This is one of the best knife showcase videos I've ever seen. Loved hearing the journey of improvement and seeing the evolution step by step. The knife is gorgeous too, I actually *really* like that second proto for some reason. Everything I've seen from them is 100% my jam.
I'm a big fan of Machinewise products. I have two balisongs of theirs and the quality is off the charts. I've been watching the progress of this knife and am super excited they sent you the prototypes with explanations like this.
Kole, would you know how to change a high pitch squeaky voice into a deep manly voice? 🧐 Help him out and borrow him a voice changer 😂. Hollow be thy grind from downunder, and not the filthy one or naughty one 😈 but the 🇦🇺🤣. both of you keep up the great work
The progression of the prototypes is seriously impressive, this looks like a company worthy of following, the materials, the precise machining, the attention to detail, fit and finish, wow, dude, please send my compliments to this company, wish I was in the usa sothat I could purchase one of these knives, once again sir, great content, pity I live in the uk,we just can't get this sort of knife here without jumping through so many legal hoops, but the next time I'm in Canada, I will be sure to get in touch to purchase through your links at least five knives I saw in your reviews from last year, chau for now, sir, keep up the great content, cudos to u
This was great, love to see an evolution demonstrated. Great aesthetic and the lock bar with the internal relief grind is very desirable. Thanks for sharing
I like this style of unboxing because you get to see the craftsmanship through all the various stages. It makes a great story attached to the blade. I really want one now.
Definitely recommend taking a look at some of machinewise other products such as his balisongs. The machining on his higher end Balis are almost unmatched and definitely worth taking a look into that field even if you’re not very familiar with those types of knives.
I generally don’t like Warnclifs But this and the off grid knives mamba really appeal to me Give this knife like 5-10% more belly again, and it will be perfect!
Very nice seeing some progression throughout their process. Re pocket clip texture- not necessary, obviously, but carry depending? Killer detail and I think I'm a fan of a complimentary pattern. Not that I'd kick a matching pattern out of my -bed- pocket. 🤘🏼✌🏼
I’ve been following MachineWise for a while, and the minute I saw the Mojave I reached out hoping the blade would be 3.5”+ for those of us with big hands. CANNOT wait for these to drop, I’m already saving my spare change ❤
I love the design of the Mojave, but I was hoping that since it isn't an integral, the price would be cheaper than the Sonora. I read on reddit the price for the Mojave will be around $800, which is even more than the Sonora.
im getting craig brown vibes from their most recent prototype of the mojave ( maybe its the pocket clip relief milled into the lockside, maybe its the pattern milling on the scales) either way I know that two things will be true, first these are not cheaply made (theres a metric ton of milling and machinework being done here whether its an integral or not and for prototypes the tolerances appear to be unreal) - the second is that I dont think it truly matters whether they price this at 500 or 850 these will sell out and stay sold out, guaranteed. Its like they looked at the Oz Rosie and said "this is how you do a slab style construction, I am the captain now" - im going to make it my mission to get my hands on one this year - thanks for the look MC
I like the handle and pocket clip patters to be different, for richness in the design. They should be contrasting but complementary in some way. I like the patterns used here.
The Clip question... I think Smooth Clip + Patterned handle should be an option... but having a patterned clip that matches, OR is different from the handle, is also nice. I really liked the way the 5th proto looked with two different patterns... but I would be fine with either of the three options. Also, I dig the fuller and prefer it over the cutout on that blade... looks great to me, and doesn't detract from the ability to reverse flick, so win/win.
This is some good content brother! You can see how they were continually refining certain aspects of the knife with each prototype. They definitely altered the flipper several times. Then it looks like they eventaully had that part pinned down to its final shape in the last three prototypes. I thought the liner lock was out though? It is a little too easy to cut yourself closing it.
I typically like a patterned clip that matches the scales, such as with Craig Brown Knives, but surprisingly, the contrasting patterns on the 5th prototype really look good. The blade is just perfect!
Fun video seeing the progression of the prototype. I really like the mirror finished look for the blade and I thought the pocket clip would look really good with a matching pattern boxed in like the scales. It would just feel like another level up with them matching.
When it comes to the clip and scale engraving there is nothing better to me than Grimsmo's Dragonscale pattern they do for the Rask that matches up perfectly with the clip. It is just stunning.
Love a nice pattern on the clip, match the handle pattern, but size it differently, smaller or larger pattern marks...if i make sence....beautiful knife,i want me one er 2......
I prefer the matching milled clip especially in the case of the version 5 milled texture it looks phenomenal. I’d prefer a mirror polished stonewash finish on the blade as I think it would match the esthetic of the design. Amazing piece. Very very nice.
Finally someone that realized what the appropriate HRC range is for M390/20CV, good on them. There is NO reason why that composition should EVER be below 61HRC *cough* WE *cough* (think I got something in my throat there). 🤣
I love the blade shape, rear flipper, fuller and forward finger choil. The overall shape and how the blade and handle flow together looks great. Not sure how I feel about the large, (probably ineffective) saw tooth jimping. I think it adds a little to the aesthetic, but I could do without it or make it much smaller and sharper for some actual bite. Definitely don’t care for that lanyard back spacer sticking out. They could make the handle slightly shorter (get rid of that pokey rear end) and either do a hidden lanyard hole or at least make a back spacer that terminates at the butt of the handle with no lanyard hole…And do away with that lower screw (just use pins on either side of the one screw - no need for an extra screw). I certainly won’t be buying one with that lanyard protusion. I’m quite surprised this wasn’t the first thing to come out of your mouth considering how much disdain you have for lanyard holes. Absolutely love that milling pattern. I wouldn’t mind a smooth plain pocket clip (due to cost) but I do believe a matching patterned clip would look better. Beyond that, I like the blade hole in the first proto, but it’s not necessary.
Gotta have the matching pattern on the clip it’s gotta be pretty poking out of the pocket and definitely need polished blade with raw Ti frame with matching pattern! The new proto is beautiful !
Im not usually a fan of flippers, but me oh my that knife is sexy. I want. Was that choil flippable? And yes, that pattern clip is like the cherry on top. Makes it better in my opinion. The contrasting patterns doesn't bother me personally.
They should also push that plunge grind back too. A couple sharpening isn't adequate. Personally I'd have to modify it. Love the bald spot and I'd also switch to S90v.
20CV at 61-63? I'm already sold. I would prefer the opening hole come back though, and honestly... I'd be happier if it lost the flipper. Plain back, patterned clip. Patterned back, plain clip. I like the contrast. For the Sonora: If they polished the entire blade the way they do that edge... oh boy I'd be throwing money at them. Especially with their Blurple Ti ❤

