Hey guys so something I’ve learned since I filmed this video is that you want to have your shutter speed double your fps. So if you have your settings at 1080p 30fps, then you want your shutter speed to be 60! Not 50. Hope this helps 😊
I'm Canon 750D owner as well! Great video for beginners, but you could add one more thing, that's audio. Most of beginners forget about the audio (so they are using stock camera microphone). Although their video might look great, the sound will kill the whole experience. So what you want to do is go to your audio settings in the menu and set Sound recording to Manual. Then scroll down to Rec level and lower bar so when you're talking the levels are around -12db (you can always boost up the audio in post production). Crucial thing is that audio doesn't hit 0db (that's called peaking). That means that your audio gets distorted and the audio information is gone. Eitherway great video for beginners! Keep it up :)

I have the same camera and I've been struggling so bad for the last year I can't hardly stand it! I feel like my makeup always looks great and blended in person and then when I watch it back everything is patchy and hideous. Thanks for the tips I hope it helps.

I would suggest when you cover F-Stop that you make sure to say that say that the light in the room will affect the F-Stop setting, as well as the ISO. a 3.5 (Which is a 2/3 stop between 2.8 and a 4.0) is going to let a fair amount of light in, but if you have it set to 3.5 in a bright room, or outside during the day, your entire shot would be over exposed
Katie, this a great and simple way to setup the camera to make great videos or TH-cam videos. I don't know about any type of video settings but your explanation was easy to follow and understand. rxstrmom are you on manual focus? Because I use auto focus and it seems to focus quite quickly and I use the face tracking mode. Maybe try that if you haven't already? 💖💖

Thanks for this. I have a 24mm 2.8 lens. The servoaf drives me crazy because it keeps adjusting and refocusing. Usually I just record myself, no fast moving objects. I shut it off.

I've watched this several times, had it up on my laptop for weeks! Finally got around to making a cheat-card with all the settings, so I have it easily available whenever filming! I have a lot of experience shooting photos in manual, but completely new when it comes to videos, so this was very helpful as a good starting point! Also helped me realise how much I could control while actually shooting, saving me so much time in post-processing! Definitely subscribed to you to check out more content too 💜

Great video! I just bought this camera to upgrade for doing my TH-cam videos. After making the settings, do I need to press that set button? If I go back to an auto mode for some other purpose, do I lose the settings? If I make settings in the still camera mode will that change things for the video mode? Thanks! Gary

Hey i just bought this and uploaded a video on my youtube, but my settings are 1080p, but when i transfer it onto my mac, i click on get more info it only says 720p? can you help me because all my videos are currently 720p and want to record in best quality?
for my settings I'm on 1920x1080 25fps but for my middle one i only have 1280x720 50fps so its not 1080p? but i have the same camera as you am so confused?
Gchizzle Fitness as long as the 1080p is selected on your camera, then you'll be recording in 1080p. Maybe it's the way your exporting your video on your computer? B/c you can record in 1080 and export your video on 720. Id say check your settings on your editing software. Otherwise I'm not too sure what the problem would be 🤔 lol hope this helps!
thank you i just spent last 2 hours trying to see whats wrong lol, if i export it on my computer and download it straight it goes to 720p. but if I upload it straight from camera to iMovie its 1080p, so my next video should be 1080p lol thanks for help tho

Alexx Beautyxo I would suggest getting the canon 50mm 1.8 stm lens. It has a wide aperture which means the lens opens up really wide and lets a lot of light in. I don't have fancy lighting and this lens helped me out so much! And the lens is only $125 which is really good for a lens. ☺❤

Great video and I just filmed some test videos and its stil very dark in a room with blinds closed and ring lights for lighting. When i switch from Manual to TV my display screen was much brighter... any clues. I notice when in Manual when he setting was 100 it was dark and when used the wheel just behind the shutter button and switched to 30 my screen was much brighter and do you recommend a particular non-USB mic as the audio isnt going or doesnt seem to be high quality from the built in mic.

Cassie Lindsay it's great for beauty videos! The auto focus is great. And it depends on the lens you get. Any of the canon lenses that say STM are silent when they focus, which thankfully this camera comes with a silent focusing lens. And it does not overhear, it's a great camera! 💖
missktxo So i bought the camera, filmed a video and im trying to transport the video to my phone over wifi. All ofthem are transferred except for 2 clips that are over 20 minutes long. Idk how to cut them in half though to transfer them!! 😫
Cassie Marie I believe Apple sells a little converter thing that you plug into the bottom of your phone and it has an attachment for your sd card. That way you can get all the stuff on your card onto your phone. But if you have an android I'm not sure what kind of accessories they have available. Of if you have a computer, that's the easiest way to transfer everything.
missktxo like the canon comes with wifi and the app but these 2 clips are too big so it wont transfer them. I have my sd card plugged into the computer rn and im trying to get it so where i can split it in half bc i dont have a mac so im editing on imovie on my phone This is complicated 😕

If we dont have good lighting on our room to film video then keeping In ISO 100 or 200 is just so black .. So what should I do ?

If you're in the same area/room then yes, but if you were to use these video settings outside on manual, then you will definitely have to change it.

Cassie Lindsay it's great for beauty videos! The auto focus is great. And it depends on the lens you get. Any of the canon lenses that say STM are silent when they focus, which thankfully this camera comes with a silent focusing lens. And it does not overhear, it's a great camera! 💖

missktxo So i bought the camera, filmed a video and im trying to transport the video to my phone over wifi. All ofthem are transferred except for 2 clips that are over 20 minutes long. Idk how to cut them in half though to transfer them!! 😫
Cassie Marie I believe Apple sells a little converter thing that you plug into the bottom of your phone and it has an attachment for your sd card. That way you can get all the stuff on your card onto your phone. But if you have an android I'm not sure what kind of accessories they have available. Of if you have a computer, that's the easiest way to transfer everything.
missktxo like the canon comes with wifi and the app but these 2 clips are too big so it wont transfer them. I have my sd card plugged into the computer rn and im trying to get it so where i can split it in half bc i dont have a mac so im editing on imovie on my phone
