- This Vw caddy literally owes me £54 spares repairs , it does run abit ruff and it’s in serious need of a clean but is it worth a build series and making into a show queen.

Raffle it off when you’re done with it and give a subscriber the chance to own a nice caddy for cheap. You’d have no problem selling the tickets and you can do plenty of them so you would make more on it than you would just selling it

You, my guy IS the guy how I managed to do a conversion on my A3 2009 from blown BLS to a MK5's Golf 2007 BKD. At the moment I’m even doing the whole suspension refresh with every single spec of rust removed and re-undersealed with every nut and bolt brand new. Never thought I would be doing any of it

definitely worthy of a full makeover, new colour, fresh suspenders, hybrid bumper and 2 litre engine. another great build series in the making ah ye, go for it !!!

Injectors have been out and dislodged dirt , had the same issues on same engine , sent them away for cleaning , refitted them and ran perfect 😊

Definitely build it, but please put the cr170 lump in. Soo many people want to do this conversion themselves (including me) but there isn’t any step by steps builds out there. It would be a very popular video I can say that for definite.

I would love to see this as a DTE swamper fishing caddy. Lift it, all terrains, hybrid textured look bumpers? Deflectors, satin paint, side or rear awning… it would be the nuts! AH YE!
been having a ponder . may i suggest . no lowering fit off road tyres . refresh the front and rear bumpers back to a nice black . roofrack or box and micro camper it. ?

Ah ye another great DTE TV video to enjoy. The Caddy is definitely worthy of a build and as another post has said raffling it off when done might be the way to go. Salvage Rebuilds I believe have raffled off cars on their channel. Have a great weekend mate.

Keep doing what your doing pal, inspired me to buy a caddy, only week 3, just finished a wheel upgrade and refurb, bought a mk7 golf gti bumper for a hybrid and got a rear seat conversion on its way! Im addicted but i dont have to travel far as its all on here!!! Cheers bro! Keep posting!

I reckon you should try to do this one differently, as much as possible, from your van. Go for different seats, maybe those Polo GTI seats or something. A different type of hybrid front bumper. What about reconditioning the 1.6 TDI engine so it runs sweet again - loads of poorly ones out there means your vid bringing a poorly 1.6 TDI back to health would be super useful. Try to show a different approach to each part of build series to the way you have already done them

@@davidmairs6233 Is there something wrong with my comment? Sorry, my English isn't great. I'm a fan of DTE from Tunisia. All I meant is that the 1.6 TDI is a good engine until it runs into injector problems. The van looks incredibly clean after DTE's treatment and cleaning-it truly deserves a BKD engine! I'm also looking forward to seeing the harness job because he did an amazing job explaining the wiring in the red Caddy.

Such a lovely clean van. I like the silver but Skoda Rallye Green would look good. I can see the logic of swapping to the 2.0 litre diesel but would love to see an R32 swap complete with centre exit exhaust 😁 Whatever you do it will look mint though 😎

I had a transit connect before vw’s a similar age and it was absolute rotten, then bought a Vw and never looked back 👍

another great little van you've got there.i feel like its one of those where you either do as little as possible (for you 🙈) then sell on or go big and raffle off.i know you said your a diesel man but maybe for slightly different content it could be a gti engine swap?the whole euro 6 rubbish would put some people off entering if you did raffle it off as no point trying to win something you cant use 🤷🏼♀️

Incredible transformation, it won't smell like a horsebox now. Almost looks to go to convert to diesel, shove a new injector in it, flip it off and buy a down at heal Diesel version for a build series
Truck wash worked a treat Nath🧽 look forward to the upgrades. Like you say, balance between what it's worth versus the effort and cost to fix. I always say, they are only worth what someone is prepared to pay for them. But with some DTE love applied, it has to be worth an extra pound or two🤟

How about jacking up suspension a bit.. swamper tyres - a mild 'off roader/rutted farm tracks (suitable for a Farrier maybe ?)

Here he is 👌 I’m glad everyone is saying it’s build worthy cos I think so to, some people have mentioned a raffle on it, that way I earn a few more quid out of it and everyone has a chance of owning it. I am open to some suggestions on the build but I do already have a few ideas. I think it definitely has to be the golf r hybrid front bumper 😎

Nice van mate but if your engine swapping the easiest and best one to do is a CR140 or C170

What a gem of a caddy! A build series on this would be fab of course cuz it’s so mint it will end up being a showstopper after you’ve worked your magic on it, but even better would be another T5/T5.1 build series 😉

Looking forward to the build series. This may be a stupid question, but, will a caddy maxi side door fit a regular caddy? I like the idea of rear glass even if it's only on one side.
I work on vehicles for a living. Before you said your percentage of vehicles with mashed sills I thought to myself self about 1 in 3 motors I see has punted in sills. Most of the motors I work on are VW and they’ve all got jacking point indicators stamped into the sills. How people miss that I don’t know!
If you’re changing the engine… it’s time for the R32 3.2 VR6 build series 😂 everyone would love to see you do a full beans show queen, take it on a road trip, and then raffle it off 🤔

Profit isn't a bad thing mate you more than deserve to make a bit now and then do a nice build but just fix the 1.6 engine more for the next project. id love to see a T4 or T3 on the channel. infract id love to see a T3 TDI engine conversion DTE approved AH YE.
My last caddy 1.6 broke my heart with injectors, I have a ton of parts I never used hybrid bumper etc I’d love another one but would need a better engine. What car has the best simplest engine/box to swap in your opinion?. I know you said bkd, but what do they come in . Thanks

Great channel and love the content. I definitely learn a lot about caddys. I drive a 3rd gen 2014 model 1.6L petrol. I have a problem and wonder if anyone can assist. The caddy struggles to start. I have myself having to put my foot on the petrol in a pump motion to get it starting. If anyone has the same issue please advise. Thanks a lot.