Anybody who's new to this turn back now before it's too late.
“Oh me, oh my”. I think that’s a genuine reaction to nice texturing. 10:36
This is awesome to get to see the progressing stages! Wish there was a flipper delete model. Thanks for always showing the whole knife spectrum!
Grab the hacksaw 😂
Patterns in the clip are a hard yes. And I agree, the milling lines in the clip vs the pattern on The handle is just friggin mint!
I hope all people who make prototypes send you their steps in progression...it makes for a super cool video
Really digging the pocket clip with a contrasting pattern!

_This is a great manufacturer! Love to see it!_
The Voice is never coming back, just get used to it hahahahah
TOGETHER....RIGHT NOW🎵🎵🎵

Dude this is so cool seeing the progression. Machine wise is not messing around.
Totally agree. You never get to see stuff like this. These are the real details and process.
For real man I’ve been thinking the same thing
The progression of the prototypes is seriously impressive, this looks like a company worthy of following, the materials, the precise machining, the attention to detail, fit and finish, wow, dude, please send my compliments to this company, wish I was in the usa sothat I could purchase one of these knives, once again sir, great content, pity I live in the uk,we just can't get this sort of knife here without jumping through so many legal hoops, but the next time I'm in Canada, I will be sure to get in touch to purchase through your links at least five knives I saw in your reviews from last year, chau for now, sir, keep up the great content, cudos to u
Love the contrast with the clip pattern and the more complex pattern on the scales.
That’s some *serious* machining
This was great, love to see an evolution demonstrated. Great aesthetic and the lock bar with the internal relief grind is very desirable. Thanks for sharing

That was really neat seeing the progression. Acoustics are killer!
Very nice seeing some progression throughout their process.

