A product called "grubby putty" by mouse head! I use it all the time and I buy it in waitrose out of all places😂. It's a fantastic product, super adorable and smells amazing. I don't think it would work for a quiff but I use it for a relaxed fringe look or a pomp. It's a matte finish and is soooo easy to apply! Please try it robin, I want to see how you would use it and I'm very sure it's paraben free 😊😊
Love your videos and reviews. You've saved me so much time and money by not having to trial and error these products myself. Take care and have a great 2018.
Barely got into a minute of this review before subscribing. You break things down in so much better granular detail than most. Like seriously, I don't care in general if the company or product has good "vibes" or what-have-you, it's about the analytical specs and performance. Great review and I'll be checking out all of the rest of your stuff.
So I've watched about a dozen of your videos now (all within the last two hours lol) and I must say I love the structure of your videos! You have such a clean look to all of them and it shows me how much time and effort you put into your craft. Congrats, you've got yourself a new subscriber :) much love from Chicago! Looking forward to your videos!
Its amazing Robin! You are so ambitious and even produces videos for us while ur not even home ... We all greatly appreciate your work! Nice video gave me a good look on the product! Keep on that good work. Greetings from Germany btw!
+Robin James we all appreciate your work! Any idea on how to do a quiff if my hair grows backwards? Because all of my quiffs look really slicked back 😶🤐
Why do hair products like to include a scent into it. I absolutely hate it, because most of them are strong and or unpleasant. Then you have people around you asking what that smell is
My honest review: buy claymation instead, the hold is dissapointing on this one. Claymation has a great hold. This is like hold factor 3 claymation a 4 out of 5.
A Rijkse I agree with you, I blind bought it and just tried it out today. I agree the hold is disappointing. I have claymation, sponge wax, and this. I will say the hold with this is better than sponge wax but it's not as what everyone hypes it to be. Claymation for me having very thick and straight hair is the best hair product I've ever used and way better than gravity paste for me
Alex Jones I agree! I didn’t care for quicksand but it actually worked great on the 2nd day! So far I like claymation and I’m about to try more of their products soon :)
what's the shine like? it says it is med shine. I currently have Claymation, but my hair is too dry so doesn't look very good at all. I need a product which has a good shine, so I was thinking of swapping for this.
hey Robin, do you know what kind of products that can easily to be re-arranged? I mean, I usually riding a bike and of course I wear helmet, all the hairstyle that I've done just turns out to be flat in a second! so maybe you could help me, many thanks...
Hey Okie, always wear a helmet. Hair is far less important than your safety. 👌🏼 Try something rework able like a wax or traditional pomade. Also, as it's wax based it will work better with any sweat and shouldn't come out... unless you're having a shower on arrival.
Hi Robin a bit unrelated but I'm having real trouble finding pomade, can't find it in supermarkets and boots, superdrug only have black and white. Any reason for this?
Robin, you mentioned you're not a fan of many of the Hanz De Fuko products, what would you rate as your favourite equivalent of the Scheme Cream and Pomades? I currently use American Crew Pomade and Redken Moveability, but was thinking of trying some new products... btw.. my picture is NOT my current haircut! LOL.. haha.. I think I better change my avatar pic
Robin I've seen reviewers love, hate this product but I really trust your opinion because your so honest so I'm willing to try this because of you 👌🏽don't forget keep posting on SC!
Robin , would you continue using Claymation or change to Gravity Paste ? If i want a messy hairstyle , which product should i choose? .including Quicksand
I definitely wouldn't go with quicksand for a messy hairstyle, it's not reworkable at all and leaves your hair quite dry and gritty (due to the quicksand). If you go for a blind buy you should get claymation, it's one of the few reliable products. (I haven't used gravity paste though).
+Mw2ManDeMz thanks. you just enlighten me more , i thought quicksand was for messy hairstyle bc other reviews were saying its for beachy hairstyle and all
No problem. You're right it does give a beachy feel, but a sea salt spray would probably be better for that style. Hanz de fuko do sell a sample sized pack of a few of their products if you do want to test them out
Guys I'm wondering something. When Robin was styling his hair, does he style his quiff into the opposite direction to what it grows? If so, when using a blow dryer to create volume with damp hair, do you also blow your hair into the opposite direction that it grows? Thanks :)
I agree 100 percent with your review Robin! As you know... I am currently using both products and I have to say that Claymation is my favorite 👍🏻 Thanks Robin for an honest review. Cheers🍸
I wouldn’t recommend…cuz the toothpaste was attracting the ants we previously had and I woke up with ants in my hair …it wasn’t all of them cuz the main ants were still in line as there were only bout 20-30 ants on my bed and about five in my hair ..try something else than Colgate maybe Rembrandt would be nice
