MarlinPie has been keeping the UMVC3 scene alive, making lobbies and commentating over people fighting and a bunch of old heads have featured on it. Because its casual a lot of the guys are running crazy low tier teams.

@@shyecity916 is not all capcom's fault to, there was something going on with Marvel's game division at the time too, wich all lead to a lot of Marvel games being removed from digital stores.

Capcom still cares for Marvel vs Capcom, Marvel on the other hand has the Marvel Cinematic Universe that makes billions of dollars so they don't need to make a crossover with a big game developer like Capcom to get more popular

In a series of tweets, Ryota Niitsuma revealed considered characters that didn't make the cut and why;
Multiple Man - Would've been too difficult for the engine to handle.
Cloak and Dagger - They had ideas for the pair, but felt that they would've visually clashed with assists. The game engine also couldn’t handle 2 character in 1.
Spiral - They wanted to bring her back, but she proved to be too much of a hassle to develop.
Psylocke - Felt that she wasn't popular enough.
Spider-Woman - Felt that she didn't have enough to differentiate herself playstyle-wise.
Squirrel Girl - It was a choice between her or Rocket Raccoon. The staff went with Rocket.
Loki - Heavily considered but Niitsuma didn't feel that he was right for a fighting game.
Vision - Niitsuma joked that he would've been "too powerful".
Mystique - Having a character who's main gimmick is changing their appearance was considered too difficult to develop in a fighting game..
Kingpin - Felt that he wasn't interesting enough.
Gill - He was "in the running roster till the end", but eventually cut for Nemesis, as they felt there were enough Street Fighter characters already. Also felt he wasn’t natural for the game’s speed.
Katt - The team wanted at least one female staff user, but Katt ended up being rejected as they felt she wasn't recognizable enough. Sonson and Mai-Ling were also considered, but cut for the same reason.
Arieta - The team was worried that she would affect the game's age rating. Rouge was cut for the same reason.
Anita - A grown up version of her was considered but Niitsuma felt this “went a bit too far”.
Ingrid - Niitsuma didn’t want her in.
Nina - Remained untill their very last cuts but Firebrand was pushed for over her, so the team went with him.
Blade - Felt he was too similar to Dante.
Gene - Wasn’t popular enough. Frank West took his spot, according to Niitsuma.
Soki - Was potentially considered, but the team felt he was too weak. The original Onimusha protagonist, Samanosuke was then considered as his replacement, but “rights issues” kept him from making it in.
Black Widow - Team felt she was too similar to other gun-based fighters. The Hood was cut for the same reason.
Carol Danvers - Too difficult to make her stand out next to her competing candidates.
Niitsuma also states he pushed for Tessa, but she didn’t make it in.
I overlooked this game all those years ago. Now it looks hype af and I regret not buying it earlier.

MvC3 has ALWAYS been a great game to come back to, you could always run a few games and have a great time each match, it’s the best game in the series imo
same, although MvC2 is the magnum opus of the series

Rival Schools in SF5 is the beginning (of the Cap-demption), but MAHVEL shall be forever!

The hate MVCI gets is waay outta control, but Im just a filthy casual, and a Monster Hunter fan. Having no mutants does suck though.

thats an understatement, MvC 3 had a lot OF HATE thanks to AngryJoe’s review, the notorious no Mega Man Boycott. A lot of normal features missing that Street Fighter 4 had, and the obvious Ultimate Marvel 3 buying again controversy.

I don’t think I’ve seen a Spencer pop so many Bionic Arms in one combo.
For Vanilla MvC3, the development team considered Phoenix Wright, Franziska von Karma, Silver Surfer, Juggernaut, Ghost Rider, all four of the Fantastic Four, most of the Darkstalkers cast (especially Jon Talbain and Donovan), Frank West, Doctor Octopus, Mega Man, Chuck Greene, a Monster Hunter, Fou-Lu and Strider Hiryu.
For Ultimate MvC3, Phoenix Wright, Ghost Rider, Frank West and Strider Hiryu finally made the cut, but the development team also considered Black Panther. And to top it all, all of them (sans Donovan, Jon Talbain and the Monster Hunter) made the cut as cards for the "Heroes and Heralds" mode.
We could have had von Karma in MvC3?! Foolish fools
Ghost rider, Nova, Dante, Amateratsu, Viewtiful Joe, the X-men, strider. The roster in this game really was something. Hopefully the next game can truly deliver on its roster.

watching two pros go at it in this game is so enjoyable there were so many times where I was sure a combo was done but nope they found ways to keep them going
If we ever get a MvC4, here's a list of stuff I want:
*Classic Stages & Music
*New Marvel characters like Punisher, Luke Cage, and some of the Fantastic 4
*New Capcom characters like Juri, Menat, Lady, and Leon
*Individual story mode like SF4
*Make Abyss playable
*Make new flashy hyper combos

MVCI had no chance compared to this.
I was literally playing this game for the first time in months with my friend last night. Despite the few gripes I have with the roster and balancing but this is still my favorite Marvel vs Capcom game. It was made with so much love everything about the presentation is amazing and it had so many new and unique things to offer to the franchise

Or they could just use rollback in this version of the game, so that old players don't need to buy again, repopulate the game and attracts more players, bought the game this week, but no servers, anyway paid 3 dollars for a good game with all characters that I may play someday with a friend
The great and Old Marvel vs Capcom 3, It's glad to be back.
I think if they remastered UMvC3 to next gen with some additional characters, and a balance change to infinites(spend a bar to break any and all combos including combo's using install supers, with the exception of non install regular supers) no more lightning loops and astral chain bullet hell(no meter gain while in an install super) and give every character a level 3 super(make that shit cinematic!) That would be great!
It's not a remaster if they completely rework the game.

Lol only a bar to break combos? That would make MVC boring as fuck. Two people running around spamming shit to build meter, one lands a hit, instant break-out because they know they'll lose a character, back to neutral again, rinse and repeat. You build meter so fast in this game that would be hella unreasonable. I've seen people build 3 bars in one combo, and that combo wasn't even an infinite.

It's fun, but incredibly frustrating to play online. You make ONE false move, and you get infinite comboed to oblivion, quite humiliating.
I play Haggar/Phoenix Wright/Frank West, and most times I'm damn good with that team. A full Team Aerial Combo that ends with Frank snapping a picture gives you a HELLUVA level-up with him.
Pretty sure that other guy's stream he mentioned was Marlin Pie's. Saw Max in one of his videos from a week or so ago. Speaking of MAHVEL, someone has told Max that MvC2 is on Fightcade now, right?

I'm sad that this game is such an unbalanced mess. It had a lot of potential, but at the end of its lifespan the matches just became boring to watch. You'd see the same 2 or 3 teams with no variation in how those teams played.
Especially in the big tournaments where everyone insists on playing the same blasted Training Stage _every single match...!!_ 😡
