- Let's take a look at the new MJX Hyper go 10208 1/10 Scale monster truck RC Basher! Will this be able to take on the Arrma Granite and Team Associated MT10 for the king of 1/10 scale RC Budget Bashing?

MJX is getting better with their RCs. Esp for the price
Yeah I'm really curious to see how this one is!
A lot of people asked for a bigger model. I think it's going to do very good.
Yeah this is going to be one of those rare actual 1/10 scale vehicles. Most of the Amazon special 1/10 scale vehicles are actually 1/12 scale. I'm looking forward to it! Standing backflips out of the box looks fun.
Same here . Like that rlaarlo Omni terminator but maybe a little bigger
@Hungrybird474 Yeah it's actually going to be a fair amount larger than the OT.
Funny I just mentioned on a fb feed the other day that once Mjx bring out a 1/10 scale truck Arrma and Traxxas are gonna be in for a surprise. And here we go. If it anything like their smaller scales it’s gonna be a beast. Let’s see. Still waiting for their crawler to hit the market too. Keep up the good work looking forward for you to take this one to bits 👍
Yeah I'm looking forward to their crawler and the one from rlaarlo
This looks dope, cant wait to see a full running review
Yeah I'm really looking forward to it!
Wow on paper this sounds good, hope to get one and try it out 👍👍
Same here!
Same here 🤙🤘👊🚀💪
I returned my H14BM because it was uncontrollable. MJX going larger scale is def the right move.
That was my biggest problem with it as well. It's too much power for how sloppy the handling is. Hopefully this one will be better.
Man the RC world is lighting up!. Can't wait to check this out. I think that others will be introduced soon as well .
Bring it! Thank you!
Agreed. Love to see new platforms!
I hope these smaller, newer companies keep making bigger rigs that don't sacrifice the power and durability their small ones are known for. After this 8th scale, then 5th! Give the big boys a reason to get the engineers busy
I agree. As long as these companies stay making little cars I don't think they're going to gain real traction. They need to make vehicles that compete with the bread and butter of the big brands.
Can't wait for it to come out 👍👏👍👏
Me too!
So looking forward to this
Looks like a pretty solid truck 👍
It's difficult to tell from the information we have so far how good it's going to be but it definitely has potential. Anything that can handle standing backflips and jumps like that has to at least be halfway decent.
Love it!! I can't wait.
Same here I'm looking forward to checking it out!
I remember seeing self-righting from traxxas years ago and when I got back into RC cars(after 20 years in helicopters and drones) the feature hadn't been widely adopted with traxxas seemingly abandoning it. I assumed it must have been bad for the diffs or something, but I'm lazy and do it myself on my cheaper cars like the Hyper Go and it's million variants. Good to hear I'm not the only one, though I would like a board with gyro that the esc plugs into, and then has two signals going from rx to the board. This way I can flip a switch on radio and the car will self right.
Yeah I prefer to do it manually just because I think most of the breakage is occur when one wheel hits the ground and creates a big shock load through the system. I don't feel like the automatic systems are able to account for this but you can if you're doing it by hand.
@DoRC Seems like Traxxas could've implemented current detection and dropped the throttle well before a human could react. I can imagine scenarios where it's laying on its side with two wheels touching or on an incline where code shouldn't allow it to execute an attempt. I would think you could briefly burst the motor with a brake that's not too aggressive initially, and have the accel setup with a dead zone that would need to be calibrated based on the length, body and tire size. Seems like it could be done fairly safely, even more so with current sensing.
Looks like in that leaked footage it doesn’t want to land big jumps because it bounces to much just like there smaller cars. But a larger car from mjx is still exciting, competition is great for this hobby it just makes everything better
Yeah that might be a shock tuning thing though. And to be fair I'm not sure of anyone 10th scale car that can land from 20 ft in the air and not bounce
