Great video and helpful advice. I recently purchased this exact Maytag washer, it's working fine, but two things...First, for the last few loads I've washed when a load finishes, the washer automatically turns off, is that normal? And what should the washer say when a load is finished?

Have a Maytag MVW6230HC that if there is anything more than half a load and it’s on Normal/bulky/heavy it just continues to “sensor” while trying to rinse. The load will be soaked and it will be a chore to get it to spin out. Sometimes you can put it on quick wash and it will run through. I ran the diagnostic and there were no fault errors listed. I also did the diagnostic cycle and nothing came up. The barrel when washing looking a loose and I don’t know if the barrels are meant to be super loose. Could that be a reason for the sensor issue? Great video by the way, it’s very helpful and informative!
Hi, yes, a loose drum could cause that. Usually if there's a mechanical fault, codes aren't going to show up because there isn't a sensor alloted to the issue. I'd check the tub nut in the drum for possible issues. Additionally, I have a video about the sliders underneath the Direct Drive styles, those can cause a ton of problems.

Is your dryer a gas dryer? because if ti is electric it does use 240V and not 120V. The first thing is to disconnect power for about one minute and reconnect power. If that doesn't solve the problem. You could have a latch mechanism, water pump or even the main board.
Try to disconnect the user interface from the main controller and then reconnect them it if works it is ok. Or the user interface needs to be replaced.

I purchased this washer in the Summer of 2020. Within the first year we had to replace the display panel. Nearly 4 years later we had to replace the ACU. Now that it has been replaced, the machine gets stuck on the spin cycle. When I do laundry, I have to turn off the machine and use the Drain/Spin feature to complete the cycle. We have called Whirlpool about the issue, and they thought the system needed a software update. It shows that there are no updates needed at this time, but it still gets stuck on the spin cycle. They have sent out a tech twice, but nothing seems to work. We have been dealing with this for nearly a month with no resolve. I'm ready to give up and purchase a new washer. I am now questioning my faith in the Whirlpool/Maytag brand.
There is a diagnostic code manual hiding in the plastic pocket inside the front panel of your washer. There might be another one on the back of the washer. It's crazy.
We have one of these, it's about 5 or 6 years old and keeps having dementia, forgetting how to do things like the spin cycle, even manually selecting it sometimes senses then skips all the spinning and says its done or lets the water fill but then forgets how to turn it back on for the rinse cycle then complains it doesn't have water, great washer highly recommend.

