out of all the videos ive watched on learning the complexity of focusing, this was best and most helpful video ive ever come across. thank you so much.
Wow, I learned so much on these 9 minutes! this is a great video, highly recommended watching it! I have Canon Rebel T6 and everything you described as far as setting goes was pretty much the same in my camera even though you were talking about T6s & T6i so I was able to do all the necessary adjustments. Thank you!
So glad I bought the t6i training Download, now I have a better understanding, Never used a camera before, only iPhone camera, amazing well worth the price thanks
Thank you :) very helpful video, very professional. I couldn't focus my pictures with my CanonT6i till i saw your video. I was so frustrated I was thinking that was my Tamron lens, my camera etc :( but thanks to your video I came with better pictures. I will practice more.
im late to the party, Just got this camera as a gift from my mother in law (a pass me down) i love the camera, but wanted to understand all of what it can do. This was so helpful , thank you. Do you have a tutorial on the video option of this camera?
Thank You!!!!! I just got this t6i and was having such a hard time with focus, This is the very best video.... I have read books and watched videos. but after seeing this I get it Thanks again :) :)
Awesome video! Once, I watched your video about t6s-t6i vs nikon 5500 and you solved my problem about which camera to buy. I am planning to buy the canon t6s/760d. And this video helped me to get rid of my confusions about focusing. Please suggest me the lens for it. I want a prime and a zoom lens in decent budget, not very high. Once again thanks.
Thanks so much for this. I've been trying to film make up tutorials for a while and I couldn't figure out the focusing. It would constantly be focusing. I would move a bit or place my hand in front of my face with a brush and it would take forever to focus back or stay focused. I'm still getting the hang of it and this was SUPER helpful. Also, is there a limit or any restrictions to having Back button focusing?
hello, I've got my manual in japan it's 8000d canon, this video really helps a lot, so if I'm shooting macro(mostly insects) which type of focusing should I use? they mostly doesn't move much.
Hello Michael I came back to your video again regarding the focusing point, it is the best explanation I have found so easy to understand. I had the man in the shop demonstrated when I first got the camera and I had problems when I use the 55-250 STM lens and it wouldn't autofocus went to a wrestling event. I've also bought a Tamron 16-300 mm lens but I thought because it was 6.3 on full zoom I thought it would be better to use the original Canon but was a bit disappointed why wouldn't autofocus them would have preferred to try the Tamron but of course it was too late. Any suggestions why it wouldn't autofocus. I'm pretty sure I was using spot meter and middle one on focusing at the bottom I get them both mixed up the two different servo modes when I see them I remember but anyway it was on the middle one. I was using AV mode and tried everything. When I was using the 500 D uses sports mode and at least got some photos a few years ago so I'm very mystified. I took it back to the shop with the same lens and it seemed autofocus there. As I did not want to be without it for a long while we just reset the camera to see what happened so far so good so not sure what else was wrong if anything. Anyway thank you for the informative video regards Mark Sydney Australia
Is the focus lock only available in full manual mode? If I'm changing light situations often and I set my camera on auto I am not given the option for the focus lock and the camera just focuses on whatever it wants.
I have seen so many reviews on TH-cam but I have to be honest... Your videos are amazing because they simply show everything one can possibly want. The comparison between cameras are the best in my opinion. Do you think mirrorless will outperform dslrs in the future or it is already happening ?
Hi there! If I use Ai Servo and have only the central focus activated (single square): Will AI Servo follow the subject through all the focus points, or if the central square is activated AI Servo cannot change from to the other focus points? I need to keep moving subjects, but I am used to always focus with the central point only. Greetings and thanks! PD: My camera is a T6i
hey Michael, your every videos are amazing, but i need ur help to choose a camera, actually i am confusing between canon t6s and canon t6i would u give me a suggestion between them plz.
Hello Michael thanks for the tutorial. As you mention in your video about looking through manuals I am a quadriplegic and although use in my arms and hands the videos make it so much easier even using PDF manual is frustrating but your videos are so helpful. I saw one of your other videos regarding the comparison between the Canon and the Nikon its competitor and glad I chose to Canon. I would have gone to the 760 D but could not unlock and pushed down the button on the round dial. Not sure if the two models are different between the rebel and 760. Anyway I'm happy with mine only touching the surface at the moment upgrading from the 500 D to the 750 D which is a vast improvement. Regards Mark Sydney Australia
I have a problem my Rebel T6S is stuck in video mode, i'm unable to even power off. I have to take the battery out, and even with it being out for extended period when i replace it the power comes on and it goes back to video mode. Can you help with any advice?
Awesome video!! I have been strugling with the focus for sometime now. I take photos of birds and , sometimes groups of ducks with their ducklings. I think i will give AL FOCUS a try when shooting groups of birds.Thank you :))
My focus square (when using a single focus square in Tv mode) only turns red when attempting to shoot in low light. It does not turn red (or green) when focusing in sufficient light (however, it does beep and the green circle in the corner lights up). The focusing square stays black. Is there something wrong with my T6i?
+mjp3210 - Answering my own question, you need to change Custom Function 8 to make the focus square change to red when focus is achieved (regardless of lighting conditions). You need to read page 342 of the pdf manual because it's not in the paper manual.
Sydney Currin get a t6s for better autofocus ,extra dial wheel beside the LCD screen and top panel display when you want to save battery not using the LCD screen
just want to shoot Still Objects , model photoshoot , which is best dslr amongst these: NIKON D5500 , CANON 70D , CANON 750D OR SONY A6000 ?also suggest lens for it ..
all of those cameras are pretty similar when it comes to still images.. Youll have to worry more about which lenses to use than which body to get. I have a canon so i'm pretty biased, but my canon 750d does a wonderful job and my friend's canon 70d does very well as well. Sony cameras are AMAZING(not to mention they are lighter) but i would suggest dishing out the extra money for a sony a6300 because you will be able to use a wider range of canon lenses(with autofocus) with an adapter. The sony a6000 will only work using manual focus with an adapter, if it matters to you.
I don't know about anyone else's but his haircut looks kinda like frank wests hair cut aka the main character in dead rising btw I'm talking about frank from dr2 off the record and dr1
This is what i dont like about canons, changing the focus point having to press that button before able to move point. By time done it subject moved. Nikons so much easier.
out of all the videos ive watched on learning the complexity of focusing, this was best and most helpful video ive ever come across. thank you so much.

