Honestly from what i seen that original shell looked in great condition hopefully you will reuse it as a replacement shell for a beat up Gameboy Sp in the future.
Ahhh....so sweet! I love how it turned out even with the misteps. I did the same thing to my mom. She didn’t become gamer until a few years ago. Now, She loves her puzzle games on her 3ds.

I have the same model of GBA and an adapter that goes from the charge port to a 3.5mm audio jack exists if you want to order one for her... sorry the mod was truncated because of the wrong parts that were ordered... I have no doubt Mom will love the system modified with the most important mod of all, LOVE. May your weekend be filled with love and smooth flying discs!
This looks awesome and I'd love to do one in the purple kit, but then I think about the fact that that it would be a huge PITA to get the hinges to swap over.
