Very nice but does it conflict/override the VTX power configuration if set to always low power until the model is ARMED? And how about the value if the transmitter is powered off or if the FC is powered on before the Transmitter?
I want to use pit mode with my IRC Tramp VTX but the pit mode setting in INAV OSD menu doesn't work, it's not doing anything... I will appreciate if you repair it
this is awesome. I got it working with 3pos switch. my VTX supports 4 power levels though so I had to skip one power level. I would have wanted to use all 4 power levels with a pot or 6pos switch, but at 2:55 you only showed how to do it with LOW, MID and HIGH logic conditions which only gives me 3 power levels.
Unfortunately makes no sense, since Rssi is based on your RC control and since the receiver video is in the Google you cannot have that Rssi data easily on the fc to be able to implement that logic

Love this, need this! But is it possible in any way to use more power levels? I have it set up on my remote to incrementally change power levels, including pit mode (no pit mode during flight of course). So I have 5 total.
I don't think this setup will defeat the stick commands b ecause as Pawel explained at 5:14 the power level override is executed only once when you flick the switch.
I have used this guide for setting up a few wings now and it works great! I just tried to setup HDzero 1W VTX in the same way (as it too uses smart audio) and I was very dissapointed to find out that SA is not supported on HDZero for INAV. Is this something that will be rectified in the future? I know alot of people just say "just switch on the ground".... I like to launch in low power mode and increase/decrease as required.

Hi! Great feature!! I am trying to implement on 2.6. No success. I can change the vtx power with the stick commands (radio), and i can see the in the receiver the ch7 changing values. I can change a global variable value acording to the switch position, but when i try to set the vtx power.. it doesnt work. Is this some 2.6 limitation? (TBS Unify and Matek F411 Wing)

@@Terry_Fritz The Runcam 2 4k comes with a "remote wire" which they show in the manual being set up and controlled in Betaflight. It's shown being controlled on a servo output. The issue is that I believe the commands entered in the Betaflight CLI interface are specific to Betaflight. I haven't found or figured out how to do these in INAV.

Go to switches and tune your remote in camera control. Boom 💥 done working good . Put switch in mid position then u can use same switch for changing qr mode and record mode
Is it possible to use a toggle switch, like the "Trainer" switch, to cycle through the power levels on the VTX? So, every time you cycle that switch, the VTX power level increases? Obviously it would go from highest to lowest on the last cycle.

But when I plug my quad to the computer it goes directly into dfu and won't let me connect normally... Of I remove the bt nano from the board it goes back to normal.. Any ideas..?? Thanks.
Hi, Pawet. I'm riding a racer drone with an Inav/Matek f405 se flight controller but, i can't get my radio transmitter(AT9S Radiolink) to "talk" to that controller. The bars on the reciever do not move when i make the settings for Sbus. My reciever is a Radiolink RD9S and the bind with the radio is okay but, on the radio transmitter screen, appears a configuration information that says: "Output: PPM". I wire the fc to the ppm serial port but, in the inav configurator, the channels bars on the reciever are all blank. What's wrong? Did i forget to do any important settings? Really like the programming framework and the example you've given for its usage. The only thing is the flashing status indicator for the Set VTX Power operation, the fact that it only operates on change is a perfectly reasonable internal implementation detail but this should not leak out into the UI. The status indicator should represent the logic status only, which in this case should remain on. As it stands it's confusing at best. Also the options in the operation dropdown should probably be grouped into categories: www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_optgroup.asp

This works fantastic for 3 switch position (arm changes to 100mW low switch position, 400mW middle switch position, but high trying to get to 800mW will not budge) but I'm not getting output to 800mW with Succex-Force 25/100/400/800, playing with all values. I think the highest should be 4 but that only chnges it to 400mW.
Yea I did this on betaflight.. vtx power but on a dial to be able to switch between 5 power settings.. actually made a how-to video for a couple people.. everyone ask. It comes in handy especially on my LR when I decide to go further

Beatflight you enter power range like 900 to 1100, then 1200 to 1400, then 1500 to 1700, then 1800 to 2000.. then on transmitter I select the dial as that aux/channel. th-cam.com/video/-5JkPe2f5A0/w-d-xo.html in iNAV i believe you will have to use great than and less than and nor. To change as it gets higher. Seems complicated. Maybe Pawel knows a easier way. I also set my transmitter up than its always in 25mw when disarmed no matter where switch is
Hi Pawel, thanks for explaining this so clearly. It works for my setup, but with a strange glitch. Power level 1 is 25mW, when I switch to lever 2, nothing happens and when I switch to 3 I get 600mW. If I then switch back to level 2 I get 200mW. What could be the cause of this? I am using a DarwinFPV TX805 with 25, 200,600 and 800mW connected to a Matek F411-Wing FC.
It should, as long as it is set up for Smart Audio. Unfortunately iNav does not yet seem to support CRSF as communication protocol between the Flight Controller and VTx.
Now that I think about it... if it'd enable setting the VTX forcibly into pit mode when disarmed it might (I repeat: might) come in handy :D But then isn't there already a setting that turns on pit mode in disarmed state?
@@flat-earther Yes and no. I've defined an adjustment that chances the VTX power output. I use it when flying long range in 3D cruise where I have a moment do other stuff than keeping the plane in the air, because it flies by itself. But pit mode when disarmed - not really, no.
Hey Pawel. Great video and channel, many thanks. Quick question, is it possible to do a 5 stage vtx power setup using channel values (eg on the 6 pos switch on the TX16S). My VTX has 10/25/200/500/800mW. Your logical conditions just showed 3 stages of low/med/high.
@@FPVUniversity thanks you’re a gentleman. I’ve managed to do it by using a logical condition RC channel 7 = 988us etc, one per stage of the 6-Pos switch. It works but my concern is if the channel drifts a few microseconds then I guess it won’t trigger?

For example we test smt, and we dont use camera so vtx is working and it becomes very hot .. if we can power it off, it will not be hot...it will be cold.. what is your theory::) ?

Paweł, I frankly don't see value in switching power levels on the VTX. If you consider 100mW vs 800mW it is not that big of a difference for long range and the mental overhead of switching VTX power mid-flight is high enough to keep you away from actually controlling the aircraft which in my opinion makes this feature not worth while. Even in racing you'd want to stick to one power level to focus on controlling the drone. So a no-no for me (although it is cool to see inav being able to do that :D)
You've got a point. Anything can distract you from actually flying your plane but it can be really useful if you want to test which powerlevel is actually adequate for your flight distance. Once it's done you can always use the channel for something else. I think it's a great feature.
If you are flying a stable airplane it is not so difficult. And if you don't want to do it with a switch, you can change the vtx power according to the home distance if you have a GPS or rssi value

my VTX supports 4 power levels though so I had to skip one power level.

You can use GREATER LOWER conditions too. It's just a general frameworks

why do you need to change the power level is that so you don't need to solder board?

No, no VTX tables, because it's a useless function. Still, INAV supports SA and Tramp protocol to change power and channel

INAV does not need vtx table. Everything works just fine without it

Some FC have PINIO that just cuts off power. No voltage, no heat
