After months of following you I finally took yhe plunge and got a Bambu Lab X1-Carbon Combo 3D Printer. The ED 209 is my first goal! Thank you very much!
Hey David that's awesome! I've heard that's a mighty fine printer and should get you going in the right direction with the hobby. My advice to you is just enjoy every part of the journey the ups and the downs. If you need anything always feel free to holler. I'm excited for you!
After seeing this video I printed some of your squares and bought some snap buttons. It has really helped me in my project. I like that I can glue the squares, and if they have trouble sticking I can weld them onto the piece. Thanks for the great ideas!
No problem I'm glad it worked out for yah and gives you some options. I just wore my recent Robocop Suit and only had one square fail out of the 18 I put on but it was completely my fault because I pulled a strap way too hard for adjustment, if I didn't make that mistake none of the squares would have failed. They work pretty good.
It looks like we are right around the same spot in our builds my next vid for iron man is the harness 😂 love the snaps idea though for the calf and forearm. Need to get that stl for the snap holder from you
How much fun are you having with the Iron Man Suit? You plan on wearing it to any cons? I will definitely get the file uploaded for you for the plate soon. I'll add it to the description on here. I should have done that initially. I appreciate your comment man!
@@ChrisBoshProps hoping to do awesome con mid june but may be wearing a primer suit 😂 I'm not gonna rush just to take it to the con. it'll be fully wearable and primered at least by June 😂
@@SaturdayMorningProps Hey atleast you got a plan my man! That's more then a lot of people can say 🙂, I'm sure your still going to be turning some heads when you wear it. I went ahead and uploaded that plate stl for you let me know how it works out for you! Please do some footage of you sporting the suit out at your Con, would absolutely love to see you in action. 🥊
The snaps work great! I printed and used the pla squares after seeing one of your previous videos and your attachment method is solid. Low cost and effective. For fun I'm going to attempt a rudimentary aluminum bracket for the legs. I'll let you know if it works out.
That's awesome it worked for yah! I'd love to see your hinge system when done. I'm curious how well it will work in practice or if my fears and expectations from it are unrealistic. I'm very interested to see, keep me updated with it.
Do you only use standard pla on your printed plates as i tried this on my stormtrooper suite a while ago and some of them broke when i hammered the snaps or didnt stick to the inside as they were too rigid for the curves of the inside of the suit, have you had any of this trouble ? Cheers keep up the great work
I've never had an issue with the plates breaking. I use Sunlu PLA plus. I've had plates detach after hot gluing but that was only because I didn't clean the overspray on the inside with laquer thinner. Once I cleaned the areas before hot gluing, I've worn the suit multiple times for several hours and never had an issue. That's the only problem I've ever had. Sounds like you might be using weak filament. Go with Esun PLA plus or Sunlu PLA plus. You'll have to find the sweet spot for gluing but the squares work perfect for me.

I use the same setup for my Stormtrooper suit
Can't beat the snaps man! They work great.
This is a very cool idea. I'm currently making a Robocop suit, wish I had come across your channel sooner

Hi, whats the size of the buttons you use?
How’s Topgun Talwar doing?
Haven't seen him in years but I've heard he's doing really good.
@@ChrisBoshProps Awesome to hear! Thanks for the reply. I'm a huge fan of yours.