Not that I'd kick a matching pattern out of my -bed- pocket.
🤘🏼✌🏼
I agree with the super high polished mirror lake finish on the blade as an option I also would like to have a relatively plain.
I'd like ta see Damascus.....love it
I’ve been following MachineWise for a while, and the minute I saw the Mojave I reached out hoping the blade would be 3.5”+ for those of us with big hands. CANNOT wait for these to drop, I’m already saving my spare change ❤

This made for a really cool video. I’d be interested in more like this. Very cool.
I like the different pattern on the clip. It makes it stand out instead blending in and being washed out
Beautiful!!!!! number 5 is the shizzzle! The clip awesome!!!
They are making some sweet designs, definitely keep the Proto #1 blade TING on final design, Thanks MC 😎

Unmatched pattern on the clip is preferred. Just like shown. Mirror finished blade would be cool! Nice knife... I am DEFINITELY interested!
I like the handle and pocket clip patters to be different, for richness in the design. They should be contrasting but complementary in some way. I like the patterns used here.
I love the pattern on the 5th. The 4th had different acoustics. It may just be me. Amazing knives!
I freakn love my Sonora so Im def gonna pick one of these up. Machinewise does amazing work !
The prototype progression was a lot of fun to watch.
I know this was probably shot a while ago but I hope you're feeling better
Those are sweet! Matching milling on the clip for sure.
Sweet looking MOJAVE. Love my MagnaCut 64 hrc Sonora. Titanium blue with gold accents.
That's the exact one I want! Does the gold color and reflection look the same in person?
Yes. If you go to their website you can see several with gold accents. Ti and brass.
@@rodlively156 oh trust me.. I've seen them.. like 20 times lol.. some gold ano looks awesome in pictures but meh in person is why I asked. 👍
TBH, I like it the way it is. I love the different pattern as it is on the clip. Beautiful knife.
The Clip question... I think Smooth Clip + Patterned handle should be an option... but having a patterned clip that matches, OR is different from the handle, is also nice. I typically like a patterned clip that matches the scales, such as with Craig Brown Knives, but surprisingly, the contrasting patterns on the 5th prototype really look good. The blade is just perfect!
The lanyard beads are also dice, so I would gladly buy those separately, since I think they look nice! 🤩
Brown Knives ordering process gives the option to select a milling pattern for the scales and the same or different pattern for the clip.
I hope to get one of these. Machine Wise makes an incredible balisong also.
Fun video seeing the progression of the prototype. I really like the mirror finished look for the blade and I thought the pocket clip would look really good with a matching pattern boxed in like the scales. It would just feel like another level up with them matching.