That is pretty cool to see! Hyper Go is also stepping up their game and getting replacement parts available in the jungle. I own a H16BM and it is a really good way to get friends into the hobby since not everybody wants/can drop $300+. I wonder what price point this guy will come in at.
It's hard to tell. A direct euro conversion puts it at around 275 but I don't know if the site that I got that price tag off of is accurate or if it includes VAT or not. I think 250 to 275 seems like a reasonable price and if they can keep it towards the 250 side a lot of people will probably be interested. This is a lot of truck and assuming it can actually handle the power I think it's going to be pretty desirable.
@@DoRC First pre-order, at the beginning of February, from S-Idee was €229 including taxes in Germany. Then there was a short deactivation of the pre-order and after that the price was 259€. Since yesterday the pre-order has been deactivated again.
I hope it comes out soon, I made a pre-order right after it was published at S-Idee 😉
Big SUB🎉
Big thanks!
OHHHH MYY GOOOOD IM EXCITED ASF!
I have MJX hyper go 16208, and that thing is soo freaking durable and fast! (I've converted it to 3s btw)
I really wanted to have a good big rc basher, but as I live in Russia - Arrma is not the best solution because of the spares
so if this thing is gonna be durable - I'm sellig my Arrma Kraton 4s v2 and buying this monster!
Yeah we'll just have to see how it goes once I get my hands on one!
@@DoRC yeaaahhhsss!
thanks man, without you I wouldn't have known all the leaks😁🤟
Look like a better truck than the Granite for sure, I will resale my Rlaarlo omni terminator and buy this one :) Thank you !
Yeah we'll see. The OT is a really nice truck though.
Thats not to say the arrma granite is even bad either, its usually in top 2 along with ta mt10 of 10th scale monster trucks
What's your thoughts on putting the metal exb diff housing and diffs with 80k from kraton exb 6s v2 in the fireteam. I want to do it but I don't see anything on TH-cam about it. I want to do it but I'm worried about it changing the way the fireteam drives.
It should be fine. The latest EXB front and rear differentials are not limited slip so that's not a factor anymore. The thicker differential fluid will definitely affect how it handles but you can always just put thinner fluid in it if you don't like it. Diff fluid tuning is a very personal thing and what works will depend on your bashing style and how sensitive you are to those sorts of things.
My spidey senses point to Arrma poised to drop a revised Granite this year anyway. Per Tomley, the Granite was discontinued in the UK a while back and Horizon just had a sale on them at $260.
Yeah it's entirely possible. That being said I'm not sure the revised versions going to come with a bunch of metal and a center differential. We'll see though!
@@DoRC my prediction: Center Diff, Black Electronics, new Body Colors, 25t Servo/Servosaver in black, hopefully reinforced Chassis by the Steering (like Arrma 4s v2.5), maybe metall diffs. Price increase 50-100 dollar.
Granite BLX is back in the UK in Green colour only but yeah I expect a revamp of all the older 3s blx vehicles, maybe they will just ditch 3s and just have 4s blx lineup
@@Luke-en2tk maybe though I'm not sure they would be willing to create competition for their own products like that.
@@DoRCyeah but Hobbywing have moved the ESC game on again. The difference in cost between a 3s and 4s ESC for 1/10th vehicles is very little. And if they are going to a centre diff surely they have to upgrade the diffs as well as they are pretty poor they may as well make it 4s
Hopefully it's epic!
I hope so!
😜
I was wondering I want to put a max8 combo in my arrma outcast 4s do you think that it would fit?
I know the ESC will and I'm pretty sure the motor will. I think I've done that before.
@@DoRC thanks that help a lot!
Is the esc on this a more powerful version of the same brand of esc thats been on their other hypergo's, or is it a different brand (if you know)?
seems to be from Angry Snail, but dont know if its the producer
I'm not sure. I know it's definitely going to be a different ESC and it looks kind of different but it could be from the same brand.
I've seen that angry snail brand on a couple of batteries from MJX. Is that not their own internal nomenclature?
