very busy. Didn’t see that many charity shops , noticed the AgeUK, so not as down and out as a lot of towns in Uk. A lot of mobility scooters . We did Butlins there years ago.
Cheers Eddie!! We did a walk along the coast a couple of years ago which took us past Butlin's. It is nothing like Tim remembers as a kid in the 60s 😆 We would say that, from what we saw, Skegness appears to be thriving 👍 Not many charity shops at all.
Great video, it's been a long time since I have visited Skegvegas, brought back a lot of nice memories and it' seems to have changed for the better. Might have to come back again after seeing this. Thank you Colin n Tim
Nicely put together chaps. ps. So many traditional seaside towns tagged as worst rated. We kinda like Cleethorpes that's worst too. But on a fine day has a variety, especially quirky bit around Sea View Street... cheers
Thank you for the video, Great as always. My sister & i holidayed in Skegness, two year ago, we'll be there again in 2024. We go to Blackpool for two years, then Skegness. There are some nice shops in Skegness Hildred shopping cetre is ok. Theres a home bargains in there too. Market wasnt open when we were there either. Theres a lake for ducks too. Its nice in Skegness.
Thank you, Chris. That is really helpful feedback about the longer videos. I think we're all surprised that Colin didn't try to purloin that jacket either! 🧥✨💖
Nice to see a positive video on Skegness, I am from Nottingham but come here every couple of weeks, most of the negative comments about Skegness are from people who have never been, there is something for everyone, flashing lights and drama are easy to find, but there are also some lovely restaurants, some great animal parks and nature reserves on the outskirts, there is also lovely countryside a few minutes walk away, next time you come back you have to try no9 restaurant in the town centre, great value and superb quality Mediteranean food
Ooh! Thanks for your recommendation, Stuart. We shall make a note of No.9 for the next time we visit. We love Mediterranean food. Sounds like there's tons more to Skegness for us to cover in our videos. Thanks again! ⛵🌊💡
I have memories of Skegness from the early 60s when I was pre-school age. Me and my family went to Butlins a few times and it was always great, I still have black and white photo's of me and mum or dad when I did the cutest child contest or something like that in the days when they had glamorous grandmother competitions too. The theatre at Butlins was called the Gaiety Theatre which was also great to go to. Since growing up though, Skeggy has never been my favourite resort, I always preferred Blackpool or Scarborough. The last time I visited Skeggy was around 1986 with friends and it was quite uneventful if I recall. I have no desire to return but I'm glad that from what I see in this video, it seems to be doing great business. There are lots of shops and few closed premises. Seaside resorts used to be famous for theatres and their star attractions in summer seasons but this seems to be a thing of the past nowadays, not just in Skeggy, but in all resorts. Excellent video though.
Hi Tidybitz! Sounds like you and Tim are about the same age. He used to go to Butlin's every year with his family when he was a boy. They went to Skegness a couple of times but more often they went to the camp in Filey. Do you remember that all the rides and entertainment were free? You only needed ice cream money! 🍦🍦🍦
@@thechatterguys ... Yes, I remember everything was free, It was great. At an earlier toddler age, I too was taken to Filey, but I don't recall anything about it, I just have a few photos of me on swings and rides with mum. Who knows, Tim and I may have been there at the same time. Ha!
You never know, Tidybitz. Tim has a photo of himself on a roundabout where the carriages were shaped like boats and were in real water 🌊 Cutting edge for the 60s, we think!
Cheers Nigel. We love it when anyone quotes us. We were reviewing a bar this weekend and the entertainer opened by saying, "Before we start, I'd just like to say ... He's Colin and he's Tim ...". We were amazed and delighted at the same time 🤹🥰🐚 xxx
My sister loves that bag shop, tho there not very well made.. she bought 6 but they split. There are a lot of pubs if you like a drink, i drink i dont. Skegness is nice & flat for the walking impaired, we hire mobility scooters, for that reason. Just after the trafic lights on your right is a craft shop where you can get puzzles etc.we stay in hotels, im VERY, VERY claustrophobic. Youll find designer shops in the arcade near the jewellers.
Hello Lynne. Thank you so much for your comment. We loved Skegness and we are hoping to make more videos there soon. Thanks for telling us where to find the designer shops, we were 🤔 thinking that Skegness didn't have any. Your sister sounds like a hardcore 👜 handbag fan 😊 Such a pity the ones she bought in Skeggy didn't last ☹️ xxx PS We found some really inexpensive jigsaws in the Street Angels charity shop in Blackpool 👍
.. .Hi Guys.. .enjoyed this .. never been to Skegness ... but it's not that far from me & not as bad as it's been made out to be.. it is what it is - bucket & spade day out at the seaside & fish n'chips - will definitely be checking it out now, based on your recommendation - fair play to you both - your reviews are fair.
Great nice long vlog gang you know I would of loved a big wheel ride or the boat lake or a few arcade reviews but I don't believe it's the worst there is far worst
Thanks kkrispy! You are very kind! It had turned a bit too cold by the time we reached the big wheel. Neither of us were up for it! We did film in the arcades with the 360 camera but a few Chatter Gang members told us the 360 footage triggers people with vertigo so we don't use it anymore 🩴🍦🤹 xxx
My kind of place, plenty of tat shops and bargain prices. What is not to like, not sure what the voters were looking at, if they even visited the same place as you did. Once again, thanks for you honest reviews 👍
Do you know, Eliot, there was nothing wrong with Skegness at all? It's a perfectly fine, typical northern seaside town. We wouldn't hesitate to go back there 😁🤹🌷
Just been approached to apply for an employment role as a Hub Coordinator, with a local LGBT organisation , buzzing , regular improved income I could visit skeggy and new friends in Leeds per chance X take care already looking forward to new Chatter guys videos

