I live in an apartment complex with neighbours who live below and above me. For almost 2 years the constant sounds of loud voices, doors slamming, footsteps, things dropping etc drove me to the point of insanity. I purchased a Lectrofan a few weeks ago and it has literally changed my life. I can no longer hear those knocks, thuds and bangs as the white noise drowns it all out and it has literally improved my quality of life as I can now focus on things, not having to worry about when I will hear the next thud. This is perfect for people who suffer from misophonia.

This is basically me right now maybe I should get a white noise music I've been wearing earplugs for literally years but I need to get off of them now.. maybe this is an option. Earplugs are extensive too.
I have the same issue with my neighbours. I honestly believe if I kill them that shouldn't be something I should be blamed for. They are driving me insane and I don't mean that in a figurative way of speaking. I haven't had a good night sleep in years. Like boom drrum rrapp drrap. Every fucking night till 3 Am which is why I am looking for sound isolation and stuff. Like people like them shouldn't live in buildings with neighbours above or below. Let the animals sleep in the forest. Who brought the bear in for fuck sake. I am going crazy.

I've recently been using my google home speakers to play the sounds of rain. It also has a ton of various sounds it can play from fans to white noise to nature. I didn't know what I was missing until I decided to try it out. It really does help immensely!

Some people need sounds so that other sounds just blend in with it, and aren't as harsh on the ears when sleeping. It's a really good device. If your able to sleep in pure silence wherever you are with no fan, no air-conditioning, no traffic, no trains, then good for you. But 9 times out of 10 I doubt anyone would get those perfect conditions.

I don't know why anyone would buy this, instead of just getting a Bluetooth speaker and hooking it up to a phone or whatever with TH-cam open, playing 10 hour white noise videos of thousands of different types and frequencies. This thing is much more expensive than the average Bluetooth speaker, and you're stuck with the settings it comes with. You can't use whatever sound you want like with a regular Bluetooth speaker

Every night ~8 hours using average fan (between 25-75w) cost yearly about $17.53 (used 50w to calculate).
Meanwhile Lectrofan (0.0025 kWh) uses yearly about $0.87.

For someone like my mom who has tinnitus, this is amazing. We cycled through the frequencies and she found two that she really likes and you can see the relief on her face. $50 is worth that and so much more. And yes, I'm aware that "an app can do that!!11!". Okay. If the apps worked for her, obviously she wouldn't use the lectrofan.
I have one of these in each of my kid's rooms. They seep through the night and we don't have to be overly cautious of how much noise we make also. 2 thumbs up!

He said that you can find them and that you can find apps but they have a point where the sound is not infinite and its just a cut so it playes from the beginning. yup. that's why I own one of these. this is a really good product, but i prefer the natural air sound machines.
These sounds actually trigger my tinnitus and hyper acusis.
That said.. Every tinnitus is different.

@@FatlBushida I mean do you hear a ringing noise in your ear when it is completely silent? Then you would have tinnitus, that's how I realized one day and it's never stopped since. Somedays are worse then others depending on if I was say at a concert or somewhere really loud. Other days it's just a slight ringing.

@@ashleytee8105 I haven't tried it yet. So far, I have only used 2 fans to try and block the neighbors noises and they work ok, but certain noises still pass through. Bass is the worst of them all. I'm living in paradise.
I use the "Micro" version of this when I travel and it's awesome. I have allergies so I always have the fan sound of my HEPA air filter at home - but when I travel, this kind of thing is awesome for making it easier to sleep in potentially noisy motel rooms, etc. And if you think it makes more sense to haul around a box fan instead of a device about the size of a tennis ball - you're crazy.
And yes, the fact LectroFan's tech avoids having a repeat point does make a HUGE difference compared to any option that has that kind of glitch.

I run a fan, if it's cold just angle it away from me, I have it connected to a smart plug connected to my Google Home and then I just have set a timer in the app to turn the fan off after something like 5 hours or so. Works pretty well.

As soon as I get some xtra $$ money I might buy. I've been having so much trouble trying to even fall asleep after my father passed away before Christmas. It's like I'm afraid to fall asleep or something. I'm soooooooo tired during the day and on my days off I fall asleep during the day however , night is another story. I might actually get this .