Is this actually going to be a true 1/10 scale like the mt10 or a "mini 1/10" like the rlarrlo omni terminator? Won't be very compelling if its smaller...
No this is true 1/10 scale. It is going to be within a few millimeters in all dimensions of the granite
Nice i have the 2x 😂 hyper go rallies which is an awesome value so will definitely be following this release.
Hopefully they start keeping stock on spare parts, and update the website. I followed the link on the card included with my H16BM and most of the site's pages were empty
Yeah that seems to be a theme with Chinese companies like this. They don't put a whole lot of effort into their online presence or a lot of times into customer support.
If something sells even halfway well, the accessories market in China springs up of its own accord, so the manufacturer hardly has to do anything, like for example with the 1:16, 1:14 🙂
@andreasw.3137 very true though I think at least a lot of people here in the US don't really consider the aftermarket to be supporting if it isn't coming from companies like M2C.
Arrma plastic diffs suck once I upgraded the front/rear/center my Typhon 3s is a beast 👍
I've never really had much of a problem with the stock plastic differentials but of course metal is better :-)
@@DoRC stripped all three stock diffs
I bet it’s Gonna handle horribly just like the H14. I returned mine for that reason. Now back on the search for a $200-$300 dirt, grass, rough terrain basher. Any recommendations? Thinking about getting into a redcat blackout.
I would skip the cheaper redcats. They're not very good and are really old designs. The Rlaarlo Omni Terminator is really good for a smaller RC
Any idea when this will be available? Is it all plastic or does it have aluminum chassis?
Not sure. I've heard a couple people saying May or June and I believe it will have a plastic chassis.
According to current information, delivery should be in mid-June, yes it has a plastic honeycomb chassis, similar to Traxxas, more details at MJX Homepage
Lol sounds like something that gets delayed and delayed and not released
@@blaircooper9956 The possibility of pre-ordering and availability was probably announced a little too early at S-Idee, even before there was any indication from MJX. But if I have no problems other than complaining about delayed releases, I must be fine 🙃
First Unboxing is on YT aviable
Saw that. Not too much more information unfortunately but good to see.
Ok, I'm gonna say it first. 1/10 MT class is overcrowded. Also as a user of a 7-8kg servos, I can assure you that those are for 1/16 or 1/14. If you want to go for 1/10 295mm wheelbase you just need at least 15kg 0.12sec. That is the minimum for 1/10. And I don't get it how and why one of the 1/16 7-8kg servos ended up in Granit that's 3kg of RTR weight. And yes, 35kg is an overkill for 1/10, so some questions to MJX as well.
Maybe. In my book there are only two and a half real contenders. The granite / big rock, MT-10 and then maybe whatever Traxxas has nowadays. What other 1/10 scale monster trucks are you including?
@@DoRC Quantum2. Stampede 4x4.
@n00b247 oh yeah I forgot about the quantum 2. The original quantum didn't really count for me but apparently the quantum 2 is a lot better.
I'm still rocking my pro mt 4x4😅 but spares are a problem...
May be overcrowded, but if they can do better than whats out there, than they could do better (free market competition), or at least try.
wow, if this is going to be as durable as their small models and have the performance in this video it's gonna change the RC industry.
I'm not sure it'll change the whole industry but it could definitely help introduce hyper go to some new people.
If the granite is in trouble with this release, the poor Rival mt10 has got be terrified 😆
Maybe. Some say that the MT-10 is better than the granite.
My mt10 ain't scared!!!!!!!!!😂
@Colemanator989 MT-10 is a sweet truck
Maybe the V3 will have more than a body change and an "exhaust" delete lol
@@DerbyCityRCthere is already an updated ESC you just have to know where to look, and with their new FlySky partnership it makes sense that the MT10 and MT8 will get an update soon
@DoRC you followed up the heads up i gave you on this 👍
Absolutely. I follow up on all these things. Thanks for the info.
No problem bro. Great video ✌️

