      Its crucial imho that keepers are open and honest about their mistakes or what they think they could improve so others can learn from them.

    I'd recommend putting something to cover the floor like a cut up piece of plastic or something. I feel after time it will stain the floor pretty harshly. Looks dope though

    I think adding more branches would make it an even better enclosure and adding more plants gradually overtime. Great enclosure though, and a really cool idea.

      Don't forget drip trays for the plants, and you have to add extra coats of sealer to your grout, the tile will be ok but grout is porous without the extra sealer.

    You should put a branch on the back wall above the door around 8ft, cover it in fake vines, and connect it to the chameleon home using a length of rope, so if he feels like really getting out the way, he can go up there to hide.

    Do you really think placing Felix in the middle of the Dark Den will be a good idea? I mean out of my experience chameleons kinda need and want privacy, meaning they usually dont like being out in the open and being easily spottable by anyone. Suggestion from a previous Swedish Electricians, aka EU. It is a good rule of thumb to place your earth wire in-between Neutral and Phase. Just as a layer of safety, if anything happens. Your RCD, at least I hope your building has it. Will smack off. Alternatively, you can buy one for a socket, that has lower tolerance. 10mA instead of 30mA. It basically detects if the current takes another way, than it should. The next thing is, that LED 'panel' is of metal, aye? You might want to earth that. Just in case it for what ever reason gets current. Nobody can touch it and get a jolt.
    Switching current can ruin nerves, so it is not really just a 'harmless jolt'. It might not appear till 30-40 years later when the body degenerate. Anyhow, that is just my words on the topic. Bit of nitpicky, but Swedish Electrical practice is quite nitpicky in general.

    • @romchek41
      @romchek41 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I guess you never heard about russian electric practic, you need just roll all the wires together, cover one of it with isolation tape and other one can stay without it, you good. Earth wire? What is it? (just kidding from russian electrician xd)

      I think the enclosure should have another ''tree'', and at least a couple horizontal perches. Right now the Chameleon, a big Chameleon, just has three lanes to go up and down with little cover and little horizontal compared to the previous enclosure.

    • @TomMattin
      @TomMattin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In UK it’s strict too. I’m an electrician also. Although the fixture should be earthed, you may find because of the transformer that manufactures instructions state it’s class 2 double insulated and shouldn’t be earthed. But, exposed connector blocks aren’t allowed and single insulated exposed outside of fitting is also shit and not allowed here. I hate watching other people do electrical work thinking it’s easy and “it works!” . Yeah it may work but it’s not safe.

    Love everything about this enclosure but I cant help but wonder how loose feeding/ hunting would work.. do the crickets just run off or is there a way to get them to stay?

    What a great idea. I never knew you could keep chameleons open air like that. You should find some big rocks and put them at the base of the plants to hide the pots a little. Keeping them in the pots is a good move, tho.

    This might not be for everyone, but I actually really enjoy watching you build things. I am guilty for not knowing the electrical wires and stuff, so you taught me something there! THANK YOU! I am one of those DIY people who just finds enjoyment watching people build things and talking about it through the process. So I hope you don't feel bad if that's all you are doing! Its ok! Thank you for going with the process! It was also really nice to see Mica again!

    HEY, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN! Sorry I hoped my capital letters would catch your attention. Listen I'm a little annoyed, for what seems like an age, maybe over a year, and even though I've remained a subscriber since the days of your "sofa" and "shelves" I've not had notification of your uploads for such a long time that I wondered what had happened. I'm just so happy to watch you and the Dark Den again. Congratulations on your engagement. And BOOO HISSS TO YOU TUBE for letting me down. Xx

    I am new to your channel, I highly enjoy your video, your hilarious and awesome to watch. XD Your like a professor teacher that I never have. ( Since you try to teach us on wires and stuff. I find that neat!) Also I am sad that you didn't show the enclosure process, but I understand why. Still was an awesome video, Felix is a gorgeous chameleon, your lucky to have him , seriously~! ♥ I love his personality. xD Anyway I subbed! Keep it up. c:

    Darko i do have a concern about you set up for felix.... How are you going to maintain humidity ? Panther Chameleons require a humidity range of 60-80% :/

    Alright my advise would be to add way more plants. Your tank looks gorgeous but it lacks vegetation, you should put some crawling ivy and another big (huge) plant on the front side of the tank where there's no plant. Your chameleon will feel way more comfortable in such a jungle. Plus, I don't know how you really consider the required humidity for the tank is left in open air... Is the humidity level high in your room such as it is in Madagascar? (80/70% all year long). I hope you will read this comment, looking forward for the final result!

    Hello dan. This is no mold . Its Kind of a beneficial fungus or better called different kinds of beneficial fungus so called Mycorrhiza. Its very Good for the enclosure. Check it on Wikipedia

    Thank you so much for your tutorials. My Albopelmaism bolted out of his enclosure, thanks to you I didnt panic, I got a Catch cup and put him back in, thank you so much. He is a mature male and fell backwards trying to pounce on a cricket, So I thought he was weak. But still has energy. Can't thank you enough.

    I really like what you did there. But i think it would look much better if you find something to hide the plastic of the plants on the ground

    Pond paint.... pond armor is one that's popular here across the pond in the U.S., but there are also alternatives like acrylic, silicone & rubber cement that can provide a good water proof shielding for your particle board (don't forget to coat any holes made in the board(s)).
    I love seeing DIY projects.

    Project is nice but definitely needed more vegetation on upper part. Felix can't feel hidden and comfortable up there yet.
    Congrats on your passion and love for your pets, man. Regards from Spain.