I'd say gravity paste even tho I haven't tried it yet but I've used quicksand for the longest time and it doesn't really give good hold what it gives is volume and texture
When you say it's hard to apply to your hair, is it as hard to apply like Original by blumaan? I have a lot of hair and it's thin. With Original i can't apply it at all. No matter what I do it doesn't work with my hair. Would you say gravity paste is the same way?
Hi Robin, I'm new to hair styling and your channel is a fabulous resource for someone like me! In your review of Hanz de Fuko Claymation, you describe it as a good general-purpose product for trying out different kinds of hair styles. In this video, you say the Gravity Paste is superior in several ways. If I'm looking for a general purpose product (I'm not 100% set on the hair style I want yet), which of these two would be the better choice? Thanks!
Hi Robin. Great review as always! Question. Which one of the Hanz De Fuko products would you recommend for guys with fine hair like mine? Length of about 10 centimeters at the top and short sides just like yours in this video. I find that you see my scalp a lot if i use some wax types or gel. :(
when i brush my hair back and to the side you can see my scalp...what do i do, i feel like i am gonna have a mental breakdown, my hair was never like this before...
+Robin James hey bro thanks for replying, not many mens fashion TH-camrs reply at all. at the moment apart from shampoo and conditioner I am using nothing else
amazing review robin as always, in this video you compared gravity paste and claymation, how about comparing this one against sponge wax cause i think they both seem similiar in term of hold???? thanks robin i'm just curious about gravity paste and sponge wax
Robin, Great review and has been waiting for your review on this product. I have also tried it as pre-styler since it has the good consistency, apply a tiny bit into the damn hair and blow dry it. Then I will add just a little bit of Claymation to finish up the style, you will find wonders as it boost up volume as a pre-styler and this product is light and great hold! Cheers.... and enjoy your holiday...
Hey Robin, there's been word out there that the product is actually really similar to original by blumaan in terms of well.. Almost everything. The consistency, the performance of the product in your hair etc. Some even say that the base ingredient list is almost identical. (Same lab? Idk) Most of us don't own both products so that's a little hard to rectify.. What's your take!
Hey Nicholas, it smells similar and it's similar in consistency. Hanz De Fuko do, however, say this is better in dry hair and to rub the product into hands before applying. OBM say (the message I received) not to rub it in. Following the instructions of the brands, GP works far better for me. Also, I prefer the finish. I'm sure it will work differently for everyone.
+Robin James cool, cheers for the heads up! Received a sample for the gravity paste but haven't gotten round to trying it, hopefully it'd work better than OBM did!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Morris Motley treatment styling balm. I've been using it for close to 8 months now and it's better then anything else I've ever used.
Hey I just stumbled on your channel today and I really like it! I'm wondering if you have ever tried Kevin Murphy Rough Rider? If so which would you recommend for really thick and wavy hair? Claymation or Rough Rider?
If I'm not mistaken he's mentioned how much he likes it in one of his previous videos. Maybe it's not this guy, but another... But I'm pretty sure the first time I heard about that product was from one of Robin's videos.
I love Kevin Murphy products. One of my favourite brands. The two products are, however, very different. Rough Rider has less of a hold. I really do love Claymation.
Hey Robin. I'm looking for a matte product with a fairly high hold. I'm going for a casual style with a little bit of height. Other than Claymation and Gravity Paste, what would you recommend?
I am currently growing out my hair, but before I started doing that I used Star Wax Clay. It doesn't have a huge hold, but it was able to give my hair volume, texture, and out of my face.
I find clays to work really well for my thick hair. Claymation is awesome if you are willing to shell out twenty dollars. Same for Baxter of California. It's also twenty dollars. Another one I've heard about but not tried is Daimon Barber No 4. It's a little bit cheaper I believe.
Kyle Eger do you have to apply it on a damped or dry hair? and how much do you use it? sorry for asking too many because i've only used pomades before lol.
+ItsBigDre And how much you use depends on how much hair you have. Mine is about 6 inches long and I use a nickel sized amount. You will just have to experiment.
It is pretty good, however I am not robin but I do know that quicksand is good for thick and thin hair so I think you should get quicksand if you are looking for a high hold and dry finish. It does say high hold but I think it has a good hold. You also also think about gravity paste. It has a medium hold and shiny finish though but it also works well.
I thought it was time to review this one for you guys.
What product would you like to see next?

