Translucent didn’t take the detonator because he is so confident that he thinks he can read people so perfectly and thought Hughie would never push the trigger. His arrogance in what he thinks is one of his powers is what got him killed

The secret identity thing is more like "not going out with your hero suit on so people don't recognize you instantly". You can still see it's Annie, and her friends probably recognize her, but when you see Annie down the street with regular hair and outfit you're not like "oh it's starlight", because you're so used to the suits.
Yeah in the next episode Hughie recognises her straight away when he sees her in the suit. People just dont tend to look twice at other people so without the costume she's just another person

Karl Urban as Butcher is just phenomenal. An incredibly likeable performance for an immensely horrible character; a bigoted, narrow minded, vengeance driven man child who also happens to be one of the best characters in modern TV.
Antony Starr IMO gives at least a nomination's level performance as Homelander. The guy perfectly plays the character. Always looking fierce and like he is just on the edge, right on the line of snapping and fucking everyone up.
You're not wrong, I would always tense up with every scene he was in after about episode 2. Every damn scene he was in interacting with someone, I kept preparing myself and thinking, "This person is dead, this person is dead, this person is dead"

I love that Frenchy gets the idea from the image of a turtle on the TV it's so subtle you almost don't even know where he got the idea from if you're not paying attention to the TV and realize that they're hard on the outside get soft on the inside

I really wanted Stilwell to be doppelganger. Not necessarily doppelganger but once they introduced that as her power transforming into the guy but then she walked in the room and I was like no superpower at least something to give her the edge on the superpower people she's leading
To me, The Boys' superheroes' world is a transposition of Hollywood 's. How far do you want to be part of it? What can you accept? Would you go over the edge, knowing that for the ordinary people you're like a god. Would you keep your mouth shut if a colleague did something wrong to keep your job?
What secret identity? They’re celebrities. It would be like asking what Tom Cruise’s secret identity is. The show is basically a take on celebrity culture, showing fame and power going to the heads of celebs, only in a superhero show. They’re also not trained professionals they’re just celebrities with superpowers, and total amateurs as far as crime-fighting goes.

The show is basically a take on celebrity culture, showing fame and power going to the heads of celebs, only in a superhero show.
They’re also not trained professionals they’re just celebrities with superpowers, and total amateurs as far as crime-fighting goes.
