I have the Gravedigger Mini coming. While it is on the pricey side, I will say the work that went into the scale realism and the scale driveability is great. The cost for all the Official Licensing is one of the major costs of this. Never had the full size LMT, just out of my price range, so when this came out I just had to put in an order.
And your beat the crap out of it and be spending more money on parts. I just dont get you basher guys. Run it till it breaks and your all smiles and giggles, BUT in your head your pissing and moaning about it being btoken. Well time to put the next truck threw hell till it breaks. Well your the one to spend money on fixing them, so more power to ya. Wouldnt it be cheaper to buy a consoul and some driving game of som sort? In sort time you will have spent the cost of a truck and stop paying for parts. Well at least i hope your supporting your LHS for parts. Sorry just my 2 cents worth
@@jerryhermann7233 It's not expensive. It's a hobby for adults with jobs. 15 years ago you couldn't get an RC car for under 1k and it broke just looking at it. It's not a hobby for jobless people or for those who live paycheck to paycheck. If Losi lowered the price they would go out of business. People seem to forget how advanced these RC cars are for what you pay nowadays it's a steal and nothing to complain about.
@@jerryhermann7233odd to be this concerned about someone else’s enjoyment of their own property. Honestly I’d recommend not commenting on yt videos and do something else.
Please dont tell me what to say. We all have opinions. Plus the right to speek. I wasnt being mean or rude. I wouldnt be replying if you would have just moved. Have a great day with your trucks! Im going to go play with mine.
Oh, sh*t I thought that spider was on my computer! People are so spoiled with cheap or inexpensive RC cars nowadays. I would have killed for a $270 hobby-grade RC car when I was a kid. Instead, I had to buy a kit and all the electronics separately which when starting out can cost upward of 800 to 1k. Now you can spend 150 and have a blast. It's crazy how far it has come in such a short time. 270 for the mini LMT is just right. It's mostly teens who complain about the price. RC cars are a grown-up hobby when said and done. You have to have a job to play with them, lol.
The Losi LMT Mini IS BRUSHED. I accidentally said brushless at the beginning, but all references and points made are about it being brushed. Just misspoke at the beginning. Talk about the brushed motor at 12:10 in and why I like it.
Any RC can break if it hits something the wrong way. I’ve had my Grom for weeks now and love it! I’ve jumped my homemade basement ramp hundreds of times. Done hundreds of backflips off the little board I leaned against the basement wall. And even drove it on a basement obstacle course I made over Thanksgiving weekend. It fell and hit the concrete floor more times than I could count, and from heights as high as 3 feet at times, and I’ve broken nothing! Well worth every nickel of the $129 I paid. I do love how those new mini LMT’s look however. But I just can’t get past the price. You could buy 2 Groms for the price of one mini LMT and still have $10 left over. Not hating on it, I actually love it. But $269 for such a small RC, just my opinion, is kinda steep. Even with licensing royalties that price should be a little lower. And I hope they do lower it at least some, because I really want one, the Grave Digger one. 😊
For what the mini LMT is the price seems reasonable, everything you get it I will have one one day, as always appreciate you sharing catch you on the next one
As you mentioned, some of us (at least I) have devoted a TON of time and money to create our own small scale monster trucks and they just DONT perform well. The Losi is so very scale and functional. My custom build is slowly getting cannibalized the longer it sits on the shelf lol. This Losi is the solution it seems
I finally cancel my pre order on the Grom too much plastic but I keep my pre order for the mini LMT and the new Kraton 4s version 2.5. Thank you for the video Tony now I can make better choice :)
Berating the Grom before even trying it. Well I can tell you the plastic on mine is durable as hell! I’ve bashed this thing all over my basement for weeks now and I’ve broken nothing. I really like the minI LMT too. But that price, I’m having a hard time digesting it.
@@jerryhermann7233 I have pre order the Grom from day 1 in Canada but my LHS never receive and yesterday the Kraton 4s was release so I decide to change my pre order for this one. I will buy the Grom certainly in january because I have already by brushless kit :)
I think the price is more than fair. If you consider the scale-to-price ratio, this thing is significantly under priced as compared to the 1:10 LMT. For $650(without battery mind you) would be $6500 full scale (boy, I wish the real truck were that cheap!) divided by the 18 of the minis, they should be $360!! Same design and tech, just shrunk down with a more than powerful brushed motor. Can't wait to get mine!!