If they don't skip out on handling then this could easily compete with the granite
Yeah I think that'll be the big deciding factor. We shall see!
Well good on them for trying to compete, I mean who doesn't want to own something that does standing backflips right out of the box right?
Exactly and if the drive train can actually handle that it means it can't be too weak.
If it's true 10th scale I'm definitely getting one been looking overseas to pre-order 😅
According to their specifications it should be. It's going to be about a half inch more narrow than the granite but all the other dimensions are basically the same.
@DoRC I do love the platform honestly and 10mm hex extensions will definitely fix that shorter wheelbase or offset wheels
@jprckorner Even 5 mm extensions will make the width equal to the granite.
Ого! Это же потрясающе! После своей mjx 14210 мне очень хотелось увидеть от mjx масштаб 1/10 и это свершилось!) Скорее бы в России появилась возможность купить!
The 10208 isn't released anywhere yet. If MJX cars are normally available there I'm sure this will be too.
@@DoRC Говорят можно по предзаказу на одном сайте купить.
Only S-Idee in Germany has preorder aviable. Edit: Frontline Hobbies in Australia follows with preorder
When will it be on sale?
it is assumed that it will be around mid to the end of June, pre-order is at some stores possible
Unfortunately no one knows just yet. There are some guesses but no firm dates.
Any idea on the release date ?
Nothing solid yet. I've heard May and I've heard June but those are both just rumors.
Hey, is this going to be a "true" 1/10 scale of just a glorified 1/10 scale like our Omni Terminator?
This will be true 1/10 scale. Most dimensions are basically the same as the granite though it will be about 0.4in more narrow.
My local Hobby shop manager confirmed without confirming lol, Arrma is dropping something new soon, probably updated street onroad bashers, he cant outright tell me for obvious reasons. Your thoughts? You are becoming my go-to, your channel is outstanding, but i still cant stand Traxxas lol.
@spenn2007 Well it has been a little while since they dropped something new and I was kind of expecting something this week or last week so I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see something soon. What that is is really hard to predict.
I will wait until you buy it because the teardown is always essential to know if you can abuse by putting more power
Stay tuned!
YESSSSS!!
Can't wait to get mine!
Me neither!!😊👍
its on MJX hompage, most what you can see in the videos, but little bit more detail
Interesting. It wasn't there the other day. Still doesn't seem to be available though.
@@DoRC they said may 🙂
I find the 2 cars a bit strange, which only differ in the color of the body?
@@andreasw.3137 Yeah I'm guessing they just have two different part numbers and so they just end up getting listed separately but they appear to be the same vehicle. The only thing it looks like I got wrong in my videos that batteries are not going to be included.