I have the faucet in my washer so I’ll turn that on when I load the clothes, make sure they’re all wet, then turn the washer off so it drains. I then run a wash cycle so it maybe thinks the clothes are heavier than they are. No idea if it’s even worth doing.
@@alexandriav3956 I just discovered that putting them on bulky fills the whole thing but takes more than an hour !
Just a single momma trying to get the load to wash 😂 ty kindly!!
Hope it helped!
Same my friend! I’m about to attempt to figure it out too!
Would this apply for model number MVW7230HW0
Thanks Ben
Hi, please tell me what I need to do with f3e3 ? Thank you for your video!
Did you get a answer. How do you know
I have just purchased this washer and it’s a large capacity washer but I’ve never seen more than 6 inches of water? Am I doing something wrong?
Need to put it on MAX FILL. Otherwise it will only add water based on the weight of the clothes you put in. These machines are absolutely the worst.
Can confirm! This washer is garbage. I have to make sure all my clothes are wet before I begin a cycle so it will add more water because it thinks the load is heavier than it is.
@@alexandriav3956just leave it on Colored clothes and set water level to "Max Fill" and you will only have to adjust your water temp and wash time...
Mine will not run cycles but will say washing complete any suggestions please and thanks
Just wondering how I run the test six I'm getting the f3 e2 code think it says that's the pressure hose fault
I need help! After I did the DLMS calibration cycle, my washer won’t start a regular cycle! I
Check error codes and see what pops up
Why does the little hook on the actuator that connects to the motor keep coming off?
They had a few have that issue. You can zip tie it on or replace the actuator with the older black style that somehow don't have the issue
Hi. Where can I download the error code list? The error code F7E4 was cut off in the middle on the video. Thank you!
F7E4 = motor drive module over voltage from the sheet inside my washer. I can't help you further on that.
Great video! Thank you very much. My whole unit control panel appears to not have any power (even after attempting to unplug/replay and service tech mode). Any tips for opening the lid if it’s closed shut?
Watch my video on how to open the top of the lid up from the chassie. That's the only way you're going to do it to bypass the leadlock without causing any damage.
My washer keeps saying F7E3 this is the 2nd time in four years and now it don’t want to work. What should I do pay 500 to fix again
Hey man you helped me fixing a washer with a different video I figured to get a response I’d come to a new video. You saved me a lot of time and money I’d like to make make a donation if possible please let me know how I could.
my code is not on here... it basically is the capital letter A in what looks like a basket with a til
"~" sign over it.. this goes on before and after the machine is locked with clothes. please help :(
When we get to entering service mode we get a blank screen
What does that mean🤷🏽♀️
Never mind we got it to work🤦♀️
What if my f2e2 code won't go away, even after I kept it unplugged and replugged it back in?
How about for the equivalent dryer?
I need help but with my dryer.. any videos on that?
Not on this style yet sadly
On my Maytag model MVW7230HWO washer I changed the motherboard and now I have a code F2E2 displayed and nothing I do removes it from the screen I tried unplugging it for 1 minute The machine has down for about 3week while waiting on the new motherboard so how do I reset the machine so I can use it
I’m literally having the same problem. What’d you do?
Factory reset it
My Maytag washing machine and dryer have so far lasted 26+ years.
If it ever breaks, have it fixed! Don’t do what we did and buy one of these new machines. Ours is 2 years old and I’m here to learn how to take it apart to fix it myself because it’s direct drive electric motor is already having problems and nobody can get to it *FOR SIX WEEKS.*
Ihad a big old Commercial pre millennium model. Needed a fill sensor I believe. Really wish I wouldn't have scrapped it. This one...JUNK
@@aaronmacy9134I agree with you 100%. Things produced recently suck - and this applies to every item of any field.Karl Marx predicted this happening over 150 years ago.
I have this washer, and it is leaking at the bottom. I’m going to try going through the diagnostic process and see if that sheds any light. The idea of “fixing” this is very intimidating
Mine starts the load but water never goes in and after a few seconds it say load completed
This just happened to me today. Not even 2 years
I’m having the same exact issue. Were you able to find a fix for this?
@@stephaniecaldwell2779 after resetting an such.. we called a guy to replace some part for $200ish job.
What if its "stuck on please turn knob to select cycle" but i turn the knob and it doesnt work
I have this washer. Mine stopped mid cleaning cycle and now won't power on. So hopefully this video will help me.
Did it help?
Mid cycle, mine like this lost the main control board when that happened
My washer won’t turn on, is locked and has clothes inside. the power is on because the dryer is working just fine. Please help. What do I do next?
Is your dryer a gas dryer? because if ti is electric it does use 240V and not 120V. The first thing is to disconnect power for about one minute and reconnect power. If that doesn't solve the problem. You could have a latch mechanism, water pump or even the main board.
Mine keeps turning off saying cycle complete. Literally wont kick over. What do i do?
Same. What did you do to fix it?
I have a code F2E1 stuck button. What needs to be replaced?
Try to disconnect the user interface from the main controller and then reconnect them it if works it is ok. Or the user interface needs to be replaced.
What if it has no power at all? Plug had power. Washer just wnt power on. May tag def ant what it used to be
Ben way wont it fill .l bought this new .l have try all setting to get the right way l wont it to work for me .what it does does .is turn on heavy washer .water comes on but cant see any water then it starts to beat the close with out any water . .can the custom mode video .will it let the machine fill with water before washing .please get back to me.
Yes mine does the same .l hate the washer .there should be a recall on them
Mine will sense for washing then go straight to wash complete and hasn’t done a thing I’ve done a factory reset and cleared any error codes… what else can I do???
Mine too. What did you do to fix it?
@@KeishaLewis-38mine too!!! How did you guys fix it?
My washer is currently show “F2E2 Contact service” it won’t even let me enter the diagnostics mode
Mine doesn’t display anything what can I do? It turns on but can’t see anything on it
I purchased this washer in the Summer of 2020.
My impression is that this washer is becoming the most hated one on the market by techs
This washer is definitely the worst. I've never in my life purchased a larger piece of junk.

Code F8E1 what needs to do ?
I need help with this error, you have a solution bro?
At if you run all diagnostics all test and it then says at the end wash end.
do anyone know where i can get these manuals he is talking about
There is a diagnostic code manual hiding in the plastic pocket inside the front panel of your washer. There might be another one on the back of the washer. It's crazy.
We have one of these, it's about 5 or 6 years old and keeps having dementia, forgetting how to do things like the spin cycle, even manually selecting it sometimes senses then skips all the spinning and says its done or lets the water fill but then forgets how to turn it back on for the rinse cycle then complains it doesn't have water, great washer highly recommend.
too bad there is not a way to change the value for the clean cycle. Increase it to 40 instead of 30. great video saving this one for sure!
That would be a good one. These companies really need truly cusomizable cycles that let you pick eeeeeeeeeeverything via an app.
Thank you
yes, Maytag is garbage, washer & dryer both had major issues within 2 years. Cheaply built with very expensive to repair.
I’m having problem that it won’t spin fast .
hey man you should make a video about what happens if the fridge and freezer temperatures are to cold and to high.
I'm not sure what you are wanting exactly? That will vary by model