any of the uppercut deluxe products

One of the things i like about this guy is that he gives honest reviews. Refreshing

Hair looks superb robin! Keep up the good work! :)
What is the type of music combining modern and piano in the background of the video?
Hair cut and style here is amazing! Unlike your hair in other videos where your sides are long.
💙I was waiting for this! Love your vids!
Cheers Gavin 💙
OMG! I love your hair in this video 💙
Thanks Charlie 💙
Think im gonna buy it, thank you so much for your review👌😊

good review robin !!! thanks from Newyork

Can you do an updated video of your hairstyle in this video?
Hi .... which is your favourite daily use hair products

Your hair looks epic in this video! Details of this cut, length on sides and top?
I really like the setting for this video !
Will this one hold after dancing the night away?
what's the shine like? it says it is med shine. I currently have Claymation, but my hair is too dry so doesn't look very good at all. I need a product which has a good shine, so I was thinking of swapping for this.

Ur hair looks really good in this video in growing my fringe out to get a better quiff a bit like urs in this videos any tips?
Did you ever try Scheme Cream? I wondered, as you tried all the other Hanz De Fuko products, but not that one?
Great video Robin!!! I'd love to see you review the rest of Hanz De Fuko's line!!
Hey mate, I've done a few in the past. These two are definitely my favourites.
+Robin James Thanks so much for the reply! Have you tried Scheme Cream yet? If so, what are your thoughts?
Great review!

Hi Robin a bit unrelated but I'm having real trouble finding pomade, can't find it in supermarkets and boots, superdrug only have black and white. Any reason for this?
Hey - oh, I'm not too sure. Can you buy it online?
+Robin James yeah I can do - just seems weird that places aren't selling it now

What hair products did you use in this video and where did u get it/ price ?
Wow Robin, didn't know your eyes were so blue! Great review as always.
They certainly are and had to stand right in the window to get light for this review
how do you determine what type of hair do you have, like thin or thick?
I think you should try and do one hair product review a week. I honestly think they are your best videos :)
For my hair it has a very loose high hold after a few hrs. Like it gets tacky a first but later softens and makes my hair messy and thinning 💀
You are Rockin that leather jacket
Thanks man. 🙌🏼
You're Welcome
Hi Robin should i get quicksand or gravity paste for a messy quiff
mustaqiim Obviously im not Robin but I would go with quicksand
depends on your hair type, i'd go with sponge wax