I'm very sorry for your loss. As someone who suffers with insomnia, not being able to fall asleep because of being afraid of not being able to fall asleep is very common. Mindfulness helped me a TONNE and stopped me from worrying about sleep on the run up to bed time. You have to stick with it, though. It took me about a month of on/off insomnia to see any difference. I also purchased a DowDow (Amazon it) which is a handy little sleep gadget which, although it's quite expensive for what it is, is terribly good for helping perform mindfulness during a bout of insomnia and help you drift off. I hope you find some relief soon.

I bought it last year. It was 35$ at the time. It's honestly very useful if you live in an appartment. My neighbours never sleep and keep making so much noise at night. Without it I wouldn't be able to sleep.
At first you'll find it very irritating. But you'll get used to it with time.
People will tell you that you can just play a white noise video on your speaker instead of buyingthe machine. However, these videos have a loop ( while this machine doesn't). Also, you can adjust the white noise on this machine so you can make make it non irritating specifically for you. Before I bought it, I legitimatelly tried white noise on a speaker. It wasn't working at all for me...

@@1337Jogi If you live in regular apartments/buildings with walls too thin, you can hear pretty much everything your neighbors are doing, most especially when you are sleeping. MOST MOST especially for people who work night shift, trying to sleep during the day with neighbors who have multiple kids...
If you can't sleep because of your loud neighbors/other ambient sounds, most of time its either too hot for a heater to drown out the noise and too cold for a fan/ac unit.
This device simulates those sounds and more without making you too cold or hot.
Hopefully that explains it well enough.

Although this may help you at first.. there will be times you dont have this then you wont be able to sleep because you are so used to it.

I can't sleep too in silence. Even the fan running sound is too silent for me. Need something playing in the background. But not music. Usually what I do is keep a 1 hour podcast playing in the background and about half way through I fall asleep peacefully.

My guess is that it's evolutionary. If you hear rain on a roof, you are protected from the elements. People who are sheltered from rain are more likely to survive.

Honestly the best sound helps me sleep well is your voice. That’s why every night I watch your videos and then I fall asleep in unconscious. Don’t make me wrong is your review boring. Somehow your voice is the right frequency wave for me. Unbox therapy is my sleep therapy ☺️☺️☺️.

We have one in every room. We used to use the mechanical noise makers, but the motors would wear out over time and we'd have to replace them. These have been rock-solid going on several years now and everyone sleeps better with these on. Parents with small children taking naps need these in their lives.
I've had one for 3 years after trying others. It is the only way I can sleep now. We take it with us to hotels which is a MUST to block out hallway parties, noisy people, elevators, ice machines, door slams, and "other" things you don't want to hear in your hotel room.
Cana Dude I'm sold. I wake up at ppl slamming doors, partying, etc. Sleeping less than 6 hrs of day has taken a toll on my immune system/health and "beauty" sleep. It makes you age faster:/

I thought I needed total silence. But I started using a sound machine a couple years ago and it has been the best thing ever. I 100% agree with this video.
2:54 Airplane cabin is my favorite!!!! who else loves having a nice restful sleep on the plane with the natural sounds of an airplane!
*Ding-dong* = service calls or pilot announcements, *thump - thump - thump* = someone putting there tray up, *pow - crack* someone getting there luggage from the storage cabinet! *WoOoSH* high-powered toilets... but they are very subtle and fast so its not a disturbance sometimes I can tolerate baby crying but if its distant, its sounds nice because its like loud but far away... and welp I think that sums it all... Airplane rides are hand down the best thing ever....

Well sleeping is nice but you can't clear your ears when changing altitude.. whenever I sleep through a 2 hour flight and wake up my ears are ruined for the day.. painful....

Only a 60 minute timer?No thanks, $20 box fan accomplishes same thing, goes all night, plus I get an added cooling breeze...a necessity in South Florida. Been using a box fan over 20 years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have had this same machine for a few years now. It is wonderful if you live in a apartment and can hear your neighbor snore. Just turn on the machine and it drowns it out. I too love the fan sounds.