Patterned clips add traction when removing the knife from the pocket...👍
I would love a polished option of the last in line
Love a nice pattern on the clip, match the handle pattern, but size it differently, smaller or larger pattern marks...if i make sence....beautiful knife,i want me one er 2......
Lovede this video, super interesting! Liked the contrast on the pocketclip
The one with the lanyard looks great!😊
I like the different pattern on clip. Also like the high polish.
Oh, they LOVE you!!
As for the clip pattern, sure, it's nice. And I kinda like the contrast.
I love that handle pattern on the v5 proto! And honestly I like the contrast with the plain clip.
I prefer the matching milled clip especially in the case of the version 5 milled texture it looks phenomenal. I’d prefer a mirror polished stonewash finish on the blade as I think it would match the esthetic of the design. Amazing piece. Very very nice.
This form factor is great, these look fantastic!
Man this is a seriously impressive upload MC🔥 seeing progression like this on the same model is insane this is a whole diff level!
With the first there is a chanfreinage in the handle and a clip at the bottom of it. The others have the clip but no chanfreinage ..! ^^
First thing I noticed was the lack of sharpening life on the blade. Glad they will address that.
Lefty version/lefty clip mount please.
But yeah, I prefer it when the surface of a milled clip matches the surface of the scales.
I like it to match the handle pattern if possible but it's not a necessity. Looks like it's gonna be pretty awesome
The sound they make is glorious. Ting!
Lemon and honey with 1 cup of hot water and a shot of whiskey
It helps a lot with the throat
Finally someone that realized what the appropriate HRC range is for M390/20CV, good on them. There is NO reason why that composition should EVER be below 61HRC *cough* WE *cough* (think I got something in my throat there). 🤣
Uh oh, sounds like you're catching what MC had.
@@P.W.R. lol
1st thought on the pivot, looks like the Norseman.
Michinewise is a goat, they make awesome balisongs too!
The moment I saw the clip textured and different from the handle I thought it was SUPER sick!
What is a steel lock bar insert? Thank you.
This is an awesome video series. Keep more like this coming.
I love the blade shape, rear flipper, fuller and forward finger choil. The overall shape and how the blade and handle flow together looks great. Beyond that, I like the blade hole in the first proto, but it’s not necessary.
I assume they are using their bushing pivot system in this knife like they have in the Senora. Looks like another winner.
I like patterns on the pocket clip but also want it to match e either the blade or hardware. Otherwise it’s just weirdly offsetting
Gotta have the matching pattern on the clip it’s gotta be pretty poking out of the pocket and definitely need polished blade with raw Ti frame with matching pattern! The new proto is beautiful !
A different pattern on the clip looks clean on proto 5
Im not usually a fan of flippers, but me oh my that knife is sexy. I want. Was that choil flippable? And yes, that pattern clip is like the cherry on top. Makes it better in my opinion. The contrasting patterns doesn't bother me personally.
I’m liking #5 but with the shiny blade #1 has that would look amazing IMO !!!
100% pattern on the clip. For instance, I love the way the quill pattern on the scales seem to almost continue on the clip of my Holt Haptic
Love that “ting” sound. Blade shape looks awesome too. Sorry if you have already done one but how about a video of the best sounding knives?
Beautiful knives! I want one!
They use to be some of the best priced US made integral but they are up to $750 now.
Let me be clear they are probably still worth it. They are great
They should also push that plunge grind back too. A couple sharpening isn't adequate. Personally I'd have to modify it. Love the bald spot and I'd also switch to S90v.
Which knife would you go for the sonora or the grimsmo rask ?
very cool seeing the progression. i also prefer a patterned clip when its a raw ti. That integral... oh man.❤❤
Prototype 1 with the Flipper Tab from Prototype 2 woulb be amazing! 😍
At around 800, its hard to justify. Great looking knife tho.
Matching pattern on the clip. The jimping farther toward the tip of the blade is kinda weird.
Love my MachineWise Sonora.
I don't think they anodize titanium. Usually you get those colors from heat.
It's called heat anodizing. You can use a propane or butane torch.
Definitely have an option for a pattern on the clip
I like first finish and the last pocket clip the most 🎉
Great work, machine wise.
I do appreciate some sort of milling on the pocket clips. At the very least chamfered.
I knew machinewise was going to make a banger this year. Definitely buying as soon as it becomes available.
Metal, i can guarantee you, regardless of the voice strain, we aint going nowhere! Keep 'em coming! ❤
I prefer no pattern on the entire knife and clip like a PJ Sebenza because I really like the used snail trail look.
put the linear milling from 3/4 and add the opening hole from 1 on the final model and that’s gonna be money
This really scratches the knife nerd in me, great video
Oh Man, The small batch made in USA difference ! I'm IN.
2 questions. How much do you think you've spend on knives total? What what did you do to get this wealthy?
Think they would make a lefty? I like it!