Me too!
How does granite only be capable of 3s with 100a yet this one support 4s with the same 100a esc
It's not the same ESC. It's 100 amps but it's a different ESC
@@DoRC i see people running 4s on Infraction 3s stock esc which is also 100a spektrum like the granite. It works but not recommended.
Interesting! Hopefully they upgrade their crappy radio
Based on the pictures it looks like at least the transmitter is going to be the same unfortunately.

It's all hex (Allen)
@@-Astro-- Nice! Do you know if it's machine screws or self tappers?
Machine screws (edit some plastics may have corse screws)
How are mjx? I notice they're alot cheaper than the competition. I got an mjx on sale and blew the motor in ten minutes. I planned on upgrading it anyway. I got half the money back too haha. Amazon wouldn't honor a return on an scx10 ii so I just buy stuff now and send back old stuff they owe me 300 so I dgaf.

Is this out yet or it’s coming out soon ???
Coming out hopefully soon. I don't know exactly when
possibly mid June, in addition to S-Idee Germany it is now also listed in Australia on Metro Hobbies, with the note "coming soon" 🙃

I haven't really had any problems with the drivetrains on mine. Are you running stock power and tires?
@@DoRC I initially burned the gear with bigger tires on 3s. Problem is that once the self tap screws are removed, the plastics won't go back together tight because the holes stripped. Then the gears get loose and break again. Just have to get a new one
Take away repairs and upgrades, that's 2/3 of the hobby for me
@@GemFarmer76 Yeah self tappers aren't the best. I think this will have machine screws so that should be better
If this thing has that awful ESC with the throttle lag on it, it’s dead on arrival for me
Yeah it'll be interesting to see. Obviously it's going to be different from what they've been using before but who knows if it'll be better or not.
Don't believe there is a 3970 motor. This is a 3670 with cooling fins. But its still longer than the granite's motor.
Maybe. Im just going off of what the images I found say.
We'll see, but the 3670 is also comparable to the Hoss/Maxx. maybe a 4070 with a smaller case, or 3670 with thicker copper cable? who knows 😀
@andreasw.3137 Yeah we'll see. In the pictures the motor looks fairly big but it's hard to tell.
I dont suppose there is a release date
Not that I'm aware of. Someone else mentioned May but they don't have anything on their site yet about release dates.
on Douyin in one video from MJX there is talk of "see you in May"
@andreasw.3137 ah
Phillips or hex head screws? Not sure if it was mentioned.
🤘🏼🤘🏼
Not 100% sure because it's all renders but in the renders they are hex.
Hex
Like you said whether or not this is gonna be good depends on how easy it is to work on and how well it handles because those are 2 things mjx has always failed at

Most people including myself have generally pretty good luck with the hypergo vehicles. They are a pain to work on though. We'll have to see about this one!

For $280.00 this things going to be a bargain. From what i can see
Hopefully. I'm just guessing at that price but I think it sounds fairly reasonable.
Mjx has been producing drones for years and have now moved in to cars they have a plan obviously and there offerings so far on the smaller platforms are the same so they can keep offering parts, nothings going to change, same with the newer larger one's, can i see them going any larger than 1/10.. probably not, but who knows. But what i do know is mjx is here and here to stay. ✌️
Yeah this actual 1/10 scale offering definitely seems to indicate that they are serious about RC cars. There are very few manufacturers outside of the big names that have produced a real full size 1/10 scale car. I'm excited to get this.
Some times generic is better 😊
Cost wise certainly :-)
Hope they're wrong about the control range lol
"Top speed; 80km/h"
"control range: 60 - 80m"
80 km/h = 22.22 m/s
You'll outrun your transmitter range in 3 seconds, maybe 5 if you dont hit the ground running 😂
It'll probably go a little bit further than that but 80 m is almost the length of a football field which is pretty far for a radius around you to be driving an RC car.
@DoRC that's true, it just sounded off. I was sure those cheap transmitters did way better ranges than that? Not so sure now
@@insanebmxthomas I don't know. I haven't had a transmitter run out of range within practical bashing distance in quite a while. I think unless you're doing speed running or for some reason or driving really far away from yourself it probably won't be a problem.
@@DoRC I think I saw something like 100-120 m on one of the China sites (Bilibili or Douyin).

I have no idea why people are obsessed with clipless body’s
If done properly they can be extremely convenient and personally I like the internal structure that the clipless systems usually require as it reinforces the body.
I don’t know what’s wrong with just putting four clips in plus the body won’t fly off.
Cause pins are absolutely annoying. And major fail point on the body breaking. Time. Countless reason really.
Time? Time? Do you not have 10 seconds to put in some pins and if your ripping the pins though then get washers.
@@RcSpeedFreak-kk8wj sure clips only take a little bit more time than eclipse system but if the clipless system is done right it's essentially superior in every way. Why wouldn't you want something that is superior?
I mean the granite and the rest of the ARRMA 3s line were never a good buy. The plastic ring and pinions are down right insulting, and the slipper clutch is made out of the worst metal I’ve seen. The fact they had the audacity to not only release the 4x4 line like that after the massive flop of the BXL85 lineup but still sell it today is absurd. It sucks because on the whole I think the chassis is actually quite good and handles well, especially the big rock 3s, and it’s very strong IF it’s equipped with metal gears like they finally did with the 4s line.
Yeah that's probably down to personal experience. I've had probably a half a dozen 3S platform vehicles and I've had great experiences with all of them.
👍👍👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
Thanks for watching :-)
Hopefully they're doing hex hardware. The current MJX hardware is the worst and to me it's the biggest reminder that's it's still a cheap Chinese RC. I'm hoping they follow up with a true 1/10 buggy.
The renders show hex hardware so I'm assuming it will be but we'll just have to wait and see. I really hope so too
Looks way over powered for a 1/10th truck, it takes away driveability and will put more wear and tear on everything especially the drivetrain components
I suspect that was on 4S. If you run it on 3s it'll probably be a lot tamer.
@@DoRCyeah not sure you need a bigger motor than a 3660 in a 1/10th platform, be good to see how it runs on 3s

