We went in the new lodges for 2024. 4 weeks ago we had a great time the food was brilliant the staff had time for the kids and adults Never been before Haven't been on holiday for 25 years and took 3 grandchildren 3 adults could not ask for anything more loved it 🎉
Stayed back in the day 1976 !!!! The Funfair was massive and every ride was FREE, Mono Rail was just Amazing , this was when you had Holiday ads on TV as well.
We stayed in the Chalet a couple of years ago when we werent allowed to go abroad. It was terrible, filthy, could hear everything going on next door, terrible sleep.... Left after 2 nights. As a kid I used to be jealous of the those who stayed at butlins when we were in a caravan across the road at Ingoldmels. Turns out it was a blessing. I'd never stay there again.
Great to know you all enjoyed Butlins, the price you quoted was actually quite good for a whole week and I was surprised at how good value it was. Thanks to your video we may just hit that Butlins too later this year. Many thanks.
At least no passport or airport waits and delays needed! No long transfers between airport and hotel either! That's why many of us, especially those who have problems with travel sickness, take our holidays in England every year!
as I'm typing this, in 48 hours i will be returning to this absolute magical wonderland. i haven't been to Butlins since 2019, and I'm so excited to return.
Been a couple of times to Butlins Skegness, my main issue is the cleanliness of the place. It really does need money spending on it to bring it back to modern standards.
We went to a butlins camp in the 90s with family who had got kids, we were in 3 or 4 story flats, someone was playing music really loud, but they didn't answer the door, had kids so was unfair that the place didn't tell them off, felt like a prison camp, wished we hadn't gone, wished we were around in the 50s, when it probably was great
😮Sadly prices are now a joke.Go to Rhodes island,Greece for 10 days all inclusive for less.Even caravan rentals have become overpriced..Super video. This is a calculation for my circumstances.
We've stayed there many times, usually during term time which results in an absolute bargain price for the accommodation. It's worth paying for the premium food package as the dining area is a little more upmarket. I wouldn't let a few bits of flaky paint put you off staying there, the entertainments and activities more than make up for it. Unless you're an alcoholic, I don't think the unlimited drinks package is essential, you can always buy your own from the onsite supermarket. In short, it's a great budget holiday.
Thanks paul,I would have loved to have to have gone on the mono rail, thanks for watching and commenting, we have lot more coming up in the near future, kind regards Andy
A lot of Holiday camps are improving the camps section by section every year , the plus side is the free activities , food and accommodation is included in the all inclusive package , the insides of the accommodation is being improved ,last time I went to Butlins the accommodation was two bedrooms and a sitting room with a fitted pull out sofa next to the kitchen , open p!an sitting room and kitchen ,it was tiny for 6 people and that was in the 90's .
Hi , thanks for commenting, the inside of are apartment was good, they must get a bit of a bashing from the amount of people that use them ,but the exteriors are inexcusable for their current state, kind regards Andy
Thanks video Gavin strachan Hastings east Sussex used to go to Warner's holiday camp Isle sheppy in 1970s i enjoyed the holiday camp when i was 12 happy memories with my mum dad thanks once again 😊
I went in May half term and my kids really enjoyed it as did i. The only downside is the pool is still not fully open so subject the booking on the plus side though they offer free skating and circus
We always stay in the seaside apartments . Think theyre the most expensive, but we've always been lucky with the cleanlness and if you book one with a ramp theyre suitable for wheelchair users. A lot of the site is run down, but there was painting and renovation started recently on the scruffiest apartments. That was a really fair, balanced viewpoint though in the vlog. And, as you say, still not a bad price for whats included, specially if you have young children.
Thank you so much for watching Janet.yep despite the condition we would return as the kids loved it,its just a shame as its the first thing you see when you get out of the car, kind regards Andy
Hi Andy, thanks for your kind comment. I did try to show the good and the bad to give an overall picture of what it's like to stay there. If you have children they will love it as there is so much to do,you just have to look past the grime, kind regards Andy
i used to go to butlins in pwhelli wales with my parents a lot in the 80,s. the problem these days as i am sure others have mentioned is the price, you can have a weeks holiday in most places in europe for the same money as a week at butlins in the uk. its a bit of a no brainer really, why whould you holiday in the uk and not be sure of decent weather. mind you 550 isnt bad for 3 adults and 2 kids.
