Ghost pokemon can generally be divided into three categories: "Still Living", "Once Alive" and "Never Lived". "Never Lived" are Pokemon like Golurk, Banette or Runerigus, Ghost-Types who had life given to them by artificial and unnatural means. "Once Alive" are Ghost-Types like Spiritomb or Hisuian Zorua, who were alive at one point, but have since died, and that is what gave them the Ghost typing. Still Living are Ghost-Types that, despite what the name of the typing implies, aren't dead. Chandelure and Sableye are good examples of this, neither of them are dead, but they still have access to the same energy the other two categories do
The story of a Zorua being driven away by humans kinda sheds light on how N was not only able to befriend the Pokémon, but made it a staple of his team. N was never like other humans.
Hisuian Zorua is adorable, Hisuian Zoroark looks like something out of a horror movie. The creepy looking evolution doesn’t stop me from wanting one on my team though.
Haunter licks part of people's souls causeing them too shudder for the rest of their life, be this a slow thing that just makes life hell or a death march is not said.
I kinda like how this one has a built in reason we've never seen this form before. The regions of modern Pokemon are far more hospitable, it adapted (or failed to) specifically to this tough environment.
I think that the lore of Hisuian Zorua fits perfectly with both our history of hunting and killing witches and the already established fact that they are so rare.
"legends arceus is the most metal game we've seen from Pokémon" Pokémon colosseum literally open up with you blowing up a building killing everyone inside
XD doesn't open up with you blowing up a building. It opens up with Shadow Lugia carrying away a ship with all of the Pokémon in it to later be kidnapped and turned into Shadow Pokémon, and tossing the people out to sea and leaving them to die. Arguably darker than what Colosseum did, but probably not as metal as Colosseum's intro.
This is actually one of the few cases where they actually died as Pokémon instead of humans, a rare sight in the Pokémon lore! The "migrate" part is confusing, though... Always thought they were from Unova, though it feels unlikely, and Johto does seem like a fitting place like you said! I'm just happy we're getting forms after forms after forms!
Yeah, the humans dying and turning into Pokémon never felt right to me, but this seems like it works better. But yeah, I can’t get over how good the forms look for this game.
@@GatorEX maybe we can transfer them to bring them back if we successfully get them into a sort of storage capsule, and if we transfer our save file data, then that storage capsule may spawn in the world. That would be so cool
Certainly explains alot of plot points established in Pokémon Hisuian Snow. The fact that the Zorua which evolved into Zoroark in Alec's childhood genuinely did find trust within it and it's fellow allies, which explains why it helped and spared the rest of the humans instead of just keeping Alec alive.
I think what would be cool for this pokemon is make its ability similar to illusion, but different. Instead of disguising itself as one of your own pokemon, it can disquise itself as the enemy pokemon
This is pretty random but it’s kind of like if you were a spy In tf2, to disguise as your teammates to trick your opponent to thinking they are going to lose the fight or just make them run away. In pokemon it could just trick the enemy into switching or hitting a move that isn’t very effective, but I don’t think it could be that useful but fun to use
I saw someone comment this on another video about Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark, but there's this theory that the reason there are no wild Zorua and Zoroark in the Unova is because they were all banished to the Hisui Region.
Foxes, even domesticated ones (like the ones you find in sanctuaries or exotic pet markets, which is illegal) make terrible pets. So while it would be epic and very cute, it would probably be a very bad idea.
Everybody knows Pokemon can die. Lavender Town from generation 1 has a whole Pokemon graveyard. Cubone wears its dead mother's skull. Even in the Pokemon anime touches on death, Stoutland from sun & moon for example.
I mean all ghost pokemon are dead something. I like that this went the corsala route. becoming a dead version of the pokemon rather then just a new ghost pokemon. I like this concept for ghost pokemon allot, meaning some ghost pokemon in pokemon are based on humans and some are based on pokemon themselves which really follows the pokedex entries throughout the games.
I wonder if we will have an story encounter with Zorua or will it just be out in the wild Indefinitely wanna befriend one but yeah won’t be easy at all this is what I like I want it to be like our encounter with Calyrex in SW/SH as in story building but have it be hostile but then come to trust us more later on. I thought that guy ran away but reading that entry again Zoroark attack the inside and outside of others bodies yup he’s an goner 😨😨😨😨
For the most part, I respect the lore. It’s definitely a step up from most ghost types and that’s pretty cool But I feel they pushed the edginess a bit too far with this one. I don’t know they expect me to take zorua’s lore seriously after telling me it has malice for all other living beings after looking at it for two seconds. I’m sorry I just can’t, it just looks like it needs a hug.
Humans really do suck sometimes. As you can see from my pfp, these are my favorite pokemon and I think they're beautiful. So it sucks that they can't be interacted with.
Probably while trying to adapt from dark to some kind of ice typing zorua turned into a normal type as an intermediary state but then went extinct due to constantly dwindling populations due to getting outcompeted because they weren't adapted to the ice as well adapted to ice as ice type Pokémon

And I honestly wouldn't mind it and probably love it given that fact that I'm act 5'7 in real life and Zoroark is around 5'1 and still bipedal and has posable thumbs and would most likely be able to consume foods and drinks meant for humans and possibly still retaining some memories of a past life.
