    What kind of videos do you prefer: Experimentation with a tool or product or a Project video? Thanks!

      Stampjg - StephG , I personally love the experimenting that you’re doing. I’m wondering if you could cut a stencil and then use that to make something. I’m thinking of the Oracal stencil adhesive vinyl.

      Hi, Mel, Thanks for watching! I tested it real quick so I could reply... There is not enough depth for the heat pen to glide along the edge of the Oracal, it is too flat/thin. The heat pen also melted the edge of the 631 Matte I was using. I did have good success using Silhouette's Stencil material, though. The sticky back of both materials was something to consider too. I appreciate your question.

    Thanks so much for being so thorough in this video! I have a foil quill and have just been freehanding everything! Today I thought to buy some stencils, but metal stencils seem kind of hard to find! I’m glad to see that using plastic isn’t likely to result is a pile of melted plastic!

    You read my mind, I was afraid of hurting my stencils! Very helpful video! Just got my freestyle pens last night, today is for playing!

      Thanks for watching, Carol! Yay, you have freestyle pens! Mine are on the way, and I can't wait to use them. Enjoy your play day!

    I have a razertip woodburning tool with heat temp control...I almost think this can be used for foiling, it has very fine tips for burning as well as medium and large thick, shapes, etc. I may give that a try and see what happens.

      Hi, Denise, thanks for watching! The woodburning tool sounds interesting! That would be cool if it works to foil!

      Love you showing this! Have not bought these and was wondering if one can use them freehand too. This seems too tedious, you can't see what you are doing. I know since you made this video, the company has put out, but discontinued? a freehand tool set. (Can't find it on their website) Thinking if there is something one can rigg to these tools where you don't need that big sleeve... Some slimmer (finger) heat protection? Something made of silicone?

    I have a hand-held, battery operated one that I got several years ago by the same brand. Maybe recommend that one instead of this one that I'm assuming is to use with your die cutter. Mine was like $15 at HL, but I used a 40% off coupon. They also sell stencils to use with them, and this idea for using stencils with it has been around for years as well. The best stencils for this are not going to have wide open spaces. As you can see, it's hard to follow the edges when it's wide open.

    Vielen lieben Dank für Dein Video. Ich bin nun etwas frustriert. Ich wollte den Pen morgen bestellen und zögere nun. Ich möchte Worte oder kleine Motive auf selbstgebundene Bücher aufbringen. Aber ich mag keine Unregelmäßigkeiten. Habt ihr noch andere Ideen, die nicht gleich ein Vermögen kosten??? Vielen Dank ❤

    Imagine my surprise at being mentioned in your video. I remember watching a previous video but don’t remember the conversation. Oh, well, I’m old. LOL. I like the distress look that you got. I would be content with that because I wouldn’t have the patience to bend over to see from the side what I am doing. To get perfection I think putting the stenciled design in my ScanNCut would work better. Your card was charming. TFS

    I have heard that WRMK is releasing a freestyle foil quill set in August 2019! Had held quills to work with! There are actually 4 of them: fine tip, medium tip, bold tip AND a calligraphy tip!! So excited about this, especially the calligraphy tip!!!! X

    • @stampjg
      @stampjg  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! I haven't seen this yet, but a calligraphy tip would be fabulous! Thanks so much for the tip! I'll go stalk WRMKs socials for a peek.

      @@stampjg You won't find any thing there yet. I found out by accident here: www.louvik.be/nl/foil-quill-freestyle-pen-calligraphy-tip.html. After finding this, I contacted Melissa @ silhouette school and asked about it and she said she was aware of the items, but that was all the info she gave me.
      I reckon they will sell in a set or individually like the machine foil quill tips and I am hoping they might appear on HSN some time in late July or early August. I am so chuffed about these...the calligraphy tip version stole my heart straight away.
      Have a very Blessed and Magical day, petal! We crafters need to take care of one another! I will be trying to wait patiently along with you...and many others I am certain!
      Cheers! X

    Thank you Stephanie. Another great WRMK Foil Quill video. Question: are these the pens used in electronic die cutting machines (Cricut, Gemini, Silhouette, etc.)? Having worked with these Foil Quill pens, do you think the Freestyle Pens would have made your projects easier to accomplish the intended results. Since you can better see what you are doing?

    • @stampjg
      @stampjg  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, Kathy! Thanks for watching! Yes, these are the original Foil Quill pens that work in an electronic die cut machine. The Freestyle pens work much better with stencils and for handwriting. I can see the tip better and they are more comfortable to hold. I like both styles of pen and I use both, depending upon the project I want to create.

    Super interested in foil quilling with stencils but which stencil material would be a good one to use that won’t ruin either the pens or the stencil?

    • @stampjg
      @stampjg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Cathy, thanks for watching! I have found that if you keep your pen moving, it won't damage the stencil. Thicker plastic and stencils with wider designs help. Some stencils by Tim Holtz or Crafter's Workshop have such intricate designs that the pen doesn't get into the tight spaces. Tracing die cuts (heavy cardstock) also does well. Hope this helps!

      Hi, Sandra! Thanks for watching! The heat wave pen, I think it is called. I will probably try it and see how it compares. Some reviews say it doesn't keep power for long because of the batteries.

      @@stampjg Found this today and had to share...sascrapbook.co.za/product/we-r-memory-keepers-foil-quill-freestyle-starter-kit/. I hate to say this, but I actually bought the heat wave pen years ago when it first came out and...well, let's just say I reckon this upcoming foil quill version will be SO MUCH BETTER. I do hope the starter set might come with a 'bonus gift' on HSN: the calligraphy tipped pen!
      Hope the rest of your week end is very Blessed and Magical!
      Cheers! X

    is this the same foil pen -foil quill pens that go into cricut machine? or completely different.

    • @stampjg
      @stampjg  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Laurie! Thanks for watching! Yes, this is the foil quill pen that goes in a Cricut or Silhouette machine. I did this video as an experiment months before I knew that We R Memory Keepers was releasing the Freestyle foil quill pen that you hold in your hand.
