This recording sounded a bit harsh. Does it seem that harsh in person?

I think if the guy had attached a cord from the line out or headphone output, and put it into a USB audio interface (which then goes into the computer) you'd hear the real sound which is likely much better, judging from a couple of other videos I've seen of the same machine.

On some machines there is a "train" sound and I notice on this one and some others that there is "rides" sound. Does rides mean trains? It sounded like a train when you pressed the button. What I would like to know is if it says "rides" are there going to be other ride sounds such as a car, etc. I am hoping only for trains. Wish more machines had that sound and less of the crickets. Nightmare would be the sound of pigeons. Hope you can answer. Thank you for your demo.

If you still need an answer to your question (or anyone else is interested), the "Rides" category includes Plane Ride, Car Ride, Train Ride, and Paddle Boat Ride. The Train Ride sound (at least on the Sound+Sleep Mini, I don't have the SE but based on the online manuals I've found I think it's the same) includes the click-clack sound you hear in this video as well as some horns and bell ("ding ding ding") noises. I think the original Sound+Sleep machine has the full "Trains" category where you can select different train sounds. More train sounds on more sound machines would be nice!