im late to the party, Just got this camera as a gift from my mother in law (a pass me down) i love the camera, but wanted to understand all of what it can do. This was so helpful , thank you. Do you have a tutorial on the video option of this camera?
will you do something about video shooting ?! because i would use it for youtube :)
I have the t6 but some of the features are the same and I love your teaching style!
So do you have to change the lens focus indicator to manual focus?
Having just bought a 750d (my first DSLR) your video helped loads.
Many thanks...
Awesome Michael, Thanks.
Thank You!!!!! I just got this t6i and was having such a hard time with focus, This is the very best video.... I have read books and watched videos. but after seeing this I get it Thanks again :) :)

Hello Michael, how do you remove red squares from pictures?
Great video, What lens are you using on the camera that you are holding at the first minutes of the video?
I believe it was a 50mm 1.4
How do you make the camera focus and then take a good photo I'm a beginner and I can't look through the view finder well and it's blury

Vanessa Mendez what mode did you end up using?
So helpful! Thank you for making this video! I had troubles distinguishing the settings! Probably the best video. Double thumbs up!

do you have to hold the back button as your taking the photos

Awesome video. Great explanation. Tks for sharing. Well done!
I have the t6 1300d what would be the difference if I purchase this dvd
T6 doesn’t have a flippy screen and some other features

Thank you. Yes I think mirrorless are almost at a tipping point.

Sydney Currin get a t6s for better autofocus ,extra dial wheel beside the LCD screen and top panel display when you want to save battery not using the LCD screen

Thnks
Groet video
I don't know about anyone else's but his haircut looks kinda like frank wests hair cut aka the main character in dead rising btw I'm talking about frank from dr2 off the record and dr1
This is what i dont like about canons, changing the focus point having to press that button before able to move point. By time done it subject moved. Nikons so much easier.
Higher end Canons allow you to customize a direct joystick or pad without needing to press any buttons.
is there a way to change this on the t7i? It is annoying me so much!!!
👍👍
Change the points is strange for a Nikon user...
So why is a wedding all about the Bride
Ha I didn't realise you could move your camera after selecting focus with the single square
Thank you! Very helpful !
thank you for that informative video
Thank you for the video.
great info! Thank you...
