The game still needs improvements, a lot of them, but I'm willing to give them a chance to see this is what we want, and support the new gameply style. It's more important to get the new gamestyle over graphics, yes. But I also don't understand people that don't want the most out of their game from a multi million dollar company.
I love Hisuian Voltorb, but I just realized with a hole on the top, it's literally the happiest bowling ball and I can't unsee it. It doesn't ruin the Pokemon, because the lore behind it is sad but mirrors how cruel people can be.
I mean, at this point many of the Hisuian pokemon will have tragic backstories. They were pushed to extinction by humans and no longer exist (or are very good at concealing their existance) in the modern day.
Maybe Hisuian Voltorb's origin is an example of human cruelty, but I can see why it got a reputation for being a pest, even if it was just trying to be friendly
It’s kind of a danger to everyone. It’s easily defused by plugging the hole. It’s a joyful Pokémon that’s oblivious to the danger it posses to everyone so it’s rejected by people. It’s harsh but you can’t have a ticking time bomb of electricity going loose in your town unsupervised especially in an age where most homes are made entirely of wood.

Theirs absolutely no way you’d be able to keep something as blissfully unaware as H Voltorb from not getting close. Theirs no feasible way to insulate every wild Voltorb so they best they can do is just temporarily keep them from going off and then remove them from the area.
I like how Hisuian Voltorb's facial expression looks like it's carved out of wood, really nice detail tbh Not sure if I'll be using him on my PLA team, but, we haven't seen what it evolves into yet so he could become even better lol
Something I find interesting about this form of voltorb is that the electricity specifically comes out of the hole on its top. This would mean that regular voltorb doesn't have a convenient way to output electricity, which would cause it to build up electricity until it explodes (according to Pokedex entries, it does so from even rolling over a bump). This might even be why regular voltorb looks so angry all the time. This would also explain why the data on Hisuian voltorb doesn't mention anything about exploding often. We see from the trailers that it _can_, but it's not especially known for it like regular voltorb.
@Ik Potentially. Electrode is certainly more powerful (55 special attack to 80), which could be explained by the more effective output method. That might just be due to the additional size and raw power though, so nothing's certain.
just because of this, i like voltorb even more now! and a nice detail in the anime, usually when a voltorb was owned and cared for in a good way in the anime, they seemed really friendly and nice, but would accidently let out electrical shocks, kinda like pikachu
I like how the common thread for Hisuian forms not existing later on is their mistreatment by humanity. For Hisuian Zoura and Zoroark, they quite literally exist _because_ of their mistreatment by humanity.
I was never a fan of the Voltorb line (mainly because I don't like Electrode) but Hisuian Voltorb looks kind of adorable. It's blocky eyebrows and happy eyes gives it a lot of charm. If Hisuian Electrode looks better than it's normal form, I just might use it on my team.
I didn't like Hisuian Voltorb at first but it MASSIVELY grew on me. At first it looked too happy/adorable (growing up seeing how angry Voltorb looks) but now I absolutely love the Hisuian form
also the hole in its head to discharge electricity is a nice touch, which explains why current day voltorb explodes, which is becuase it doesnt have that hole to discharge, so it literally builds up electricity without discharging, causing it to explode dangerously

Instead of why wondering a creature of nature can look like man made object, why not the argument being turned around? Voltorb are creatures that said to hang around in power plants to siphon energy. If people rarely seen them to the point of their sighting are first recorded after Pokeball factories, that means that their evolution was tied to these industrial complex where people rarely be in except to work and wont focus on them. Hisuian Voltorb evolved to its current metalic form as industrialization caused increase in electrical output. They slowly abandon their seed dispersal method and rely on their electrical ability to function. This turn them more metalic to better conduct electricity. Maybe pokeball design AND Voltorb was designed/ evolved like that because thats the optimal design to store Pokemon DNA in data form. In Voltorb this comes naturally since they are shaped like that, and maybe early poke ball designers would have more opportunity to meet and observed them since Voltorb are attracted to their high energy location. tl;dr - Voltorb evolved naturally to be more electically conductive to better suit the industrialization. The shape and coloration of Voltorb is optimal for storage. This form can be adapted by engineers who would've often seen them into the optimal design for modern Pokeballs.
I really like Hisuian Voltorb, the pure concept of him is just so interesting. I was actually think a few days ago what other grass and electric types are there besides Rotom Mow, and look what happened lol. Playing Platinum too btw, I had fun with BD but it lacked something so I decided to go back to Platinum to see what I though of it now.
I heard on twitter that another reason he goes from happy to cold is because he goes from a living creature to a metal husk, like a robot, a “shell” of his former self

The second animation seals the deal, where Voltorb tries too make up for it's mistakes. It's not just some obvious goofball they are genally kindhearted makeing it even more cruel what happens too them. Really hopeing we will be able too use them in future games.