I think if they had added a third, non licensed version or a kit to come in closer to that sub $200 price point, the price wouldn’t scare off as many people. Appease the budget minded hobbyists and the Monster Jam fans alike.
I've only been in the hobby 5 years but I haven't seen or heard of any RTR solid axle monster trucks in anything close to 1/18 scale. So people who were comparing it to truggys and independent suspension monster trucks are missing the point of it.
I preordered the Mini LMT and i think i might get a Castle Mamba Micro with an 0808 motor in it like ive got in my Mini B. The Granite Grom is closer to a toy grade than the LMT is by far. I have the LMT Gravedigger, so i had to order the Mini to go with it.
Super cool Tony, really digging on the new mini LMT’s. Specially the son of a digger one I ain’t got. But I just bought the new custom car hauler from red cat and trailer so my money is a little super low. As always appreciate you sharing
It’s a little small of a motor though, it probably run hot but maybe a fan , better off with little 25 amp HW esc and you can pick compared can size , I don’t like the delay it have for a MT like he alluded to in video, a small sencored system be perfect
I have a full size LMT King Sling. I like it a lot but it's useless and fragile out of the box. It's not a good basher. The axles will snap. It doesn't handle good and will roll at every opportunity. It definitely doesn't crawl. I guess if you add the spool and ear plug the center diff it'd be a good mud truck. It is a great looking shelf queen. It's the last rc i grab when I'm going to play. I can see the mini being equally as great looking and possibly more useless. It lacks the straight line speed and power of big brother. At least metal axles should be cheaper. Those alone cost nearly what the King Sling did.
The LMT is so scale, it is a real Monster jam truck but smaller. The Grom is something else, it is a basher like there are a lot on the market. Yes you can do the same with both, so except for the powercoated metal châssis, the diffs and all metal parts, and the wheels and tires upgrade, you will be close to the LMT price. But you still don't have a scale Monster Truck, and, this is worth some money.
I would pay 400 for that mini lmt. Definitely a great price for that little guy. People that can't appreciate scale accuracy can go with that granite and that's what it's for . It's for people that want to have simple Fun and that's it. There's an ass for every seat 🤷🏻♂️
Do you think it'd be difficult to mount a different body shell to the losi? I'm thinking of picking up the Sonuva Digger, but would want to put a truck shell on it.
No matter how you look at it its still apple to oranges. Saying you get so much more with the losi over the grom. 2 distinct diffrent trucks. I bet the grom is way faster. $210 with upgrades on a gromis still a fair price for me. Ill spend the extra to beef it up. Transerancy on me. Im not a monster truck fan. I prefer racing, and crawling. Beating the f*ck out of the truck , and breaking stuff just adds to the cost of the truck. That being said puts the grom way ahead of the losi.
Part #’s for the upgraded HD diffs and drivetrain parts on the Armma? I contacted Horizon directly and was told there was no HD upgraded diff at this time.
Great comparison, errr contrastison lol. I’m in full agreement that they’re apples to oranges in my eyes. But I gotta whine about the “licensing adds a ton of cost”. (My words not yours). How much REALLY does the Anderson/Monster Jam corps charge a “toy” company to advertise their brand??!!! I can’t help but think there’s some corporate greed somewhere along the line either from the brands or the manufacturers. I realize I’m leaning into the “eff the man!” Concept….. I am truly trying to gain some real data and understanding of HOW MUCH REALLY the “licensing” is jacking (or NOT) the price to consumer.
The LMT line is great but I am so sick of seeing anything from the digger line. It's every place. Can't why get more options or why have they killed off all the builders kit. I wouldn't use the body any way.
Arrma is nothing more than a glorified buggie that is scale to nothing with big tires. They are just bashers. LMT mini is a scale vehicle that actually represents something full scale where nothing exist full scale of the ARRMA. basically an expensive toy designed basher.
