    This was the battle that Anakin realized that sometimes wars are not a simple affair that one will believe in them to be. The Clone Wars was a conflict that pushed the Jedi Order to its limits with its morals, this was a Jedi Order that had a thousand years of peace, and they were not prepared for a war of this scale.

      The Loyalists were still outnumbered. No matter what weapons and supplies you left they most likely would’ve lost anyway.
      It seems to me that by abandoning those weapons and supplies the CIS could capture them when they’d inevitably clear them out. They could then use them against the Republic by arming more anti-Republic movements.
      Plus; If they did arm the Loyalists and then informed them they were leaving, what if they chose to attempt to forcefully take the transport ships? Now you’re facing an even greater risk in a moment of great emotions.

    It seems like every few months we talk about or mention Jabiim. I mean I'm not complaining it's a great battle. And the fact that TCW didn't try to do their own version of it like they did with the Battle of Kamino, is one of the few issues I have with that great series.
    Also, I think this was a critical point in Anakin's life, but not for the reasons you said. You see, a few days ago another Star Wars TH-camr, The Studious Wave, who is not as good as you Geetsly(lol), posted a video on how the Battle of Jabiim was still affecting Anakin as far as the Battle of Coruscant, as mentioned in the Novelization of Episode 3. It basically said that Anakin still felt sorrow and guilt over not just what he had done to the Loyalists, but also over the death of all his friends at the battle, and eventually, with some goating from Palpatine during his battle with Dooku in Episode 3, he let all that fear and sorrow turn into anger, specifically at Dooku the leader of the Separatist who is basically responsible for all the horrible things of the war, and well we all know what happened next in that fight.
    So I personally believe, while these kinds of things would lay the groundwork for the more ruthless tactics of Vader, what happened at Jabiim, and all the other horrible things Anakin witness during the war, all the death, and destructions, the Zygeria slavers, Ahsoka leaving, all of it more likely just made him sad and angry, sometimes at himself (another major part of Vader's characters), and Palpatine would later use all that anger to manipulate and turn Anakin into the monstrous shell of his former self known as Vader.

I t was a hard chaoice and, at the end of the day, the loyalists were real citysens on jabim and could talk themselves in beeing forced by the jedi (whom they would hate by now). The clones, on the other hand would be POWs. For the jabimi, that wasn't that likely meaning that, tho a right choice didn't exsist here, Anakin had a pont in leaving the Loyalists behind.

    Anakin was right . The Clones had just as right to live as the loyalist maybe even more so . The Loyalist chose to fight the war and when you chose to fight you are subject to the consequences. Also it seems to me that the Nationalist had the will of the people the Loyalist literally went against their planets interest and brought death and destruction( Also they may have interfered in the election ) . The Clones were bread to fight a war and had very little choice in the matter . Anakin saving them was a show of loyalty to his troops .

    Anakin made the right choice, those clones are men too. And the loyalists aren't innocent. They are fighters too, in such case every good leader from Caesar to Napoleon or Rommel. They would have chosen to save their own men. The ones that were his duty to protect.

  • @myshadowrealm4u
    @myshadowrealm4u 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    well the Clones were innocents too, so whomever anakin would have chosen to leave behind, it would still have been sacrificing innocents. Kinda glad he chose the clones though. The Clones were essentially slaves to the republic and they didn't choose their life. The loyalists, however, did chose their own paths and at the very least, may have stood a better chance surviving considering that they had the home turf and knew the terrain. The Clones would not have had that advantage if they had been abandoned. No right choice in this case. Both choices were awful.

  • @stallioncuts5454
    @stallioncuts5454 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    He did not choose victory over innocent lives he simply looked at the scenario and acted with logic and compassion. Those men had been through a living hell and lost thousands whereas the Jedi lost a couple dozen over a planet that they should've never been on to make profit of an abundance of natural recourse. Sound familiar at all? Anyways those men were not only Anakin's battle buddies but had no say in the war they were thrust into. To choose the lives of people who you already lost so much to try and help over the men you went into that situation fighting with would be morally atrocious unless that is you took the position that clones weren't people which Anakin certainly did not take that position. He has been shown countless times to care deeply about the lives of his men and I believe he made the right choice.

    I believe we cannot really blame Anakin.
    With all the respect of civilian lives, saving Clone Troopers is crucial to Republic war efforts. You can save the loyalists, but they will not be as good in combat as the Troopers.
    Anyway....the morale of this story is...
    War is cruel, unfair, and can harden, or destroy you in all the senses.
    Yet, like some people below, to try to mitigate the situation, I would try to calm the hate by leaving the loyalist with the most resources possible so they can continue fighting at least in guerrilla warfare style, until the Republic recovers and completes it's wartime industrialization phase (which was what enabled them to tide the war in their favour later and perform the Outer Rim Sieges), so they can come back and restart the fighting.

    The right decision is the civilians and resistance, as the rest are soldiers. Just as Anakin. Their duty is to stand and fight. Anakin choose the clones, because they were his family. He did this many times. Choosing the clones above others or doing risky missions just to save clones.
    Sorrowfully even in real life, there is a $ price tag $ above everyone's head. The order is usually to recover the expensive assets, military vehicles, and than the infantry. 1 trained soldiers equipment is worth more than a resistance member, or foreign agent.

    The best choice is to ask both loyalists and clones for volunteers to stay behind while everyone else escapes. To ask them to stay behind willingly so that others can fight another day. It's still not a very good choice, as he might not get enough volunteers, but it's better to give a group the choice to sacrifice themselves than to make the choice for them. Since I think that the clones are actual people and not just desposable junk like for example an army of battledroids, Anakin as a commander has a responsability to his men as well. Its a hard choice for some but I would make the same choice given the same situation.
    On a moral approach I have a responability to my men as their commader and if you wonna look at it from a tactical approach (and not from a strategic POV sonce it fucks the diplomatic relations between Jabiim and the republic, potentially losing them valuble resourses as you mentioned..) it makes more sence to save the clones as well since they are objectivly better as a fighting force than the loyalists and it would give you the most potential for new tactical options and an opportunity to continue some kind of operation depending on how things evolve.
