  • Have you traveled by ferry before? If you travel to the Philippines chances are you will experience one or more trips by ferry between the many islands as you explore and discover many of the wonderful islands in the Philippines. There are many options for types of ferries depending on the region you are in and your requirements. Larger ferries like 2Go and Cokaliong offer cabins and large sleeping areas. Economy, Tourist, and Business Class are available on many ferries. Air-Conditioned or open air are also options. The costs to travel by ferry are quite reasonable in the Philippines.

    Thx Rod.
I think it would be fun to load a Scooter on a Ro-Ro, and explore some of the islands that they travel to.

I think you covered everything Rod, LoL. As we all know, one should have their wits about them when visiting or even when residing there because no matter how much the locals portray great friendship towards foreigner strangers,( 'Hello my friend".) no one does anything for nothing, it's all about money, your money. We traveled back to Cebu from Bohol, one time, on the midnight sailing and had quite a decent sleep on the bunks in one of those big ferries. Lina told off a couple of crew smoking near us, considering there were signs everywhere banning smoking, LoL. Take care brother. My birthday tomorrow. 48. (LoL)

2Go have just started direct sailings from Manila to Davao and vice versa. 3D 2N, cost depends on your accommodation but prices seem reasonable. You can also take 50kg luggage. Thinking of trying this later in the year.

You need to go to the municipal/city veterenarian's office. Not just any vet. You need the public vet to sign off on your pet's papers.

I think you did a video on the boat taxi about 3 years ago. They rehabilitated the pier in Naga that was supposed to go to one of the piers in Cebu City.

I first arrived in Cebu onboard the 2GO ferry ship. I booked a room for 2 overnight from Manila. It was a fun trip with meals included. The primary reason that I took the ferry was because of my heavy luggage. It would have cost me a fortune on an airliner. The ferry didn't care about the weight! I hired a porter to help haul my luggage to my room.

We did the bus from Dumaguete to Cebu once and the ferry to Bohol a few times. But I'm with you on wanting to try the ferry from Cebu to Manila or Subic. I'd want the cabin though. Cindy had done it a few times but open air only.

I will fly when possible.. if I do take a ferry I will certainly bring my own flotation device that will be big enough for me and my girl because I am so out of shape I doubt if I could save myself much less her.. I'll bring one of those flotation devices that blow up from the CO2 air canister.. I think the ferry would be okay if you would rent a air condition room.. do they have any air condition rooms that have TVs and beds and bathroom?.. of course if it was a short 30 or 45 minute ferry ride I would not need all the extra perks but if it wasn't too expensive I would get a air condition room.
    Thanks 👍

LOL! Your thinking and planning ahead Richard and that is good. I don't think any ferries have cabins with their own CR but I could be wrong.

Don't ask the locals Rod. You should know better! Even the port security guards are clueless. Go to the ferry company ticket office for the only good info.

LOL! True Richard. Most locals will only know if they take a ferry...but they do know the jeepney routes.