yes I think he does it to the opposite side
+Sam Crowder Thank you :)
Good spot! I didn't actually style it in the opposite way. I styled it the way it grows this time.
Robin James Ah right, thanks Robin!
I agree 100 percent with your review Robin! As you know... I am currently using both products and I have to say that Claymation is my favorite 👍🏻
Thanks Robin for an honest review.
Cheers🍸
What about quicksand? Ever tried that product?
Absolutely. Claymation is one of my favourites. Really great!
Heavymade is the one for me
lovely video. keep up the great work 😊❤
Thanks Vincent
Great review. I might try the Claymation. Btw, I miss the "..very well indeed" part in your latest videos.
Hey Georg, yeh, give it a go. I don't think I'll be saying they anymore. Sorry, it's just not really me. 🙌🏼👌🏼
Robin James I'll do. I see I see, just noticed it recently - The new beginning is good as well, of course :)
suprise its toothpaste
Makes sense now.
Hey robin! What are some cheaper products that will give the same look. Love the hair
wich has a better hold gravity paste or quicksand for thick straight hair?
I'd say gravity paste even tho I haven't tried it yet but I've used quicksand for the longest time and it doesn't really give good hold what it gives is volume and texture
When you say it's hard to apply to your hair, is it as hard to apply like Original by blumaan? I have a lot of hair and it's thin. With Original i can't apply it at all. No matter what I do it doesn't work with my hair. Would you say gravity paste is the same way?
Hey - it was quite tough to apply but it really did work. I liked it. 🙌🏼
What brand is that leather jacket?
What good for a messy slick back or pompadour. Gravity paste or claymation?
Hey Kevin, I'd probably use more like a pomade for a pomp. But for a slick back, you could use Claymation. 🙌🏼
+Robin James Thanks!
"... gonna let my quiff down" that's really a great quote-ish I guess
Ha ha. It's so true.
Robin ... Just a quick question, have you used quick sand and if so is it worth buying?
He has a review on it.
Quicksand is good for dry messy hair cause it boost volume and doesnt have shine
is it easy to washh??? claymation
Great video 🙏🏼
Great review! 😁 Could you also do a similar review on Kevin Murphy night rider?
Hi Robin,
I'm new to hair styling and your channel is a fabulous resource for someone like me!
Thanks!
Yuri Mataev
any subtitute to this product?
is there a thing as a matte finish hair spray? i want hold but i want a natural look too :(
You can, yes. The one I normally use (Wella Silvikrin Classic) doesn't have shine.
Hi Robin. Great review as always!
Question. Which one of the Hanz De Fuko products would you recommend for guys with fine hair like mine?
Length of about 10 centimeters at the top and short sides just like yours in this video.
I find that you see my scalp a lot if i use some wax types or gel. :(
Great review! Have fun at sweden!✌🏻
So what would you use as a pre styler when working with the this product
I used Aveda Thickening tonic.
please do a video on organic hair products
Great idea for a video!
+Robin James thanks
better gravity paste or sponge wax?
when i brush my hair back and to the side you can see my scalp...what do i do, i feel like i am gonna have a mental breakdown, my hair was never like this before...
What product are you using?
+Robin James hey bro thanks for replying, not many mens fashion TH-camrs reply at all.
at the moment apart from shampoo and conditioner I am using nothing else
Could your hair be thinning? Have you tried any treatments?
+Robin James no i havent tried any other treatments
and yes my hair has gotten thinner than it was before....
goldensilverstar you are losing your hair bro
amazing review robin as always, in this video you compared gravity paste and claymation, how about comparing this one against sponge wax cause i think they both seem similiar in term of hold???? thanks robin i'm just curious about gravity paste and sponge wax
ROBIN JAMES ur channel is awesome...it always gives me the hairstyle I wanna do...keep it up!!👌👌👌👌
Thanks so much, Zulakar.
Hey Ling, glad it works for you as a pre-styler. It really didn't for me. I like it just to finish.
Back in UK now. Great time away.
what is the hair oil u use
Hii Robin, what is your favorite hair clay if you dont mind me asking :)
Received a sample for the gravity paste but haven't gotten round to trying it, hopefully it'd work better than OBM did!
hi roben i used before gravity paste the sample on damp hair it was unbelievable hold like no other product
Good one! It really wasn't great in my damp hair.
Would you be able to use this as a pre-styler? it came with my HDF quicksand order so just wondering.
Hey Brandon, spoke about this in the video and said I wouldn't. 👌🏼
+Robin James Oh crap mustve missed it; thanks though!
what product you got on your hair on this vídeo? looks great
A I'm assuming he has Gravity Paste on since he is reviewing it.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Morris Motley treatment styling balm. I've been using it for close to 8 months now and it's better then anything else I've ever used.
Definitely. Still to try Morris Motley.
I think you'll like it. Everything about the Balm is terrific, smell, texture, application. Hope you do a video on it.
It was me!
I love Kevin Murphy products. One of my favourite brands.
The two products are, however, very different. Rough Rider has less of a hold. I really do love Claymation.
Hey Robin. I'm looking for a matte product with a fairly high hold. I'm going for a casual style with a little bit of height. Other than Claymation and Gravity Paste, what would you recommend?
quicksand is fantastic, its quite a bit like sand tho. You might love it or you might hate it. Great for thin and fine hair!
+Simon Rockstream Yeah... I have extremely thick hair.
I am currently growing out my hair, but before I started doing that I used Star Wax Clay. It doesn't have a huge hold, but it was able to give my hair volume, texture, and out of my face.
+Connor Rice Thanks! I'll check it out.
How about Label M's Deconstructor or Fish Clay?
I've never used a clay or wax before, any suggestions for what should i buy? I have a thick hair and planning to buy the black label.
+ItsBigDre You can do both, but I prefer to apply to slightly damp hair, just because it's easier to work in.
+ItsBigDre And how much you use depends on how much hair you have. Mine is about 6 inches long and I use a nickel sized amount. You will just have to experiment.
+Kyle Eger thanks bro, i'll give it a try.
You looks like Norman Osborn :P
Hi Robin! How are you my friend? Great review, can you do some videos about healthy lifestyle and your workouts routine.
Hey Babak. I'm good thanks, how are you? I really do want to do some. Totally on the list but not sure when I'll be doing them.
Hi Robin ! Can you make a rewiew about gold digger or dynamite clay?
Hey - still to try them both but will
awesome all honest reviews
Thank you.
hey robin. can u review Gatsby moving rubber grunge matt please
Still to try Gatsby
try By vilain sidekick pre styling spray, it's fine hair saviour. you will like it.
would you suggest Claymation for thin hair?
It's does ok, use a thicking tonic and a Great putty and that would be your best bet, but yes claymation is kinda good for thin hair