I completely agree with you,as an alternative we are in the Netherlands next week and showing an alternative beach holiday. If you have the time ,it may surprise you, kind regards Andy
I went in 1972 plenty of young people got a bit scary at night gangs of yobs roaming looking for trouble plenty of spare they changed it after made it much more family friendly happy memories
Can I just add I’m a regular to Butlin’s and plans are in place to replace the skyline tent and expand it over the pool entrance etc. it’s a 2yr project but is in the pipeline and also for the other two sites
Have not been here since mid 90's. I can hardly recognise the place. Like you say great for those with young children/family short break. You can always leave the park and trek into Skegness itself. Might consider revisit now were grandparents!
Hi,thanks for your comment. Actually most people seem to overlook the condition of the place . Everyone we talked seem to have fun,I think as long as the kids are entertained, the parents we happy, kind regards Andy
Just come back from here last week, stayed in a gold apartment. Entertainment, swimming and fair was very good, food was not bad at all really, the only downside was the accomodation, very outdated and looks terrible, but what do you want for £300 a week?
Hi,thanks for watching and commenting. I think price is an important factor as you've said.i think that if you've got it at a fair price then you can overlook it's imperfections, kind regards Andy
I went at the height of the season in 2018 ..6 adults ...full breakfast and evening meals ..all passes ....price was 3 thousand 400 ....nowhere near the price you have shown ..but I guess you didn't have the passes and gold apartment. Or the full dining experiance ...the food alone for 6 adults was well over 1000 ..cant remember exact price
Last time I went to Butlins was early 2000s a lot has changed since then and I used to enjoy it. I wouldn't be interested in going back to Butlins and where I live is practically like Butlins as Wembley has it all from relaxation (Neasden Hindu temple) to enjoying live free performances or watching the football just outside Wembley stadium with everything in-between. If one wonders what it would be like living in Butlins just move to Wembley you will surely see.
Dreadful place I live just round the corner from it. The noise at night with the council estate drunkards coming in from a night out on the town. What people see in this place I don’t know look at the so-called fair, all good travelling funfairs got rid of those rides 50 years ago, and this place is still using them should be closed down and rebuilt. Poor man’s holiday with Poor entertainment et cetera definitely for the council estate yobs.
Lot of snobbery people who couldn’t have a good time if they tried we took the grand kids they loved it . Food great staff friendly more staff behind the bar would be good but that’s the same everywhere . You could paint the place every year and it stilll would look like it needs a paint due to the corrosive salt in the air.
Hi ,thanks for your comment. There was access as far as the beach for wheelchairs but I'm not a 100% sure if there was access onto the sand, hope this helps, kind regards Andy
Nothing wrong woth butlins. People moaning its run down ect. As long as my kids are having a good time. The rooms i habe syayed in have bewn clean and tidy and the food has always been good. Typical british seaside holiday. Embrace and enjoy it.

@affordableholidays definitely is, it's hard to find places and deals that are value but also reasonable quality. Hi,thanks for your comment. The prices at Butlins for drinks is not cheap as is the case for most holiday parks. The cost of most drinks especially a 25ml shot plus a mixer is around £6.00 ,hence if you have more than 4 drinks in a day, then it offers good value, kind regards Andy
I went to butlins for 24 yrs. Not as good as it was. Gone down hill. Accommodation looks very scruffy.skyline does too. My kids are older now 22 and 19 not as fun i miss those days when they were younger. Last time we were there my son who was 16yrs time got threatened by a gang of lads. One time i could let them walk around by them selves in butlins. Since they opened up to 9.50 holidays it's gone really down hill. Transportation is dire to skegness. If you have no car. . Entertainment complex was bursting at seams now built more caravans its going to get worse.