Haha, Colin realised what he said when he watched it back, he meant bucket and spades and the usual breach stuff you buy!

Thank you Peter! There's nothing wrong with Skegness. We had a smashing day there 🌞
Great video guys, perhaps if the transport from Leeds was better we could organise a group trip out here. Smashing editying 🎉
Skegness is well worth the trip, gents! 🍻🐟💡

Your very welcome and York, Scarborough, Llandudno, Flamborough and Berwick-upon-Tweed would be nice to see.
All good suggestions, thank you, Simon. We would have gone to Scarborough Pride but we're going to be in Benidorm 🌞🌞🌞

We did save you some 🍕 pizza but it's gone a bit child now, Nigel 😁🌈⛱️
The crazy golf and boating lake sound smashing
It looked really good, but we didn't have time to give either a go, Nigel xxx ⛳🏌️🩷
Some of my catch phrases include - " I can smile in every language " and " Go on one more " as in can we do just one more task today

I have been going to Skegness for over 40 years love the place. The pier was destroyed by a storm in the 70's.
Ey Oop, Alan! Thank you for your comment. We definitely would not hesitate to visit Skegness again 💯🤠🎊
It for the weather

I hate people that bash British seaside resorts, they obviously think they are a cut above!.. Keep up the good work fellas.. New subscriber ☺
We agree 💯 Col! 👍 Thanks for your comment and your subscription!! 🙏
DID NOT LOOK TOO BAD, I SUPPOSE ITS UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL TO MAKE IT TO SUIT THEMSELVES.
We really enjoyed our day in Skegness and you are right 👍 people make what they want of things! 🌊🦀⛵
They've got a Yorkshire Trading Company in Skipton....yes not really cheap.
They have a lot of stuff that you never knew you needed, Sandra. But then we just look online to see if we can get it anywhere else for less. 😊👛💶 xx

I do love a pizza with Mushrooms peppers and pineapple just lovely
So many people think it's wrong to put 🍍 pineapple in pizza 🍕. Tim loves an Hawaiian pizza 🍍🍍🍍
There are some super craft shops , not sure about skeggy

I take it a Chatter Gang SOA requires 4 stars or more? Are there any gay friendly places, pubs, hotels etc?
