I produced music for defjam artist and that was my dream ..it is my dream...but it doesnt compare to the happyness you feel when you have a wife and some kids... and watching those kids grow and experiencing it all.
I wanted to cry when I was listening to the guy who invented uggs (I think it was uggs and he was elderly already) and he was married etc. his wife believed in him and his dreams and put her life on the back burner to help him succeed and when he did she finally wanted to enjoy life with him. Instead he said he didn’t want that anymore and left her. They remained friends because they had kids together and she remarried but you can see the pain and regret he has for abandoning his wife. Money makes life more enjoyable but it doesn’t replace love and family.

The man wouldnt be able to make that income if he was taking care of the children! Its so frustrating when all these men want housewives yet want women to take ALL the risk! Besides, there is a difference between working hard or being completely absent. No one wants to be a married single mother especially if they work too. My 20 y.o. invites her mom and I to concerts and movies all the time. It feels so awesome when she walks in and asks to watch tv with us. She and her little sister are the reason I gave up my business. I do miss my professional success, but I'm succeeding even more by raising them properly.

They will remember you based on the time they spent with you. The memories you formed together... if you spend no time with the people in your life, what will they remember you for? Nice cars? I’m a multimillionaire business owner but could have had much more money which I gladly sacrificed the extra money to spend a ton of time raising my daughter. No parent, mother or father, spent more time with their child than I did and because of that we are still extremely close even though she is all grown up with a daughter of her own. She recently told me that I was the perfect man, which I’m not, but I do think I was an awesome father and that means more to me than all the money in world. I don’t care how you rich you are if you aren’t a good parent you are a failure.

Yes, he always showed a lot of vulnerable honesty in his interviews.
Yet, he's still chasing the wrong direction. Often, sitting with oneself...listening deeply...is the hardest thing to do. So people fill it with every pursuit imaginable & still end up not content.
Content is being good with what is, now.

You don’t have to be a billionaire to regret working so hard. Plenty of people work too hard and don’t achieve that success. His kids will always be grateful to him in at least some ways for the comfort they will live in. The tragedy is when you worked your ass off and failed, and you didn’t get to see your kids and they didn’t at least get compensated with an above average standard of living, that’s the risk you run.
This is one of the best interviews I’ve seen in your channel. Even how cool he was and down to earth just letting you hop into his private jet.

@@darkpaw1522 this makes me so frustrated when I think about it. Poverty is a locked cycle and there’s not really any way around it besides shithouse luck. Poor people have so much less time. And that scale is comparable at all levels, poverty to middle class, middle to upper, etc. Someone who can afford a car will have way more time than someone who has to take the bus. Someone with a heated driveway can get an extra hour of sleep over the guy who has to shovel. Someone who can afford regular dental cleanings won’t need to get a root canal. I could go on for days. Money is time. And time is everything