I can’t stand the MJX H16BM you buy it for a $100 then you spend that replacing the ESC RX cause transmitter sucks and the hige throttle delay. Then the parts. New diff $20, Spur and out drive as a set $20. I have two MJX H16BMs and both failed at same parts the Diff and Outdrive gears. Then there’s the excess play on the wheels. Just put the price of the car back into it making it workable.
Then there’s the **** hardware. Like 15 different bolts and 39 screws to get to the diff. ANNOYING TO WORK ON.
Overall not worth it. I don’t expect this to be better.
I agree with all that. That's pretty much what I said in the HB14 video but that doesn't mean this one won't be good. We'll just have to see!
New diff for $20 is "normal" for 1/16. Some can get up tp $30. But if you want a good 1/10 diff its gonna cost you up to $90 easy.
@n00b247 90 seems a bit steep for a 1/10 scale differential.
@@DoRC xray xb4 ball. part number 365000.
@@n00b247 okay well that's kind of outside of the realm of normal cost. For instance a complete differential for a granite costs $13 on Jenny's. Most 1/10 scale differentials are going to be less than $40.

@@-Astro-- Yeah maybe so.
Im done with MJX HYPER GO RC. fast and tough RC But as i said the handling is horrible !!
Yeah their lower powered cars are actually pretty good It's just when they try to put too much power into a platform that isn't precise enough to handle it that they run into trouble. Stay tuned though I'll be getting one of these as soon as it's available and I'll let everybody know how it is :-)
The problem with these chinese companies except rlaarlo. Is they obviously try to copy the looks of other brand bodies and looks. If ur rc looks like a kraton like you go as a far as making the headlights red shaded like the exb. Thats just lazyness. The issue with these cars will always be that they are off branded and sub part to branded rc cars. Part support will be an issue, parts quality and durability. This is the reason im never going to get a chinese cheapo rc ever again. Tried two wltoys and they break because of how insanely cheap they are made.
In my opinion, you shouldn't throw everyone together, where do Arrma, Traxxas and others produce? 😄I also have a WL and find the quality of the MJX to be better
@@andreasw.3137 im talking about the design. MJX is a chinese company from china. Arrma is based in the UK and their manufacturing is in china. Traxxas operates in texas and makes their rcs in taiwan
To some degree yes. They do copy things a bit but I think that's to be expected. Parts support definitely isn't as good as the first party brands but usually it's not too bad.
The more modern Chinese models are a lot better than the old WL toys ones were so it might be worth another look
Everybody but Traxxas is made in China and Traxxas is made in Taiwan but having your products made in China and being a completely Chinese company aren't necessarily equivalent. The support you get makes a big difference
Arrma in the mud smh
Eh?
Very fast RC but handling is terrible on 3S battery!!
You have one?
@DoRC I do !
On 2S it's controlable. 3S lipo it's uncontrollable!
Are you sure we're talking about the same vehicle? This hasn't been released yet and I think it's 3S/4s. If you did get it where did you get it?
@DoRC MJX 14210
Sorry wrong model !
Do you own 14210 ?
@@philpowell1162 ah ok. Well hopefully this one will have better handling.
This will be a fake 1/10 more like 1/12
It's basically the same size as the granite according to dimensions