He is just as good as kanto voltorb, and kanto voltorb is good. I really don’t understand why people hated the original voltorb anyway. I mean sure his design doesn’t have too much going for it, but it’s not supposed to, it’s supposed to camouflage into a pokeball.

kind of hoping it gets a new evolution, not just a hisuian electrode, mostly because i hate electrode and i would have less to make fun of it for if it got a better new form
At the moment, the eyes are what I think is off about Hisuian Voltorb, but over time, I think that will be nonexistent for me. Aside from that, fun personality like we saw in the short, and Electric/Grass is an interesting combo
I think the eyes are what stand out about it though. It feels like embossed wood with N64 angles like Porygon has. It makes it very cartoony looking in comparison to the rest of Hisui, but it still contextually fits the aesthetic and scenario.
I think Hisuian Voltorb might evolve into a Rock/Electric type (i'am thinking of the black Hisuian super ball that looks like obsidian or coal), not only to protect themselves against Flying type pokemon who loves berries, but also to protect themselves from people kicking them around like a ball, but we have yet to see the full game to know how the Hisuian variant will look like, this definitely makes me like the Pokemon universe's lore and creativity of the pokemon franchise even more!
I don’t hate this Pokémon. I just didn’t think voltorb’s design would be as adorable as it is. I finished my first play through with my torterra team, the elite four was tough, but beatable. The Cynthia fight was a nightmare, but the team pulled through, barely. I am now using Empoleon in my 2nd play through. I have 7 badges and I am at Mt. Coronet dealing with Team Galactic for the final time right now.
I think voltorb should go the cursola route and splint in half but instead of being a ghost the seeds inside of it grow into vines and split voltorb in half
voltorb is my tied favourite pokémon so hisuian voltorb is so good. i feel bad for them. i would endure electric shocks if it meant having a cute little round fellow as my friend its really sad that regular voltorb exists basically because people couldnt stand voltorbs

Losing grass type has nothing to do with evolving it has it's benefits and disadvantages. Electric/Grass typing makes Hisuian Voltorb weak to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Poison, but it makes it neutral to ground moves. It also resists Electric (4x), Water, Grass, and Steel
You know I actually just realised something about these Voltorb if you look at the climb where they are all around Akari you can actually see that some of the Voltorb are different sizes I don't if it's a gender thing or if the Voltorb just come in random sizes.
I like Hisuian Voltorb. But it makes sense why a rambunctious electrical ball would be very annoying. Also, I like that it is just another plant 'mon.
I love Hisuian Voltorb it's cute and it doesn't mean any harm. Gyarados and Gastrodon won't like it though. 😈😂

I think the eyes are what stand out about it though. It feels like embossed wood with N64 angles like Porygon has. It makes it very cartoony looking in comparison to the rest of Hisui, but it still contextually fits the aesthetic and scenario.

I think Hisuian Voltorb might evolve into a Rock/Electric type (i'am thinking of the black Hisuian super ball that looks like obsidian or coal), not only to protect themselves against Flying type pokemon who loves berries, but also to protect themselves from people kicking them around like a ball, but we have yet to see the full game to know how the Hisuian variant will look like, this definitely makes me like the Pokemon universe's lore and creativity of the pokemon franchise even more!

I don’t hate this Pokémon. I just didn’t think voltorb’s design would be as adorable as it is. I finished my first play through with my torterra team, the elite four was tough, but beatable. The Cynthia fight was a nightmare, but the team pulled through, barely. I am now using Empoleon in my 2nd play through. I have 7 badges and I am at Mt. Coronet dealing with Team Galactic for the final time right now.
Imma catch me some of those Voltorb and make a playthrough of the game that way
I think voltorb should go the cursola route and splint in half but instead of being a ghost the seeds inside of it grow into vines and split voltorb in half
voltorb is my tied favourite pokémon so hisuian voltorb is so good. i feel bad for them. i would endure electric shocks if it meant having a cute little round fellow as my friend

Losing grass type has nothing to do with evolving it has it's benefits and disadvantages. Electric/Grass typing makes Hisuian Voltorb weak to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Poison, but it makes it neutral to ground moves. It also resists Electric (4x), Water, Grass, and Steel
I mean if youre gonna have another pokeball might as well make a pokeball pokemon based on it

You know I actually just realised something about these Voltorb if you look at the climb where they are all around Akari you can actually see that some of the Voltorb are different sizes I don't if it's a gender thing or if the Voltorb just come in random sizes.
