my jazz interest peaks whenever I develop an addiction to methamphetamines and cheap table wine which seems to happen every 4 years or so, after that i don't listen to jazz until the next strangely timed binge.
Hi Jimmy: This recording features the Montgomery Brothers - Wes on guitar, Buddy on piano, and Monk on bass - as well as drummer Bobby Thomas. Far as I know, Wes never recorded this number with his group based around pianist Harold Mabern, which is the band Wes used on his European tour in 1965. They were a killer group, but came some years after this was recorded in 1961. Cheers....
0:36 - A thrilling and living sound of a sus chord, implying that life is full of joy and things to discover 0:39 - A gray sound of minor 6th chord, implying the grayness of the life in the big city 3 seconds difference, beautiful..
Back after 11 years. I had just moved on from metal to softer sounds back then, but came to appreciate all music from all around the world after awhile. Funny how things turn around...
Man I love to look at old album covers and dream while the music rolls…

Wes est tout simplement FABULEUX !!!
magic!
I believe,on hearing,that this is Wes' quartet with "Lace"/drums; Mabern/piano;Arthur Harper/bass.
It's brothers Monk and Buddy on piano n bass and (I think, memory's fading) Lex Humphries dms. Knockout tune, whole albums great.
