I love my mini mink! It’s available on Amazon. $39.00. Thank you for your honesty! I know many crafters will love the foil device but from watching the demo at creativation it just did not call my name. I love just using my laser printer and while it’s an upfront cost I can print forever. Happy crafting sll😘😘😘
Hi Nancy 👋 please give your little angel all my best I am thinking of hear , lovely cards you made thanks for all the help and tips please keep sharing and posting 🙏 .....have a good week love to all 🦋 Lin in South Wales uk
Gosh I just got home from a week long trip and came here and got blown away as usual. ........Nancy your always doing something exciting and it's always a blast to come here to visit you...........and see what the heck your up too...always fabulous............pat
After using my FQ I too decided it took too long, so went back to my MINC. However, I never thought of being able to use on black--only used on white background. Thanks for this info. I'm going to try using other colors too.
Thanks for the foiling videos..thinking about the Gemini foil press since i have the Gemini machine..so came across your video while searching for reviews...living in Canada it will be hard to get one..but think it would be the best option..I am like you impatient and don't think I would wait for the foil quill either. Was thinking of using the Gina K I think laser sheets in the mean time as I have a laminator.
Nancy, in order for me to foil like you just did, I need a laser printer, correct? Not an inkjet, right. That Mandela was gorgeous. Only you could figure out how to do this without a Quill or hot press foil thingy. That's why you simply the best out there. Tyfs. Terrific job. Hugz!
Thanks for this video! I just discovered your channel and am loving your videos! Question for you... with all these foiling systems, the Minc, Gemini Foil Press and now the new Foil Quill, how different are they really? I have the Minc, am waiting for the Foil Quill and just purchased the Gemini Foil Press but I don’t think I need the Foil Press. The added cost for the special dies makes me think the Minc and Foil Quill are all I need. I’d love to hear from you about this
Hello Tania! Yes, They are 2 different foiling systems. The "hot foil" systems have adhesive built into the foil that activates with heat. (ToDo, Press & Foil, FoilQuill, Glimmer system, & Foil Press). Most of these companies offer hot foil "dies" except for the quill which is basically a hot "pen". The other system is the Toner based foiling system in which the foil needs something to stick to because it does not have adhesive built in, like glue, texture paste, or toner prints (laser printed) which will activate when heated with the Minc or hot laminator. (Deco foil, minc foil, Creative vision stamps foil, Heidi Swapp foil, Brutus Monroe foil) The two different systems and can not be interchangeable in most examples.
@@NancyStamps Thanks for your response. Nancy. I do know that there are different types of foil. I have a Minc, have ordered the Foil Quill to use with my Cameo and Scan-N-Cut but was wondering if investing in the Gemini Foil Press would just be an overkill! I kind of think it might...
@@taniak7748 that's up to you Tania, the Foil Press is neat but requires special foil dies for the the designs. You can probably achieve a similar look with the FoilQuill.
How FunFUNFun! Mind reader! Yeahy, of course I've been ChompCHOMPChomping at the bit for HSN to get foil Quill back in stock for use with my BrotherScanNCut2. I missed the 1st round {currently outta stock} when it was ONLY $40-50 for the entire kit! Confounded. So now I've purchased a 9" Sovereigner Laminator & need Your Opinion on a great cheap laser printer?? And will remember to use high density or whatever you said, n I t normal print settings for best possible transfer. Thanks for Your fab tips! So will my Laminator work just like the Minc then? Sounds like yes! I'll buy only DecoFoil too. I know what'ch'ya mean bout the cheaper or inferior foils. I'd love to have an actual chart showing exactly which brands Are this +that, ya digg?? Shenanigans otherwise! That mandala is gorg right! You & Miss Lea are The Bestest Mommy Daughter Team EV. VER! LoveLOVELove! Thanks Nancy ~X💜X~
Thanks Shannan, instead of Deco foil, try Creative Vision Stamps foil. You get 25 feet on a roll and it's a better quality of foil. Make sure to let your laminator heat up for 20 mins or longer before using and you might need a paper shim under your printed item. As for a laser printer I got a cheap Brother for around $60 at back to school time. Thanks for watching & commenting! ❤
I do not have a mind machine so I purchased a laminator. No luck. The foil never transfers. I found.a great tip on You Tube. I print out my image on my toner printer, lay the foil on top and run it through the printer again. The image reprints on top of the foil and PERFECT results. Any idea why it doesn’t work with my laminator?
Patricia Burch the laminator needs to super hot and have pressure. Run it for about 30 mins to heat up and then fold a piece of paper as a carrier sheet and an extra piece of card stock under you printed image.
usually Sundays and Thursdays are my days off work, but whenever I feel like being crafty I try to film it for you guys. Click the bell icon to get notifications when I post new videos.
@@NancyStamps thanks like the fact its clear tho you can see if foil has moved might need to invest although I do quite like the quill foil results im getting compared to toner foil
You sent me a Christmas card that’s displayed on my TH-cam Celebrity board😉. Do I get one of those pretty cards too..hint hint Take care...love your videos 😊

They look beautiful. I think pulling of the foil to reveal the print is addicting, for me anyway.
Thank you for sharing. I got the usb and was afraid to try the quill so this is a great idea. Thanks
Excellent video. Thank you. Wishing you a super week. Hugs Susan
Congratulations Kathy!!!
I would love some of your beautiful cards.
Thank you! I was wondering if I could print them instead of buying the quill (may not have worked on my older, Cricut Expression) 👍🏽🙏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽

Bonnie Tait correct, laser printer
Thanks for showing us how to do the foiling on the Minc instead of the quill.
So FYI... this video was up side down... I turned my phone around so I could see it better but thought you should know! Congrats Kathy!
Yes TH-cam removed the turn feature, so I'll have to figure out how to correct it. sorry, I know it's annoying.
I love your videos- they’re so informative.
Beautiful..... Very informative
Love your videos and I hope you’re feels better....

Super video!
can you do this with foil quil foils
Yes
I went to the Creative Innovations website to look for the foils you use and they only had 12.5" rolls not the 6" rolls you use?
CreativeVisionStamps.com
Nancy Stamps Thank you so much for the quick reply:)
Thanks for sharing..

what is it you add over the card and foil normally I just use paper but the clear pocket looks better. Thanks
It's a Minc carrier folder. Regular paper does the same thing.

Do I get one of those pretty cards too..hint hint
Take care...love your videos 😊
Email me your mailing address again
But this is not new....nothing special. And you cant foil with a Laserprinter on leather, wood, some stickerfoils.
No the method is not new, the foil quill designs are new and some people haven't gotten their FoilQuill yet.
Congratulations Kathy!
